Gen Xer here who loved the music. All these songs are on my playlists so my kids know and love them as well. I like that they put a show on that can be enjoyed by many generations.
Me and 24 year old dd were enjoying MJB’s wine the other night and talking about how great she is. My 2 younger ds’s know more old school rap and hip-hop than I do. for those saying that anyone under 30 the show isn’t for you is wrong.

Hate to break it to anyone who thinks this group is current - no one my teens listen to at all. Snoop’s first hit was decades before today’s teens were born and Eminem’s was in 1993! So anyone who enjoyed this bunch was old as well lol

Not true. This Gen-X taught her Gen-Zs correctly and they know the music. They loved the show.

My ds’s and their friends all make their own music and they are heavily influenced by these artists.
There was a time when I’d play a song and my teen would start singing and I was surprised thst he knew who it was and the song. He was like of course I know LOL
They are definitely listening to these guys and other artists from that time period (even those who aren’t alive anymore).
I understand if it isn’t your kind of music, but like any genre people who like it will listen and enjoy music from all decades.

Considering next year the game will be on Fox, that would be interesting.

I’m more worried about Fox’s 2022 World Cup song selections in November (they are not usually great). We’ll see if the ASC winner gets enough support. If they do I’m 99% positive they will be the next singer at next years super bowl.

The performance was toned down more than I expected. Some suggestive dancing that they focused on for like 5 seconds but nothing to really clutch your pearls over, especially compared to previous halftime shows. I think they really kept in mind that several generations come together to watch this and kept it fun and entertaining and fairly clean and I appreciate the symbolism that was included.
