I always find the preferred room to be worth every penny. We had a full balcony with 2 chairs, and enjoyed our view of the lake and and courtyard every morning and evening. Perfect for a cup of coffee watching the early birds do their thing, and always a treat with a cocktail in the evening enjoying the nightlife, lights, and activity. It makes me feel like I'm part of the hussle and excitement, but all on my own terms!

:yay: :dance3: I haven't been to Disney in 7 years, but I have a friend that goes to the BC/YC every year. I started off trying to be frugal, but it's killing me. i told my husband that I was doing a split stay and he could come with me or fly home but I am going to the BC:rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway I booked from August 21-26 and then will add 6 nights to the beginning of our stay. I will stay at the Swan or CSR. I have reservations at both but haven't been able to decide...

Pleaser share all your wonderful info about how great the BC is.....:cheer2:

I just booked also. Eight nights at the Yacht club:cloud9: We were able to tour a room when we were there in September '06. It's just a beautiful resort.

We just returned on Saturday from our trip to WDW and stay at the BCV. I would book this resort again without a doubt. We rented points and the transacton went smoothly. We also added the dining plan which is a super value. A one bedroom would be perfect for a honeymoon stay. We found the villas to be very quiet and soundproof. It was just my husband and me this trip, and the whole area has a romantic feel to me. The other poster that mentioned kids in the BC Lobby probably encountered some of the people waiting for The Cape May Cafe. After all, it is WDW! I can try to answer some questions if you have any...just post or PM me. Have fun researching your trip. We honeymooned at WDW in 1974, man we're ancient!

Points have to do with the DVC don't they? How do you "rent" points. I know nothing about that. Is this different that simply paying for the night's stay in the Villa like a non-DVC member can do?

Sorry I know this is off topic for this thread, but that just got my interest.

We're looking at booking 4 nights at YC in August. One question I have is, has the YC made the upgrade to flatscreen TVs yet? At the Poly last year they had flatscreens, but I haven't seen any YC pictures with flatscreen TVs. It isn't that big a deal, I'm just curious. We chose YC because we will have the pool to go to on our midday breaks.

Sorry Robin, no flat screen tv's yet at any of the Epcot resorts.
I'm sure you will love your stay, it just so happens to be our favorite resort.

Some great info here! I have some friends who will be staying at the YC this coming week for their first trip with the kids. I wanted to do something special for them such as have something delivered to them or left for them as a treat from me. Does anyone have any ideas? Does the YC/BC do anyting like this?

That is so super thoughtful of you! The Disney florist can do that for you. They have some pretty cute stuff. check out their website www.disneyflorist.com You should also check out www.giftsofalifetime.com go to the site and click on personal Disney shopper and there you'll see some pretty cool stuff that they can deliver to the home or hotel room.

what is the difference in the standard view and preferred view?
We just booked for our October trip!! So excited, our first stay there.

Standard view is a view of either the parking lot, tops of buildings or (if you're lucky) garden. Preferred view is either pool or lagoon view. At the YC, there are a few standard rooms that overlook the tennis court or the wedding gazebo.

After 5 straight trips to the YC I decided I wanted to go during the Flower and Garden show and wanted to book during Easter week. I know, I know. It will be one of the most crowded times of the year. That's OK. We're long past the park commando vacations, but this time the YC was full, competely. So now I'm booked at the BC. First time back on this side of the resort in 12 years. I can't wait to see if I really think there's alot of difference or not. Any tips from the BC side would be appreciated. Does anyone know if most of the concierge rooms are near the lounge or are they spread out a lot?

Does anyone know which "views" and room types at the BC are non-smoking only?

Is there an area of the BC that is purely non-smoking?

I posted this under the Concierge ?s before realizing there was a more specific forum--Any help is greatly appreciated

I have been looking through numerous threads & can't seem to find a good/concise answer. We are planning on going to WDW either the last week of November or first week of December 07. It will just be myself, DH & our 4 yo DS. DS is asking to go to WDW so we figured we would take the plunge. DH (after viewing the Vacation planning DVD) decided he wanted to stay at either the BC or YC. Now, after talking to several people, he wants to stay CL at YC.

I understand the offerings in the CL food wise have changed & some people have not enjoyed the attentiveness of the staff. DH is a bit of a foodie & loves Baileys as his cordial of choice--especially on vacation. Heck, he can drink $20/night worth of Baileys. In your opinion, is it worth it? We are planning on doing the Dining Plan so we won't be looking to replace meals (obviously). In addition, I am a Diet Coke addict! Do they have Diet Coke in the CL lounge or will I have to purchase a mug.

I stayed YC CL in December last year and am returning first week of December this year (maybe see you there ;)) - I didn't really take advantage of the food offerings as I was eating out each night but what I did have was very nice and made a good pre-dinner snack. Not meaning to make it sound negative, but at the weekends the lounge was a zoo, it was full of people lining up through the lounge for the food. I had planned to have a pre-dinner snack most evenings before heading out for dinner but there was not a spare seat to be seen in the lounge some evenings :( However, that was the only negative - the staff were amazing and they managed to get me some last minute ADRs plus a last minute wishes cruise, housekeeping was the best I've ever had at any Disney resort, and the IPO were fantastic. Basically, I had the best Disney trip ever at the Yacht Club and that's why I'm returning this year :yay:
