I'm so excited to hear that this thread will be updated. We recently switched our reservations from WL to YC after learning the pool at WL would be closed during our stay in January. Wondering if DD2 and DS8 would be comfortable together in a daybed if we recieved a king plus daybed room on concierge level. Any thoughts? Maybe we'd be better off with two queens... Thanks!

No, I don't think two children would be at all comfortable in the daybed. The ones we've had at the BC are on the small side. Big enough for one child but certainly not two.

Yes, they sell milk in the BC Marketplace although I don't think in cartons. As I recall, there are both individual and larger size plasic bottles.

DOes anyone have any photos of the deluxe rooms (former junior suites) at the BC? we just decided to do a split stay in February and try out the BC as well as the GF. We booked a deluxe room to have the extra space, just wondering what it is we can expect!

Watch the dates on the milk. Every time we have stayed the milk has been past due.

Chief Planner - Definitely two kids would not be happy on the daybed. Your best option would be to get a room with two queens. We found there to still be ample space in the room even with the two queen beds.

The concierge rooms are the same size as the non-concierge. You will be on the fifth floor which requires a key. As you come off the elevators the desk is right there ... they were great about helping us whenever we needed it.

Since you have little kids, it might be helpful to know that the lights on the balconies at the YC do not turn off. If you ask, the concierge staff will have maintenance unscrew it for you. It is nice at night to be able to have the lighter shades drawn and look out on the lagoon if you have a waterview. We found it helpful to have it off rather than on.

We've stayed at YC Concierge twice since Sept and absolutely love it. If your kids are into trading pins be sure to have them ask to look at the pin book at the concierge desk. The food, though, in the lounge may not be what you little ones really like. Evening HDs consisted of muscles, ribs, fish/chips, minestrone soup .... etc. They always had smuckers PB&J, though! Plus fresh fruit. The Krispy Kreme donuts were a big hit in the AM.

I am not looking to replace any full meals with the concierge selections but just wanted to know if the selections and convienence are worth the extra $$$. We have been to WDW many times, just never stayed concierge. I love the CR but decided to try an EPCOT resort this time due to CR remodeling going on and the fact that my kids are getting older and like more than just the MK experience.

Here's the party line:

1. Concierge offerings should not be used to replace a meal (except breakfast, which is a meal as long as you don't require protein beyond cream cheese) and,

2. The decision about whether to stay club level should never be made based upon the $$$ you might save with the food offerings.

I agree with the second - I don't think you could save enough $$$ to justify staying CL even if you only ate from the lounge - and not with the first.

On the other hand, in two CL stays over the past year I found many folk - couples with no children mostly - who are light eaters and who did make the evening offerings their meal. At the YC in November one couple sat down at least two evenings with a bowl of soup, a cheese plate, the hot offering, and assorted hor'deurves. I'm sure that was their light meal for the evening before heading back to the parks where they might have supplemented with a snack.

I think especially as people age and eating too many large meals per trip loses some of its attractiveness, this becomes a common - and in my mind very acceptable - practice.

As to the evening offerings providing a full meal for a family with children, I wouldn't think.

I agree, I would not count on replacing a full meal with the concierge offerings. I was looking for some encouragement about my decision to pay for conciegre. My DD & DS are 13 & 20. My DD will eat everything in sight and my DS is active, but doesn't eat as much as he use to. I know the rooms are the same as the non-concierge. I like the idea of having breakfast available every morning and the personnel available to help us if we need them. I think I might do it just for the experience, good or bad. But what if I get spoiled and then can never go back to non-concierge? Oh, the decisions we have to make .
It sounds like more people have had good experiences than bad, it's just when you read the bad ones it makes you think a little bit harder.

I've had my first stay at YC concierge early December, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I had made full use of the IPO and had meals planned for every day, plus tours, an Illuminations cruise ... and they also arranged a last minute Wishes cruise for me with less than 24 hours. I didn't make much use of the offerings in the lounge as we were eating out each night, but would help myself to sodas, coffee, etc. One thing I did notice, in the week it was very civilised, come the weekend OMG it was packed and people (mainly families) were lining up through the lounge to the corridor piling up their plates!

YC IPO explained to me that lagoon view means we see part of Crescent Lake and a canal. Canal doesn't sound too promising, which is likely why they name it lagoon view instead. Anyone had any experience with this room type view?

We will be staying at the BC for the first time the first week of April (taking my Mom for the Flower & Garden Festival! ).

I have booked Mom the Gardens of the World tour one morning. It starts at 8:45am (before Epcot opens) and they meet at the Guest Services area just outside the main Epcot entrance.

My question is, what is the best way for me to get her there? I'm guessing we won't be able to walk through Future World since the park won't be open yet. Should I just drive over and park in the Epcot parking lot for that day? Any other options?
