oh wow. She is going to love that!!!

When is graduation?

Hey girl

Well there are no rules bout taking your kids out, but still I don't like him to miss a lot of days

So I picked what is known as Jersey week since Trent has half week off anyway. So he is going to only miss 3 days.,

One of the 3 days will be a nothing day as far as school goes, as the week is only 2 days to begin with as that starts Jersey week

November 8th...NO pressure

I think our school is the same. The week I picked would mean that StinkerBelle would only miss 3 days too. I'm telling you right now that I don't like this school crap  It's getting in the way of my Disney trips!!!

There is three weeks until they get out of school. I thought that it was just adorable.

It really is adorable! Anything pink just draws me near!

How are you today, Chele?

I'm doing well. Just enjoying the nice weekend! My parents are coming today and we will cookout tomorrow. Spent all day yesterday cleaning the deck and getting it ready for summer. A lot of work but so worth it! Bought a new grill so we plan on cooking out A LOT!

I hope you can enjoy your weekend

I hear ya girl. It totally sucks.

I hate vacationing down there in summer, so for now, will be taking him out school for a few days each year probably til he hits like 5th grade

That sounds great. Love some BBQ :thumbsup2

Hello friends! We're baaack!

We had fun but like Betsy and Marsha both said, it was hot and crowded and that slowed us down a lot. We took breaks midday and found we had the most fun when we went back for the evenings. MK was open til midnight 3 out of our 4 days in the parks and the other night DHS was open until 10. That evening we rode Star tours 4 times in a row ~ walked right on! :thumbsup2 Sadly we only experienced 2 of the 54 new sequences!

I doubt we will go again when that kind of heat can be expected. And I was suprised at the crowd levels... they were much higher than any of the predictors I looked at. :sad2:

On the positive side ~ we did some firsts this trip! We saw Muppets 3D... saw the Narnia exhibit/video... rode TSM FINALLY (4 times!)... rode Dinosaur... Tom and Abby rode ToT with her friend Kali (the girls rode it many times, for Tom once was enough)... went to Tom Sawyer island (snore)... rode Jungle Cruise in the dark... had a DOLE WHIP (ummm hello.... yummy!)... saw Wishes and the ELP. Those don't run at Christmastime, which is when we always go.

OH and hoppers!!! I've got one word ~ AWESOME! I don't think we'll ever go again without them. They totally made us feel like we crammed as much as possible into the trip. Without them I wouldn't have been able to ride Soarin. The girls hated Epcot... we never even got to WS. It was packed and hot and they were cranky! We left at lunchtime the day we went and they didn't want to go back. Thursday morning Tom and I took just the boys (left the moody teenagers at the condo to sleep in) and went to Epcot just to ride Soarin. By the time we got back they were up and nearly ready to head to MK.

Anyway, all in all ~ fun! I mean, it's Disney World... and we know how to make the best of it! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, while we were there we got news that Tom's aunt passed away. We got home last night and today I'm getting the laundry done so we can pack and head to SC early tomorrow morning. The funeral is Tuesday and we'll come back home Wednesday. Ugh... too much driving but what can we do?

Welcome Home!!!

I am glad you had a good time minus the heat and crowds

Sounds like you did some great stuff. I love the Muppets ride, but Trent never wants to go on it :confused3

Jungle Cruise at night is cool. I love how corny the drivers are :rotfl2:

Why didn't the girls like soarin? I got to know their reason. That ride is awesome :woohoo:

I am sorry to hear about your family's loss. Drive safe

I am sorry to hear about Tom's aunt passing.

You know...I'm not sure if there IS a slow time at Disney anymore!! Our next trip is January 2012 and I'm definitely expecting low crowds ... but then folks have said on DIS that the Brazilian tour groups go then, too. ARGH -- I had enough of them in July! But fortunately, one family can usually move around them quick enough or you just skip the ride they are going to.

So glad you got to experience MK at late night! I wanted to but we'll have to wait until my little ones are bigger.

Yeah for the new rides!! I did like Star Tours but honestly, I don't know what all the buzz was about. It was nice ...but not something to "whoop and holler" about -- which 3 people actually did when I rode it!!

I also had my first Dole Whip this trip. Usually I just get the one with pineapple juice and dole whip, which is delicious too. Either way is totally wonderful!!

