This just in.....Turkey Tray Explodes!

OK...Christmas Day Update.

While cooking our turkey, the Pyrex tray it was in EXPLODED!!

I'm not talking cracked or a piece broke off...

I mean EXPLODED!!

It had been in for about 4.5 hours.
Checked on it at 3:30...fine
4:30...boom

Check it out!

Cleaned out the stove of all the "juice" and glass, plopped it on a metel pan and we're back in business!

That tray has been around a while, not a new one.
Glad DW wasnt basting at the time.
The whole front chunk was lying in the bottom at the door.
The bottom was shattered but held together with the cooked juice.
Just fell apart when I tried to take it out.

I have also had this happen to a pyrex dish. Not with a turkey though! OMG!

That happened to my SIL and it scared her to death. Glad everyone is OK and dinner was saved.

I have NEVER seen this happen to Pyrex...how odd! I'm glad you were able to salvage the turkey!
