Just wanted to say that it's only 52 days until my next vacation!! 7 nights at YC CL and then over to AKL for 3 days. Can't wait to get to YC. We've got big things planned this year with my sisters, one of whom has never been. I can just see the boats on Crescent Lake now. :goodvibes

Hi YCFAN!! Your trip sounds near & so is mine!! I am getting excited, too! I went ahead and booked a YC lagoon view room for us for July 4 - 7. (and then off to GF!! ;) ) CRO told me it would have a water or pool view. Which would be better?? Or in a better location, I guess I mean..... I think I would personally prefer the lake view, but I am just curious which view you prefer and why ?? How about which floor?? :confused3

I got a AAA discount on July 4 and then took advantage of the AP rates for the 5 - 7 - so HOPING we don't have to change rooms for the separate reservations.

Lives4Disney :)

Hi Lives4Disney! Yes both of our trips are fast approaching. :goodvibes I prefer the lake view but I like watching the boats and the lights at Boardwalk at night. If you like watching people at the pool then that would be good too. I can't think of anything that I'd be REALLY unhappy with at WDW!! If you book lagoon view concierge then I believe the lake view is a sure thing. The other view (non-concierge) is called water view and can be either pool or lake. I do know that the quiet pool isn't considered water view anymore (standard now) so even if you get the pool view you'll still probably be able to see some of the lake too. We'll be on 5th floor because we're staying concierge. I hope you enjoy your trip. I love being able to walk into Epcot and back at night to the hotel. I like the boat launch to MGM Studios too. Some people say that they take the walking path to the Studios because they can actually get there quicker but I think the boat ride is just too nice to pass up.

YCFAN, your trip is not that far away now :goodvibes I thought you were staying the whole time at AKL because I teased you about having to change your name. :)

YC FAN - We switched to YC/GF/HRH and we'll be at the YC July 12-19, GF July 19-23, HRH July 23-27. We booked waterview and requested a lake view. My question is - can you see any of the illuminations fireworks from a waterview room at YC? Also this is our first time staying at YC (usually just stay at GF) is there anything I should know about getting a good room. I only requested guaranteed non-smoked (dd has asthma) and lake view. Thanks - maybe we'll see you there!

Hi DisneyMomX7!! You can see Illuminations from some of the lake view rooms. I've had both. If you really want to be able to see Illuminations ask for that when you check in. I really don't have much experience with the other views because I've always booked concierge because I wanted that lagoon view to be guaranteed. I just love the atmosphere at YC and sitting on the balcony is a wonderful plus there with the Boardwalk across the way. We are ususally put over the back entrance of YC on the 5th floor. We'll definitely be on the balcony whenever we're in the room so look up and wave!! :wave2: Looks like we'll definitely be there at the same time!

Cass: Yes I remember that teasing! Our three days at AKL will be in the Presidential Suite though so I'm really looking forward to that!! :woohoo: It's a surprise for the rest of my party, no one knows but me. :ssst: While I'm sure I won't be disappointed AT ALL in the AKL my heart resides at 1700 Epcot Resorts Blvd. Lake Buena Vista, FL.

I usually wear a lime green DIS fanny pack (I know....not stylish but wonderfully practical) so if any sees us give us a holler!!

Oh yes I forgot DisneyMomX7: I've stayed at HRH several times and 2 years ago in the Graceland Suite.....sweet. I really love their pool area. We like to rent a cabana for the day at the pool.

I read somewhere else that the BC lobby is undergoing some changes. Does anyone have any more info??? Thanks.

We will be there in a little over a week. I'll let you know what I see!

Have a fantastic trip and thanks so much. Don't forget to post your pics (no pressure!!!). :wave2:

You'll love the water view at YC. Very peaceful and great sitting out on the balcony watching the lake and Boardwalk area. At night you'll love being able to walk over to Boardwalk if you wish. I really think you'll come away from your stay appreciating the location of the Epcot resorts.

Looking forward to my first trip to the YC next week. :yay: Is the refrigerator for the guest's use or is it stocked with items for purchase? When we stayed at the GF, I moved a couple of items around in the mini-bar so I could fit our water bottles and noticed after we got home that we were charged for using the mini-bar even though we didn't use any of the items. Thanks!

bumping....has anyone been to BC recently and seen any changes in the lobby? Thanks.

We were there in the middle of May and there were no "apparent" changes taking place. However, if it's been a while since you've been there, you'll see the TSA check-in desk (off to the left as you enter) and the new Marketplace.
But, as I said no changes to the lobby.

It is not stocked at the BC - and you can request a fridge (free of charge) at the GF as well. We always decline the key for the mini bar for the exact reason you mention!

Thanks. We were there last August so we shouldn't notice anything new when we go this August.

There have been some changes to the lobby of the BC. Someone on a separate thread posted the pictures. They have painted it light yellow and the carpetting and seats are blue and yellow.

We were able to switch our reservation from only a couple nights at the YC to a full week at the BC earlier this week. I am hoping that I did not make a mistake!

Hey, Yacht Club experts -- I have a question.

Is the day bed at the YC big enough for an adult to sleep on comfortably?

Sorry if this has been answered before. I tried to search for the information, but the search function was giving me trouble.

Thanks!!!
