VickiVM,

Not sure why you can't get into the photos. I just tried the link and it worked for me. It's a Yahoo photo site. I've found that if you're logged into Yahoo on your computer, it will ask you for a password prior to letting you see the photos. You can either enter your password, or log out of My Yahoo and then try.

Here is a link to some more recent BCV photos, posted over on the DVC board. They're really good:

Just returned from my trip at the YC on Sat evening and I must say that this was one of the best vacations to the world yet. It seems the YC has a new general manager and every month for the past 6 moths he has scheduled one morning between 8:30 and 9:30 for all the guest from both hotels to join him and other managers of the hotel and pool area for a continental breakfast at Martha's Vinyard near Cape May Cafe. We did take a moment to stop in so that we may personally comment on the concierge service and talk with them about the renovation plans that will be going on in July for the concierge rooms and lounge are. We were impressed on how they pleasantly answered all our questions and actually catered to request that we made. If any one is staying on propery and you happen to get invited to this I would recommend going because alot of info can be aquired from this meeting and also great people to meet as well. Now I have to wait until Dec to go back

ellieb,
Glad you had a great vacation! What renovations are being planned for the YC concierge rooms and lounge areas? We stayed concierge at the YC a while ago and we also enjoyed it!
Chris

Hello 4merlurkerchris -

The lounge area is going to be expanded as well as the kitchen area and the lobby where the dest are. They mentioned that this renovation is for 13 complete days in July. All the rooms will be renovated as well however she did not get into detail on what is going to be renovated. She just mentioned that when we arrive in Dec. things will look alot bigger and nicer.

ellieb,
Thanks for the information! Did you get the impression that the renovation work would then be done by August?
Chris

Oh yes definately done by August. If I can recall her mentioning something about them starting right after the 4 of July and then continuing for 13 days.

4merlurkerchris

If you would like to contact Maylene the Manager of Guest Services that told us about the renovations just send me an email at ellie@elyssastreasures.com and I will send you the info that she gave me on her busniess card.

Hi Lisa and welcome to the DIS. There is some good information about concierge service on this very thread. Just go to the first page and scroll down until you see the info. Also, on the home page of this site under Resort information you will find more.

I stayed at YC Concierge for the first time this past Dec. and loved it. The food offerings in the lounge were plentiful and very good. The concierge CM's are wonderful and extremely helpful with questions and concerns. They got us a PS at Cindy's Royal Breakfast for 13 guests which is an impossible feat !!

When we first arrived at the YC we announced to the valet that we were staying on the concierge level. He took us directly up to the 5th floor and we were checked in there. It was really nice not to have to stand in line to check in.

Concierge service on the average is $75.00 - $100.00 per day more than a standard room. So the decision is really up to you on whether or not to spend the extra $$ for the pampering.

As I said in a couple of earlier posts.........I'm a spoiled brat and I'm worth the extra $$ :D :D

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask away.

Linda

Okay I have a couple of questions :D

I am staying at the Yacht Club for the very first time during the first week of June and I need help figuring out what to ask for to get what I want :)

I would love to have a room that overlooks the water front side lobby entrance - just like on very first picture on this thread. I only have a standard view so I realize that my chances of getting one of those rooms is limited since they are almost all water view and some are suites. Should I request a water front side lobby view or is there something better that I should call it so they will know what I am asking for. Will the Yacht Club let you request actual room numbers ?

I THINK :) that I see the room numbers that would apply to what I want - 2143, 2145,or 2147 and the 143,145 & 147 would work for the 3 & 4th floors too. On the first floor it appears that 1147, 1149, 1151 or 1153 would also work for what I want. Could someone please tell me if I am right or completely off :)

Also another thing that I am itching for is a room with one of those lovely pink striped awnings. Do you think that the Yacht Club people have a list of what rooms have the awnings ? Yes I realize that is a strange thing to worry about but I want to make the most of my Yacht Club experience :)

We went on the Honeymoon Grand Plan in 1997 and stayed at the Boardwalk. Make sure you tell EVERYONE you are on your honeymoon and you will get lots of perks. We had a great room directly over the boardwalk/lagoon with a full balcony.
Do NOT miss dinner at Victoria and Albert's.
One of a Kind...Very Romantic!
E-ticket night is also very romantic, very few people in the park.
We were married on Halloween and we are looking forward to our second Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
FYI : Tickets are already on sale for this!!

1982 - Offsite
1985, 1987 - Spring Break
1995 - Trade Convention in Orlando, All Star Sports Resort
1997 - Boardwalk for Honeymoon
2000 - Yacht Club with 2 year old, 3rd anniversary
October, 2002 - Yacht Club Grand Plan with 4 year old,
5th anniversary

Can't wait for 10th anniversary...Grand Floridian full boat!
Hope we make it!

To Fortwilderness:

We stayed in 1151. That group of room used to be smoking rooms. The room has a patio looking into the courtyard as people exit the YC. and head toward the lighthouse, great for people watching. The rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor are above this and the view is limited.

We were there for our 25th wedding anniversary, walked up to the desk and told the CM of the occasion and ended up with a room in the -155 to -163 area overlooking the bay, it as great.

Also another "tip", the bell guys know all the great view rooms. If you get a room that isn't to your liking ask the bell person when they bring your luggage to your room that you would like to make a change. They'll make a call to the desk and so far we've ever been disappointed in the new room.

Good Luck!

About a month ago, I booked the YC at a great rate of $209 with tax for a standard room. I am now a DS CM, and called today to see about a CM rate. Well, all that is available is Concierge Garden View for $230(w/tax) or Concierge Lagoon View for $250.
I'm asking the experts - is it worth the extra $20 or $40 to do Concierge for those 4 nights (I think I already know the answer :D )? I mean, in the big scope of things, it is only $80 to $160 more for the whole 4 nights, right? I'm thinking that just the food they offer makes it worthwhile (with a dh who loves to sip wine, and 2 teen boys who EAT!). So I need advice! Lagoon view or garden view???? Let me add that we will be at BCV in a 2 bedroom (DVC members) for 5 nights before this, and we do spend quite a bit of time hanging in the room, or on the balcony.
I'm leaning toward just going for it - the Concierge Lagoon room.
Should I????
One more thing...
I'm not sure if both YC and BC are available - it may just be BC. Is one better than the other? Thanks for all your help! :D

Definitely worth the money! If you and your boys just eat one snack or grab one or two bottles of water a day, you've covered the additional price - Never stayed YC or BC Concierge, but I hear that YC has the BEST food in concierge on site! By the time your DH has a glass of wine in the evening - you are way ahead of the game - Congratulations on becoming a member of the Disney CM family! Hope your vacation is the best!

What, if any, is the difference in the concierge service and rooms at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts? We are trying to decide whether to stay at the Yacht Club or the Beach Club. Please help. Thanks! :)

stephcm, I don't think you can go wrong with either view. As far as which resort, I would pick YC because you have two teenage boys (so do I). The Beach Club is nice but the theme to me is more....don't know how to say it. It's just not for the males in my family, they much more liked the YC theme. Both resorts are beautiful and I would stay at either personally. Have a great time!

RobinLyn :)

Any recent reports as to the offerings at the BC concierge? I'm interested in finding out the times and fare that is offered? What type of liquor is offered and at what times of day/night?

I'd also like to know that info and recommendations for waterview, full balcony room with 2 queens and a daybed. We are staying on BC concierge at the end of August. I thoght I found some pictures posted of the Concierge floor awhile back but can't remember what post. Anyone else remember? Thanks
