Well, to an extent, you won't see the actual dusty construction area from the waterfront side of the hotels, except for the massive cranes currently on the entrance side of the Beach Club. If you stay at the Yacht Club, you won't have to really be on the construction side of the building, except for when the bus stops at the Beach Club's makeshift bus stop...which, in January, was smackdab in the middle of the construction area. There's no construction noise if you stay at the Yacht Club, but any kind of work area is a turn-off for you, try a deluxe resort several miles away (like the Grand Floridian, Poly, or Wilderness Lodge).

Love this forum! We stayed in a regular room at the YC in Dec. and will be staying in Concierge next month. I can't wait!

When we stayed at Poly Concierge last summer we had a refrigerator put in the room for no charge. My TA was told there would be a $10 per day fee for one at the YC. Is this information correct?

Do I need to request queen beds, or do concierge rooms all have queen size?

Thanks for your help!
Jeannie

Finally figured out how to rate the thread, thank goodness!!! I am sooo excited about our trip...I hope theres no construction view! Anyone else honeymoon at the Yacht Club?

I think all the rooms on the Regatta Club (Concierge) Level have two queen beds or a king-size. No worries.

Ciao,

JC

What a wonderful informative site you have here. Stayed at the BC for the first time in June 2001. Can't imagine why I never stayed here before, I am hooked. Coming back July 24th for 3 days, picked concierge, waterview this time. It is my daughter's and niece's b-days. Does anyone know if they do balloons or cake or anything in Concierge for special occasions?

Any idea when the floor plans will be up on the 1st page. Would love to know idea of rooms before I fax in request. Thanks again for all the info. :jester:

It'll all start popping up on July 31st, 2001, for the one-year anniversary of this place. Stay cool,

JC

I just changed my DC Standard Rm at the YC to GV Concierge with the AP Rate. I spoke with 3 different CM's at CRO that all told me I would not have a parking lot view, I would have a very nice View of the landscaping and gardens. Now looking at the floor plans for the 5th fl concierge, it appears the rooms are facing the parking lot. Could you please tell me if I am reading the plans wrong or is CRO misinformed? I am just so thrilled to have recieved such a great rate for concierge:D but I am hoping for a nice view.

Wendell, that I can give you a definet anser too. I talked to the concierge level (katherine) the other day. in the jist of the conversation she did mention they had Krispy creme donuts in the concierge lounge at breakfast. I am not sure if this is everyday but I did say I couldn't wait for that. Katherine was saying they have glazed and chocolate glazed when they served them. OK, now that I am dying for one and we have no Krispy Kremes that i know of in Mass. I am just going to have to wait 34 more days to have one. Argh, I can't wait to go.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Gee thanks for the "confirmation" Gail! That makes my day and now I can't wait!

Have a great time on your trip and have a glazed chocolate for me!

Take care and let us know how you enjoyed your trip!

Wendell

Belle, take a look at the aerial photograph I posted on the first page, and find the Yacht Club. Then you can better gauge what your room will have a view of. I can tell you that the rooms on the entrance side of the building do not have a direct view of the parking lot, although the parking lot will be visible from your room. They say the 'very nice view of landscaping and gardens' to everybody who gets standard view to sell the rooms. Just think of what people would do if all they could afford was standard view, and someone told them they'd have a view of a parking lot?

Your view will most likely be of the sunset, the canal near the entrance, the driveway, the convention center roof, and some landscaping and gardens.

I'm in my room at the YC right now!!! It is soooo cool! Thanks for all the help from these boards! This has been such a great trip so far. I hope it just gets better!:p

:p

Wendall, I can d one step better then having a donut for you, I'll have a few ok, I love donuts maybe 3. I am sure all the walking I won't gain a ton of weight, or at least I am hoping I wont.:)

Mickey_K, hope you have a FUNtastic trip. I wish I had a way to update everyone when I go down, who knows, maybe I will sink myself into more debt and buy one for my trip :) :bounce: :smooth: ;)

Thanks for responding.:D We tried to get a waterview non-concierge room, but as luck would have it, they were booked for our dates. My boys are thrilled with staying concierge, they just love concierge lounges and all the perks. I'm sure the view will be fine, we don't usually spend very much time enjoying the view from our room anyway. I'm just thrilled to have gotten a AP rate this time of the year.:) Your a world of information, thanks. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
