This freezing weather is crampin my style! A Dec 2010 TR

Oh, so sorry you were :cold: To me, that would make it the worst day. I'm glad the magic is coming back via a taco salad and good company:thumbsup2

Going to Fl in December you gamble with the weather. I have been when it was 70 degrees, It was still a good trip regardless of the cold, I made some great memories, and a taco salad can cure any bad mood.

I loved Pecos Bill's! We ate there for the first time last year on a whim, and couldn't believe how nice it was. Not very crowded and plenty of seating. Glad to hear that the birthday wishes started coming! You deserved a special fake birthday!
Pecos Bill has been my traditon since trip one, it's always the first place I eat when I go. I can't wait to go back.

Maybe the Birthday Magic was just cold and needed to warm up a bit I know I'm really sluggish when I'm cold. Glad it started working for you I'm hoping for lots of Birthday Magic when we go.Btw I love your Jacket it is soo cute and the shirts and jackets you designed and painted are adorable nice work.
Yea, I think you're right, the magic was a little frozen tha morning.:lmao:
I hope you have lots of Birthday magic too.

I'm debating painting more shirts for my next trip, I only wear them at Disney so now I have all these shirts just hanging in the closet.

I am loving your TR. I am going to have to start looking for a cute Disney jacket for our upcoming December trip.

When in december are you going? WalMart always has cute Disney fleece jackets around November. Hopefully your Dec temps will be a little warmer and you won't need a heavy coat. I am going back again this December and plan to bring my heavy coat but am hoping it won't be needed.

I haven't been on her much lately but I always love reading your reports. Should have been doing laundry but had to read this instead. I thunk a girls only trip sounds divine! And I think we will abbé to spend more time in innovations next trip. You found some neat things there!
Thank you for reading and posting, meeting new people on the Disboards is the main reason I come here and write TR's.
I should be doing laundry too.:laundy:
A girls trip is the Bomb Diggety.
Exploring Epcots every nook and cranny paid off, there is so much neat stuff there. I plan to spend even more time in that spot on my next trip.

We're still here... have a fun time, and post when you can!
Okey Dokey.

Have fun in Michigan...

Reese's car sounds very sensible... :thumbsup2

Wish I could convince my daughter to get a sensible car... She wants new and sporty... Good Luck with that chicky-poo!!! There's no way she's driving a nicer car than me!!! :lmao:

Reese's car is very sensible, She's not being picky right now, she does plan to sell it in a few years and get a pick up truck, but for now this is all she needs for work and school.
I hear you on the "There's no way she's driving a nicer car than me" that would totally rot my socks.
she put a dent in my fender a month ago, she actually hit my DH's truck with it. I wouldn't let her drive my car anymore after that.

Hi Ty, It's Mama. I will go back and read I just wanted to save my place here.
Hi Ma!
I'm still reading!! Have fun in Michigan!
thank you. I did have fun in Michigan.
I am reading along,:surfweb: hope you have a great time in Michigan.
Thank you for reading, and I did have fun, thanks again.
I'm just back from out of town and trying to get caught up with everyone.

I'm curious where in Michigan you were going, Wondering if you were near my part of the state.
My Mom is in Waterford Twp, not too far from Pontiac. My sister Bo lives in Washington Mi.
Come back, come back wherever you are. I am impatiently waiting. :rolleyes1

Really have enjoyed your perspective. One of my close friends and I went down there 12/7 - 12/15 sans family . . . and we froze our watoosies off, too. :scared1:
I'll be back super soon with an update.
So you were there during the great Disney freeze too? I froze my butt off...it grew back once I got home.

