Also going to throw out that 2022 Eminem is 100% more attractive that 2002 Eminem. 50 cent looks more like 75 cent. Inflation be hitting everybody lol

When 50 Cent showed up, I asked my son who was that guy singing 50 Cent's song and he looked at me strange and said, "Uhh, that's 50 Cent". He looked like someone who ate 50 Cent ;)

Personally, I think the NFL won’t exist in 100 years, so debating about the halftime show us a little pointless. :confused3

They could improve the game by not stopping the clock like they do in soccer. Would keep the game moving faster. Those 4 hour games are insufferable.

Nobody said that. No need for straw manning, most of us are adults here. Snoop aka Calvin Broadus is a legitimate criminal. There isn’t any “liking to align” about it.
So what? He had some drug convictions waaaay back in the day. Who cares at this point? Since then he's gone on to be a great father, coaches many youth football teams, owns a youth football league, works with many charities including (but not limited to) Habitat for humanity, Boys and Girls club, Save a life foundation, Make a wish, Voices against Violence, Shriners Hospitals and has donated more than 110 million to charities. Obv still a horrible criminal degenerate with nothing positive to give the world...

Not true. This Gen-X taught her Gen-Zs correctly and they know the music. They loved the show.

I mean I’m old & I’m ok with it, but just because your teens aren’t listening to them, doesn’t mean that’s true for all.

Yeah, my middle schooler surprised me with how much Snoop, Dre and Kendrick she knows. I liked Snoop and Dre back in the day but as club music, not stuff I listened to much at home/in the car. I don't have more than a handful of their songs on my Spotify likes. My son introduced me to Kendrick's stuff and it is basically the same - something I listen to when he's in the car with me since it is common ground between our very different tastes, but not something I listen to much on my own.

And I guess Eminem is enjoying a LOT of popularity with the middle school set right now. I figured my kids knew him because I do listen to him pretty regularly, but my 13yo knows songs I hadn't even thought of in years word-for-word and says "all" her friends know them. Pretty sure his collaborations with Ed Sheeran were some sort of gateway drug. :rotfl: And it certainly doesn't hurt that even at almost 50, he's still young-looking enough that they think he's hot.

The performance was toned down more than I expected. Some suggestive dancing that they focused on for like 5 seconds but nothing to really clutch your pearls over, especially compared to previous halftime shows. I think they really kept in mind that several generations come together to watch this and kept it fun and entertaining and fairly clean and I appreciate the symbolism that was included.

DD20 and I both noticed that too. It had a very "party" vibe to the dancers, both in their dress and their moves, so it was in parts suggestive in the way a woman out having a good time on a Friday night might dance suggestively with her friends, rather than the more choreographed and deliberately evocative moves I think we sort of expected. I'm not sure if it was as much a nod to a multi-generational audience or the vibe they were going for because the sets were constructed around the same house party concept or an ofhanded acknowledgement that a highly sexualized performance would hit differently when put on by mostly male artists, but it was interesting to see how toned down it was compared to other shows in the recent past.

I'm 55 and loved it!

Checking in at 58 and loved it too! I like most any kind of music and I love live music. Seeing artists/musicians performing live and having a blast is one of my favorite things. And they were all having so much fun. I could barely take my eyes off Anderson Paak -- he was just beaming and having a blast.

worst ever- pure trash.

I find it so interesting to take this viewpoint. It's okay to say "it's not my kind of music". I don't get the need to label something in this manner. I thought it was a blast and really loved it, but I can understand some people being less so. I'm not a big country fan, but I enjoy some acts. If it had been a country act that I didn't enjoy, I wouldn't feel the need to say "just a bunch of hicks" or whatever.

CTE will eventually end the sport. I’m 100% convinced.
I think the slow pace of the game will lead to young viewers becoming uninterested. This has already happened to baseball. The average age of the Mariners fans at T-Mobile park is 60+. Baseball will die off first but football will be soon behind unless they speed up the game. 10 minutes of action over 4 hours will not keep the youngsters tuned in.

I can’t do the research for you. You keep saying this like it’s the truth, I’m not sure who you are trying to convince. If it makes you feel better, believe the lie. You’re so personally offended that someone doesn’t like a criminal that I have to wonder what’s really going on. Snoop, is that you pretending to be a Disboards member?
Perhaps you just can't do the research for yourself, or refuse to. Idk, and I don't care anymore. Bless your heart and have the day you deserve.

None of us will be here in a hundred years either. That doesn't make current events, even frivolous ones, any less interesting right now.

People can change as well and deserve forgiveness if they are willing to change for the better.

Not to mention, we're talking about an NFL event here. Seems like a strange line to draw to watch a sport with a long history of looking the other way when it comes to criminals on the field but object to one on the halftime stage...

I didn't watch but I read that there was an electric vehicle theme to much of the advertising.

It wasn't just the EVs. They showed the old toll booths but Meadow had an EZ Pass so she didn't need to stop for a toll ticket like Tony did. Won't be long before New Jersey rips out all of the toll booths on the NJ Turnpike.
