This is weird, I know--glasses on rides?

I don't take mine off. There would no point to some rides if I had to take them off as I wouldn't be able to see a thing. For RnR I use an adjustable strap and it would take a lot to get them with one of those. Besides that I've never had an issue. I do always travel with a back up pair just in case but I've never lost a pair at any amusement park including Universal.

I haven't found the need to remove my glasses on any Disney ride, nor do I bother with a strap for them. No issues.

I don't wear them in the pool/water park, and have a cheap pair of prescription goggles instead. They looks stupid, but I can't see more than a foot without them (so I can't see my feet clearly when they're off!)

I keep my old prescription glasses and wear those on a ride if I think I might lose them. They're good enough, and then they go back in their case and into my backpack when the ride's over.

I wear both regular glasses and prescription sun glasses. That being said it really depends on how comfortable I feel at that moment in keeping my glasses on or off. I know this will sound odd to some but for some reason my sunglasses fit better than my regular glasses so I've kept those on for some rides like RnRC and Space. I realize it sounds silly to wear sunglasses on a dark ride but for the most part I enjoy it because I can still see clearly although at a much darker light.

I did go on the Wild Africa Trek at AK and they provide you with a strap for your glasses. Even though you aren't going upside down or moving fast its for the animals safety.

All in all I'd say its up to how comfortable you feel with your glasses staying on.

We wear our sunglasses and DS wears his prescription glasses on all of the rides at Disney.

We went to Knott's Berry Farm in March and we had to remove them on all of their coasters even if you had a strap on them. Which was a downer when you can't see anything without them lol

I wear contacts, but tend to keep sunglasses on at WDW. For the indoor attractions, I push them up on top of my head. Last trip, I was cautioned that I might want to take them off by a CM at....Figment! She mentioned that they may get blown off at a certain part of the ride, which I had forgotten about. Just a word of warning. ;)

My DH lost a brand new pair of sunglasses on BTMR. He put them on at the end of the ride, train pulled into the building, then abruptly stopped thus launching the glasses off the back of his head and into the pit under the tracks. No way of getting those back! Best part was that this was day one of our vacation so DH had to buy new ones in Disney. DH hates Disney (only goes for the kids) so I use every opportunity I can to refer to them as his "Disney Glasses" now!!!

Sounds like they were on the top of his head since you say they went off the back of his head? Usually if you wear glasses the way they are designed to be worn they shouldn't come off due to a jerk like that. If that was the case I'd loose my glasses every time someone made an abrupt stop in a car.

Or they weren't fitted well. Sunglasses tend to fly off much easier than prescription glasses, which are sized to you and shaped to your face by the optometrist, when you go in for your fitting.

The arms of my glasses are a bit loose by design, because I am prone to headaches wearing them snug all day long. As such, I've always taken them off for thrill rides, just to be safe. For my upcoming trip in December, I'm going to finally break down and buy a strap to wear with them and secure them to my face, so that I can finally leave them on and see something other than blurry scenery! I'm looking forward to actually seeing the detail on that donut on RnR! (Wait, it is a donut... right? :confused3  )

I wear glasses and the only rides I don't wear them on are rides that go upside down. I wear them on all other coasters, log flumes, and even Tot! I do have a pair of croakies and used them at a water park once bc I didn't want to walk around blind all day.

I'm going to be in the House of Mouse November 9-13. Every previous visit, I have put my glasses away in a case for most rides. I noticed lately that people have them on in ride photos so I am wondering if there is any sort of policy Disney has on this? Also, if you wear glasses on rides, what type of band/strap are you using to keep them from falling off? Any info/advice is so appreciated!!!!
I have to wear mine all the time or I can't see to have fun.....

I wear the straps like the Disney one for my sunglasses.

Ones like the neoprene Disney one shown are called Croakies, with tons of colors and branding available online and in preppy/beachy/misc type stores. The black Disney neoprene one is available via the Shop Disney Parks app.

Not a glasses wearer but love them for my sunglasses at Disney with all the transitions inside and outside/on rides without worrying about where they went/where I put them last.

At the carts just inside the MK main gate they sell thinner thread-like cords for glasses with small Mickey heads in the sides.

I am lost without my glasses and always wear a glasses strap at WDW just for security. It also helps keep my glasses tight to my face so any 3D glasses fit better over them.

My current strap came from Academy Sports; it's the kind that has little rubber bits you slide the bows of your glasses through, and the bead in the back you pull the cords through to make the glasses tighter or looser.

I have been to parks all over the country and never removed my glasses or used a strap. It is way harder than you think to loose things. On one large coaster there were 5 pennies lined up on the rail at my feet when I got on and 4 pennies lined up on the rail after the ride. The forces are different than the seem. Your glasses are safer generally on your nose than in your pocket.

Do you mind recommending somewhere for cheap prescription goggles? I've never had them before but have been thinking about getting some for an upcoming trip.