I loved the PTR title, read that one first and then came here. This is such a great report, I have sat here and read all 11 pages. We were there Nov. 29 - Dec. 13 and know what you are talking about when you talk about how cold it was. It is freaking Florida, it shouldn't be like that.
It was freaky cold last December.
I love how you freaked out people with the fake baby, too funny.
Ahh Good times.
The shirts you two made were amazing, such a shame people didn't really get to see them.
I know, we spent so much time on them, that's why I am debating making new ones for my upcoming trip this December. I don't think Bo would wear one, at least not at this point, but she seems to be growing more Disney crazy as the days go on. I might make her a kermit one at least.
Lo's birthday sounded amazing. We have yet to eat at CRT, but are going to try it this December, yes we are crazy we are going back at the same time as last year, like you, your sister and your Mom. My birthday is Dec. 9th too and I am as crazy about WDW as you are.
Her Birthday was amazing, It was my first time at CRT and I loved it, again it's on the list for this trip. I totally think it's worth $$$$
Kent's message made me all teary eyed. I am so happy he left that message for you.
It did mean alot to me considering he had been such a poop head. I guess I needed to leave the house so he could "think" about how much he missed me.;)
Your Tink shirt is absolutely adorable!! Lo's zip up hoodie was really cute too.
I loved her hoodie, I didn't even know she had made it until we got to disney and she showed me. She mad really cute Minnie PJ's too.
I know what you mean about the cold putting you in a bad mood, it did the same for me.
I hated being in a bad mood at Disney, that;s the worst. I feel like it's time wasted. But the day did get better.
How great that you got to see PUSH!! I have never seen him, I am going to go looking for him in December.
I never knew his name was Push, thank you.
The pictures from Minnies house are awesome, I love how playful you two are.
I like to say that Disney world brings out the kid in me, but truthfully just about anything brings out the kid in me. I like having fun and I try and suround myself and vacation with fun people only.
I am sorry Lo was facebooking on the ride, couldn't it have waited 10 minutes?? I can be on my phone a lot but it goes in my pocket when we are on rides, WDW is more important :rotfl:.
what can I say? Lo is a facebook hound, she is always on, or texting or doing something with her phone, I think she feels she has to stay connected with home at all times. FOr me as long as I check in once or twice a day I'm fine with being away.
I would have been freaking out if people were petting my coat :scared1:. I have to have my personal space, I would be headed toward a panic attack, thank goodness Lo helped you out.I freak out at crowds so bad, I'm hoping that won't be the case when I go back. I'm working on that part of my life.

YAY about having Happy Birthday sung to you!!
She was so funny.
I can't wait to read what you did on the rest of your trip.
I'll post more on the trip soon.
I think we might have seen you guys on the Pop busses at some point, you two look familiar to us. Sorry about rambling, I will be better from now on :rotfl2:.

Are you serious? It wasn't the night that we were playing with the fart button on her phone was it? :lmao:

OMgosh, mrsksomeday. I just realized I used the same color to post as you did, I hope it doesn't make it hard for you to read my reply to you. LOL

Hey Ty! So apparently nobody mentioned that you had started a TR and I'm only discovering it now. I am definitely along for the ride but have lots to catch up on!

I just finished reading your TR up to now. I'm really enjoying your writing style. I've had quite a few laughs along the way. I went the same week you did but in 2009. It started out warm and sunny then became cold and rainy. But heck I'm from Ontario, it was just like being at home, only better because I was at Disney. How great for you that you have wonderful friends who love Disney as you do and are ready and willing to do a girls only trip. I'm very envious. I can't wait for your next installment.:)

HI! How was your trip? Missed you!

By the way, I loved the Mickey head tree necklace, sooo cute!

And the story teller in Italy is named La Befana or Befana.

I'm anxious to hear about your trip, call me!! :lovestruc

First time subbing to a TR bc your details are so amusing and I'm hoping to get tips for a trip I have planned in 2012 that are almost the same dates as yours for my DBF's and my bdays on the 3rd and 8th of Dec. popcorn::
Your pics are wonderful, esp the 'holding up the Epcot ball' and the soaring one. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to get those - definitely the visual aid pic opportunities like that are missing at DLR. CRT looks like a great choice for a bday dinner too! Thanks for writing all this up!

