The only time I've ever had to remove my glasses at Disney is when I go to the water parks.
My DH lost a brand new pair of sunglasses on BTMR. He put them on at the end of the ride, train pulled into the building, then abruptly stopped thus launching the glasses off the back of his head and into the pit under the tracks. No way of getting those back! Best part was that this was day one of our vacation so DH had to buy new ones in Disney. DH hates Disney (only goes for the kids) so I use every opportunity I can to refer to them as his "Disney Glasses" now!!!
Sounds like they were on the top of his head since you say they went off the back of his head? Usually if you wear glasses the way they are designed to be worn they shouldn't come off due to a jerk like that. If that was the case I'd loose my glasses every time someone made an abrupt stop in a car.
I have to wear mine all the time or I can't see to have fun.....I'm going to be in the House of Mouse November 9-13. Every previous visit, I have put my glasses away in a case for most rides. I noticed lately that people have them on in ride photos so I am wondering if there is any sort of policy Disney has on this? Also, if you wear glasses on rides, what type of band/strap are you using to keep them from falling off? Any info/advice is so appreciated!!!!
I wear the straps like the Disney one for my sunglasses.
I haven't found the need to remove my glasses on any Disney ride, nor do I bother with a strap for them. No issues.
I don't wear them in the pool/water park, and have a cheap pair of prescription goggles instead. They looks stupid, but I can't see more than a foot without them (so I can't see my feet clearly when they're off!)
