Funny you quote those months! Maybe it would be easier on you if you paid them when they are due, October and January! :lmao:

Our darn County has Dec 10th and April 10th as due dates. Then it's Christmas and Income taxes too! Oh and dumb dumb here bought her car in April too.
 
Wow just looked up the price for the Panama Canal cruise Dec 9th 2012, it's much cheaper than when we went in January 2011.:rolleyes:

Actually those are the dates the penalties kick in. They are actually due on the 1st of Nov and Feb. No one realizes that because they don't enforce those due dates! This is the first year we've paid them this late. :sad2:
 
I never want to hand over my property tax money until I have to, so they don't get mailed until a couple of days before the due date.

I dont either, but it was easier for us, than coming up with the money later on.
 
The secret verandah cabins 7120 & 7620 are open they're in category 7A and yes it's 14 days. I would love to go again, need to win the lottery.
 
Yeah, I hear you. Thats why I dont mind taking shorter ones, at least it is something.
 
Yes DCL I could book Dec 9th for the two of us in a secret verandah cabin for around $4,150 total with the 10% on board booking discount, it's about $2,000 less than in 2011.

Not too bad and much better.
 
We sold our home on a short sale. The only thing it shows is a late pay. With a short sale the only requirement is you have to wait 3 yrs before you can purchase. I was happy to do a short sale, versus walking away. Even if your property tax decreases at least that is a little less you owe. I wish I still had our home. We are trying to buy but there is one thing that is stopping it. But everything will be gone in 2015. So if I have to wait a while its ok. But who knows if we will be even living here in Ca

I know someone else who did a short sale. He was not specific with what it did to his credit, but he did the short sale in 2008. Since then, he has not bought a new house. I hope everything works out and you get your home as early in 2015 as possible. The only way we would walk away is if we literally did not have the funds to pay it. We both believe we signed the deal and should pay if we can. A short sale down the road may happen if we have to leave this market. DH had to sign a pretty heavy non-compete contract to get his current job. If it does not work out, we may not be able to stay in Vegas. It was his only job offer at the time though, so he had to take it. He is liking it so far.

I NEVER pay anything late. Our mortgage company pays our property taxes through an Escrow account. This is in our contract. Despite having the funds there, they were late once. They deducted the late fee from my escrow account if you can believe it. It never would have been late if I was able to pay it myself. Since it was their error, they should have paid the fee themselves. The nerve. During my annual escrow review, they raised my monthly premium to help cover it.