Hi long lost friend. I am sorry I didn't send out a memo about this TR, :lmao: but I am so happy that you gound it and are here now.

I was also at Disney the same week in 2009, I try to make it there every year the first week of Dec. I am going again this DEc too. I am hoping for better weather, last year was the coldest I had ever been in Florida, and the year before was chilly and rainy. I had gone in Dec 2007 and it was sunny and 70's that's what I am keeping my fingers crossed for.

HI! How was your trip? Missed you!

Hi Camille, I called you not too long ago and left a message, I hope to talk to you soon, I actually had wierd dreams all night that I was trying to call you and something kept happening to make it impossible, like one time I was dialing your number and the buttons on my phone burned my fingers, another time I tried dialing but the numbers kept changing on me, it was a crazy dream, I'll tell ya more about it when I talk to ya hopefully tonight, I'll also fill you in on my trip to MI.

Hi, thanks for reading. You will love Disney in december, it's really great, and I love celebrating my B-days there. This year I will be turning 40. I am hoping that being at Disney when that happens will help take some of the sting out of it.:lmao:

So fake birthday magic had finally happened for me, and even though my birthday was fake, the magic was real.

Lo had gotten me a birthday present, she was going to save it for my real birthday but since I had decided to celebrate this day she gave it to me this day. It was a ring.
100_5560.jpg

I don't know if you can see the ring too well, but it's a mickey head in what looks like a crown. I love this ring! and what do you think of my Disney nails? I call them "Fantasmic" I got a lot of compliments on them, if people only knew that these nails cost me 4 bucks at walgreens.:lmao::lmao:

Lo and I had back tracked through MK, we contemplated going on Splash Mountain, even though it was super cold that day, we had our ponchos, but in the end we didn't want to chance it. Through out the day though we would every once in a while say, "let's just do it." But I would come up with reasons not to, like the poncho won't keep my feet dry. We knew we would be back one more time, so SP could wait. I love the story Song of the south, but I hate getting wet, especially on a cold day.

We walked by Fantasy Land and I heard "Bippidy Bobiddy Boo, a happy Birthday to you."

disney001.jpg

It was my Fairy Godmother. Of all the times I had been to Magic Kingdom, I had never seen her up close and personal, I had seen her in parades but that was it. So I got my picture with her, another thing marked off my list. Lo got her picture too and told her that we had seen Cinderella earlier in the week when we had lunch in the castle.

We didn't go on anymore rides the rest of the day, we just walked, talked and Lo facebooked. I was up for some photo ops, things that I hadn't taken pictures of before, like this.
100_5539.jpg

This was new for me, I walked by it several times on my other trips, this time I actually stopped for a photo. I think this will make a great photo op with my sis and mom when we go this Dec. I can see us sending something like this to the relatives.

We were getting ready to leave but we needed a Dole Whip first. So we headed over to Aloha Isle and there wasn't a line at all, people must have thought it was too cold for ice cream, under normal circumstances I would agree with them, but we are talking Dole whips here.:cloud9:

We walked and ate them, it's always better to sit and enjoy, but I needed to stay moving so my blood wouldn't freeze.

We finished up the Dole Whips by main street and then ducked into a store to warm up. Lo was eyeing the Doonies again. She called her DH Ed.

"Would it be stupid of me to spend $200 on a purse?"

I am guessing he said yes and that didn't go over to well with Lo.

"I really want this purse and I have the money to get it but I am feeling guilty about spending that much on a purse, I called you to take the guilt away and talk me into buying it, so let's try this again, Would it be stupid of me to spend $200 on a purse?"

Her face changed expression as she put her phone on speaker and held it up for me to listen. "You deserve this purse, you earned this purse, it's just money so buy it."

"Thank you honey, I will think about it."

Lo hung up and went back to eyeing the purses, she at one point had hers picked out and was heading to the register when she decided to think on it for one more day. so we left the store empty handed.

