josierac............great pictures of the YC concierge. Brings back great memories of when we stayed there in Dec.

Goin' back this Dec for DISCON..........Can't wait!!!!

Hi Mosttrue and welcome to the DIS !!!!

DISCON is the get together/convention for DISers (frequenters of this website) which will be held this year from 12/4 through 12/8 at WDW. There's a couple of official events and lots and lots of mini-meets.

You can check out the board for the convention by going to the drop down list at the bottom of this thread and clicking on "DIS Convention 2002 - A Gathering of Friends"

I just heard that the YC Gallery restaurant will be re-opening soon, serving breakfast and lunch. This is great news, sure hope it's true!

RobinLyn :)

Yes. I have heard the same thing. However I can not remeber where the heck I heard this. I will do my best to find out.

It was in the last edition of the AllEars Newsletter.

That is exactly were I read it.
Thanks sharoncity

Hello we have a BC waterview concierge room third week of July . We are a family of 5 (7,8 & 11). I want to keep requests to a minimum but these are our "wants". Queen beds with daybed, is this automatic with 5 of us or does it need to be requested, full balcony, non smoking room. Are there larger rooms specifically that we can request? I understand to call the day of arrival to make requests but I don't want to have a laundry list at that time. Any words of advice will be well taken. PS - thanks for Forum, it helps a bunch!!!:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

The YC Gallery Restaurant is opening on June 9 th !! I'm so gald we will have another choice for breakfast while staying there. They will serve lunch also.

RobinLyn ;)

OMG!!! That's great news!!! Where did you hear it from???

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YC RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi slawdoggy:

Not sure if you're staying at YC or BC, but we stayed at YC Concierge Lagoon view last Dec. We were in rm 5161. We had 2 queens and a daybed. Plenty of room.

If you have not received a questionaire from the Concierge yet, you should place a call to the concierge desk a couple of days before your arrival just to let them know your needs. Chances are they will put you in a queen/queen/daybed room anyway.

Have a great trip!!!
Linda

Just wondering if anyone knows the time frame before your trip you can expect your questionaire from the Concierge?

Never stayed on concierge before but feel like i'm learning so much from this awesome site. I can't say thanks enough..

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO.. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Mosttrue....we got ours about a month before our arrival.

I'm staying at the YC over New Year with my family - it's the first time we've stayed here and after researching the Dis boards we decided to book it ourselves from the UK, we're currently staying in concierge but after reading about the Grand Plan my parents are really keen on switching packages. My question is this, if we do go with the Grand Plan do we really need to go concierge as it seems all our meals are included, including in room dining? Also, if we go Grand Plan and not concierge then we will obviously need to change room location (we have 2 connecting rooms) - what would you recommend for someone who has never been to the YC (or a deluxe!!!). Thanks.
(I've just posted this same question on the GF board as I'm staying there over Christmas).

Clare, check over on www.ourlaughingplace.com under message boards and then Adventure - there was a whole posting with pictures on the Grand Plan at the Grand Floridian.

Also they were automatically upgraded to have concierge services while on the Grand Plan

I have a reservation at the Beach Club Villas(1 BR) August 11-17. Me, hubby and 3 girls (9,6,1). would like more specific BCV info. What is the best location in the hotel? etc. Is the pool really as crowded in August?

We reserved a room for a week at the YC, and were told it is a "King Parlor Room." Is this a full size room with a permanent bed in it, or are we going to be in one of those rooms that has the Murphy bed in it...

The trip is our honeymoon, so the size, comfort, and stability of the bed IS of a little importance to us. Any responses would be appreciated. Also, will the renovations be complete by Sept. 22-29?

Thanks in advance!

Misty

It sounds like a King room with the separate sitting area, but I don't know for sure. Either post this as a separate question on the board or call the resort directly. Since it IS your honeymoon, it is definitely worth knowing upfront. Plus it wouldn't hurt you at ALL to let the resort know it is your honeymoon - you never know what surprises you may find! Congratulations on your upcoming nuptipals and have a wonderful trip! We honeymooned in WDW 14 years ago! (Hope you to advantage of some of the great codes for that time period!):bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I tried to scan through all the pages for this question. My eyes got tired so it may have already been asked. We are looking forward to our stay at YC concierge in August. I was wondering if anyone knows rooms on the 5th floor are smoking v non-smoking?
Thanks! This is a great thread!