Sorry to hear about Tom's aunt. Safe travels.

Nicole!! So glad you had fun! yes Park Hoppers are the only way to go at Disney World unless you have a 12 day trip or something.
So Sorry to hear of ya'lls loss. Coming off vacation is always tiring as it is and to have the emotional stress of a loss well  again. Ya'll will be in my prayers.

Hi to everybody. I have gained weight!! I am now up to 104.4 lbs! :dance3: I NEVER thought I'd be cheering about gaining weight!! I won't be surprised if I've gained another pound or two in the morning. I have ate like a hog and drank FIVE Boost on top of it all!!!
I figure I'll fight to gain enough weight for chemo and then they'll put me on steroids and I'll gain so much weight they'll put me on a diet and that will be the end of me cause I don't know how to diet. Unless the seefood diet counts. cause trust me when I see food I eat it unless it's just really nasty!!

Chele why can't we live closer together??? ;) Indian food sounds good!!:thumbsup2

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. We appreciate them very much.

Kelly, the girls just didn't like Epcot... they didn't even ride Soarin'!! Abby has been on it before but this was Kali's first visit to Epcot. I felt bad that she didn't like it. It was just too crowded and the waits were ridiculous. If it had been cooler I think they wouldn't have been as unhappy... but like Tom says, "You can pick your dates but you can't pick the weather." :rotfl:

Hey, a flippin tornado went through my hometown today!!! :scared1: UJ's house is okay... some trees down... and no power. Thankfully my other sister's house and my brother's house are fine too. Still waiting to hear about some friends though. Scary, scary stuff!

Well I'd better get to bed... early morning departure ahead. :sad2:

I am glad everyone is okay. This weather that is happening everywhere is so scary

Be safe tomorrow :goodvibes

I wish we lived closer too!! Scotty got tears in his eyes when I showed him Braeton on the bicycle and told him what he had said.

Really? I love Soarin' it is one of my favorite rides.

That is scary about the tornado. There were three in northern California the other day. The weather is nuts.

I'm telling you right now that I don't like this school crap  It's getting in the way of my Disney trips!!!

I hear ya!!

Since Rachel entered Kindy this year, we've had to think about school. but I'm of the belief that family vacations and learning in Disney is just as important, if not more so, than sitting in school.

I figure we'll take Rachel out of school for 5 days (we are allowed 10) once a year until it doesn't work out anymore.

Our schools have started to go 'hi-tech' and at the high school level, all the work is handed in electronically...so they can still hand in their assignments. I think that's pretty cool -- I never had a computer class until 10th grade ... and my sister had one in 12th grade.

Welcome back :yay: I really am sorry we never got to meet up! I was a different trip for us than planned with the dang heat and crowds! It still sounds like you had a wonderful trip! :woohoo:

I'm so sorry to hear about Tom's aunt :hug:I hope you all have a safe trip to SC and back.

I will. I am going to make some Indian food for dinner.

mmmm....that sounds yummy! I have never ventured into cooking Indian food.

We were there this January and there were no crowds! We literally did everything without much of a wait. Of course the weather was up and down. One day we go to swim and then there was a day that I had to wear my wool coat to DHS :eek:I couldn't imagine it could be that could at WDW but it was around 35 that morning and we were doing EMH to ride TSM! I would take my January trip over this past one for sure. We still had a great time and some 75 degree days!

LOVE the dole whip  One of my favorite things about staying at the Poly is having a Dole Whip machine right there!

I am going to be doing the same thing with Eliza. I'm guessing we have the 10 day rule too since it seems that most do. Love the high-tech assignments! That will be great! I'm sure by the time the kids are older, they may have advanced things even more!

I think once u pass certain number, u get a warning

well, Trent missed 16.5 days, and no warning for us :confused3

I sent in a note for each one..

4 of those were for disney..but other 12.5 were all sick day..darn viruses

Did eveyrone have too much fun this weekend :rotfl2:

My friend and I saw Bridesmaids this weekend and OMG, I laughed until I Cried.

Definitely go and see it :rotfl:

We went to the same friend house yesterday for a BBQ for a few hrs. I was outside for about 2 hrs and had enough. It was way too hot :scared1:

What did everyone else do?