We visited the confectionary shop on our way out too, I wanted a candy apple. It used to be you could get one using a snack credit, but they changed that now, it would be an OOP expense, I decided to wait for our next MK day. We then went further back into the hat store. I thought about having a personalized hat made for me, but decided since I already had minnie ears and a minnie ear santa hat I could wait for my next trip to make another ear purchase. As we were leaving I picked up the old fashion phone on the wall and to my total surprise and amazement I was listening to a conversation. It was funny cause the lady even said "Betty hang up, I know you're there I can hear you breathing." that wasn't verbatem, I can't even remember if she said Betty, but close enough, I handed th phone to Lo and the look on her face was priceless. I love that this phone was so random and I love that I discovered it on a whim, it seems so much cooler when you "find" something as opposed to reading about it and then finding it and giving it a try. Lo listened for a while and then we hung up and left the store.

We got stopped by yet another CM doing a survey. And just to let you know I am not even safe from Disney surveys at home, they sent one to my e-mail and I filled it out last night, it was about work out and spa facilities on property.

The bus ride back was empty and we got to sit down for the ride.

We did our traditional walk through the store when we got back and our traditional song of I want a hippopotamous for christmas was playing over head.

We didn't make any purchases and headed through the lobby to stay in the heat for a few minutes more. When we got to the baggage area there were two guys out there, CM's. One of them was wearing the mickey hands and in Mickeys voice said "Happy Birthday give me a high Five." so I high fived him then in his normal voice he told his coworker that they should sing happy Birthday to me, I was all about that. Honestly I was expecting a normal Happy Birthday song or even the funny, "Here is your birthday song and it's not very long HEY!' song, but no, they stood side by side and started humming in harmony, then they began a very slow very soulful rendition of Happy Birthday, I got chills, they sounded so amazing. Lo and I were both speechless and when they were done I gave them both huge hugs, "That was so great guys, you totally made my day, and I think ya'll need to be working in the entertainment industry, does corporate know how talented you are, cause they should."

We went back to our room, we stood in the elevator for a bit before remembering to push the button, we were still in shock over their voices. It didn't matter to me then anymore that I didn't get a phone call from Goffy like Lo did, I got serenated by two young good looking guys. I like to believe they don't do that for every guest wearing a birthday button, it was just a one time thing for me.:snooty:

In our room I took a very hot very bubbly bath and read some of the sappy novel I had brought from home. I wanted a quick read, something that didn't take much thought or brains, something to keep my mind just busy enough.

After my bath Lo was sleeping so I crawled into my bed and journaled for a while, then I went outside to make a few phone calls. I got a holed of Kent, I told him how much I loved the message he had left for me and I started asking questions which probably wasn't a good idea because he answered them honestly and it was things that I didn't really want to hear, not then, not at Disney, And I cried. The talk was long, and in the end I came to the conclusion that since he was so honest with me when I asked him to be that I couldn't be mad. I said I was glad he came clean and even though it hurt me to the core I was still willing to work on our marriage. He needed to come clean before we could move forward anyway.

My fingers were numb and my tears had all but frozen to my face so I said I would call him again later but for the time being I needed to go inside and get warm.

I accidentally woke Lo up when I came into the room. She could tell I had been crying so I assured her things were ok and Kent and I were just 'working' on things.

Lo and I discussed dinner, she was so against going down and eating burgers fries or chicken tenders, so we decided to call and order a pizza. While we were waiting for the delivery I ran down to the Pop shop and filled our mugs I also got us a dessert with our snack credits, I of course got the carrot cake, and Lo wanted the dirt pudding.

The pizza arrived seconds before I got back to the room. It smelled so good. they even provided us with plates, napkins knives and forks, plus pepper and parmesean cheese.

We sat at our little table and chowed down.
mydis075.jpg

We were discussing our plans for the next morning. Rope drop at AK, since we were only going to be there 1 day I told her it was crucial we make rope drop in order to get everything on our list done.

I was super stoked for AK. It used to be my least favorite park, now I don't think I have a least favorite, I like them all the same but for different reasons. I had never been to Festival of the Lion King and it was top priority for me. Lo had gone to Animal Kingdom with her family but she said she felt like they didn't do anything. She had gone on EE and primevil whirl. She had wanted to go on Dinosour but it had broken down while she was in line. So really this park was kind of new for her. She was just as stoked, I think.

We stayed up late watching TV, we both knew we should go to bed but we fought it.

We did eventually turn the TV off and go to sleep, I didn't sleep much though, I tossed and turned all night and had bad dreams. When the alarm went off I hit snooze once, I at least thought I had hit snooze.:confused3

When I finally did wake up it was a little past 10:00am. I woke up Lo. WE over slept and needed a new plan of attack.

mydis074.jpg

I don't know if flipping the picture makes it any easier to see the ring but I thought I would give it a try.

i could tell it was a crown wihtut flipping the picture!

i love the way lo set her dh straight about the purse! um, no, wrong answer:rotfl2:

and i know firsthand how oversleeping can change a vacation day. hopefully you found a good new plan.

I tried to call you back, but I think you were on here. :goodvibes The phone just kept ringing and the answering machine didn't pick up. Someone was on the phone.

I love your p.j.'s!! Too cute! Way cool about the guys singing to you!! It would have made my day too! :lovestruc

We'll catch eachother eventually! :thumbsup2

We had overslept and needed a new plan, I couldn't go to AK mid day, I needed a full day in order to guarantee our wants and needs of that park would be met.

We talked over our options. We had done 2 days at Epcot, we had already been to MK 3 times. We thought about going to AK for 2 days but nixed that quick and decided that we would just go hang out at Hollywood studios. We had gotten kind of board with it on our other HS day that's why we changed up our plans and tried to get everything done that one time, we had no intentions of going back again on that trip. We were sure we could find something to do again at HS.

We got ready and headed out the door.

Leading up to our trip Lo and I would get together every Thursday and do "Disney" stuff. One of those days we went to the dollar tree and got a bunch of Disney trinkets, goofy with a parachute was one of them, I really wanted to play with my new toy, so I went to the end of the building and tossed Goofy over the side.
mydis079.jpg

He glided ever so gently down to the ground.
Lo had gotten Donald duck, she tossed him over the side.
100_5567.jpg

Donald di not glide ever so gently, a wind came and sent him flying into the stairs, we found him decaptitated in the bushes below.
I had some nail glue with me so I used it to glue his head back on. I discovered later that I should have let the glue dry before putting him in my coat pocket, the next time I went to take him out his head was not glue onto his body but was instead glued to my pocket. He's still there.

The bus ride to HS was nice, we were practically the only ones on it. the smart people had gotten up early to go to the parks and get the most out of their day. Or maybe we were the smart ones, we had a great full night of sleep, none of us were tired what-so-ever and we had the bus to ourselves.
When we got to the park we didn't have to contend with crowds at bag check or finger scans, it's like the CM's we there just waiting for Lo and I.

We walked into HS and right away I saw a hottie checking me out, I had to pose for a pic with him.
100_5568.jpg

He was all about me. But I am a married lady and had to set this guy loose.
"We'll always have Disney I told him."

We took in a few shops, basically just looking at things we had already scene earlier. then Lo found a ring that she wanted to get for her oldest daughter, it was super cute. I had forgotten to wear earings that morning so I bought a pair so my ears wouldn't be naked, I actually bought a couple pair, I also bought a frame, it was half off since it had the year 2010 on it and they were already bringing out merchandise that said 2011. I had to buy another of the reusable bag, I knew I would be using them at home anyway for my groceries. I am trying to do my share for the environment.

At the checkout the lady tried to charge me for my Disney coat, I told her I had bought it a few days earlier at Epcot. She gave me a look like she wasn't sure if she could believe me, I offered to show her my receipt and then she was ok with me, she didn't need to see the receipt.

We left that store with some great goodies.

I had to get my picture with these ladies in the kick line.
100_5569.jpg

They were so cute.

It was around lunch time, I didn't even bother to check TSM for fast passes, I knew it would be useless. Oh well, no worries, I already had plans to come back with my sister in 2011, I would get to ride it then.

So our first ride of the day was ToT. As always it provided a scream and a giggle.
In the dump shop they had a marvelous smelling body wash and lotion, I wanted it so bad but we had plans to go to DTD and I wanted to see what Basin had, I was sure they would have more flavors to choose from, so I didn't buy the amazing body wash. I wish now that I would have.

Next of course was RnR. We were in the neighborhood so we just went on it.
there wasn't a long wait for ToT but RnR was about a 30 minute wait. We had nothing else to do so we rode standby.

Lo facebooked and I on a whim sent a text to my sister, if she was in between patients I knew she would text me back. I lucked out and she sent me a text. We discussed Disney and our trip. I was getting excited for that.

RnR was super fun. I got a little queezy, I think it was because I hadn't eaten yet. I shoppped around a bit in the dump shop hoping to find something for Jim and Reese. I had gotten them guitar picks in there before, but both kids say they are too flimsy and I needn't get them again. I couldn't find anything they had to have to I left empty handed.

We stopped and got a muffin and coffee, the cart wasn't able to take the DP so we paid oop and enjoyed every crumb and every drop of our brunch. That would hold us over to later.

We did the little mermaid show again, and TGMR again before going into the Disney animators studio. This time I was prepared.
100_5579.jpg

I had learned my lesson before, I thought I was some hot shot artist and didn't need to follow along visually on my drawing, I learned quickly that I was an idiot.

So this time I would keep my eyes on the instructor and take my time.
100_5577.jpg

This is an activity that never gets old, I could sit there all day and just draw pictures.
Lo agreed with me.

I wish I would have discovered this on my earlier trips. 06 and 08. I always just passed this place by not knowing that it was a hands on activity. I always thought it was just watching somebody else draw.

So the art lesson began and I followed along not doing so bad. In then end my picture turned out just ok, it was way better than my alien picture I had drawn before.
100_5582.jpg

Lo was disapointed that our drawing was of Stitch, she detests Stitch. I don't care much for him myself, but he is a Disney character and would look great on the wall next to the characters I drew on my trip in 09. One day I will have a wall covered in my drawings from HS.
Lo has plans to turn her family room into a Disney family room and her drawings would be a great addition to it as well. We had to go back in and do another drawing, it's fun and it's free and we had nothing but time on our hands.

Our next drawing was lot's of fun. I had a harder time with this one, I couldn't get mine to look like "him" and it didn't look cartoony enough for my taste. I worked and worked at it. an eraser would have been fantastic.
In the end I don't think it looks too bad, but I know if I had more time I could have done better.
100_5583.jpg

We had plans to go back in and draw another, I don't remember what happened to change our plans, I don't really remember a ton of details about that day, I didn't journal about that day so I know of what we did but mostly just the gist of it, not the majors of it.

100_5580.jpg

I do know that this is the last picture I took that day.

We watched the block party bash from a distance, there wasn't a need to be up close to it. I wasn't up for the crowd of people.

We wandered alot and grew bored pretty quickly, we thought maybe we would go see the Beauty and the beast show, Lo didn't feel like it and I figured I knew I would definitley be doing this show with my sister so it didn't matter much to see it then.

We skipped alot, we didn't do the back lot tour, the extreme stunt car show, the Indiana jones show. All things that I would be doing on my next trip.

I was restless and ready to go back to the resort but feeling guilty that I was wasting a park ticket.

We decided to eat an early dinner at HS before heading to the room and then going to DTD that night.

Lo did not want burgers or chicken, we checked out a few places but she didn't like any of the menus, then we found a little spot that sold corn dogs, so she got one and ate it on the way to the commisary. I wanted the fish again.

She did end up using her QS to get a burger and fries at the commissary though, she figured she could at least eat the fries and the 4 pices of shrimp that come with the burger.

We got our food and condiments and sat down. It wasn't easy getting the condiments, there was a child at the condiment counter who had toys set up around there and was playing, his parents kept calling him to come eat his food but he ignored them. Everybody had to step around the kid and lean over the kid to get what they wanted.

We sat down at a table far from everybody. Lo tried the shrimp and hated it, she tried some of my fish and hated it, she hated the fries, she hated the burger. It wasn't until I dipped my fries in the ketchup (I usaully eat my fries with Mayo) that I realized something was off, I tasted her burger and yup it was off. It was the ketchup! it was nastiness! yuck!
Then color me stupid I figured out that it was barbque sauce, so I went back to get ketchup thinking she made a mistake and got the wrong thing, I stepped around the kid playing with his toys and got some ketchup from the marked ketchup dispensor, it smelled like barbque sauce, all of the Ketchup dispensors on that side of the restaurant were filled with BBQ sauce, so I went to the other side and got the right thing.

Lo's fries and shrimp tasted much better then.

I was loving the fish until I bit into one and my mouth filled with grease. gag, that was a first, normally the fish there isn't really greasy, it just gave me the wrong vibe for the rest of our dinner. I ate my fries (with mayo) and then focused on dessert.

It was at this dinner that we got into talking about our favorite shows growing up. Most of the ones I loved Lo didn't watch because she was a teenager in highschool while I was still in elementary school. But we both agreed that 8 is enough was a good show.

I could not miss an episode of BJ and the bear or Dukes of Hazard. We both like love boat and Fantasy Island. talking about Fantasy Island led us to Lost, also they ketp showing clips of lost.

Lo said she was looking for a show that her and Ed could watch over the winter, she had never seen lost. :scared1: REALLY? How could anyone have not seen lost.
My DH an dI were so hooked on this show, we missed the first few seasons on TV so we just rented the DVD set and we would watch 2 to 3 episodes every night, it was nice not having to wait for the next epside to come out once a week, no commercials, it was only the last season that we had to do that. the season finale, anyway I told her it was something that her and Ed would love. I am hoping to find another show like that for Kent and I to get into, so far we havent found anything that we can't live without. I miss those "Lost" marathons."

After dinner we left Hs and went back to our room. We got on jammies and watched TV, we said we would head to DTD later that evening but we got lazy and decided to do DTD another day.

About 8ish we went to Everything Pop to get some dinner. I had a burger and I think Lo got nachos. We fille dour mugs with hot chocolate and took a little stroll down by the lake then went back to our room again, we watched Miracle on 34th street, it had been on a while so we only saw the end, then we flipped through the channels before deciding to call it a night.

That was our last HS day, I could have had a longer update had I journaled that day, but oh well.

Next day would be AK. I set the alarm clock and the alarm on my phone, there was no way I would miss rope drop.

EWwwwwwwwwwww BBQ on everything- yuck! No wonder it tasted yucky! One of those things that if you're not expecting it, it's just wrong.

Great pic of you and Bo. :thumbsup2

I can't even imagine how long your update would have been if you'd journaled. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I do hope things are going ok with you and Kent. Call if you need to...

Love the drawings... I have put this on my list of MUST Do's. My dd is an excellent artist so this would be perfect for her.... and I would love to try my hand at drawing Disney characters!! :goodvibes

This last update sounded like you guys were growing bored with going to Disney! :scared1:

Taking notes makes a big difference huh? I'm so determined to take notes when I go and then I end up not finding the time to do it. I hate doing a report without them and then I end up not doing the report. Meh! What are you gonna do? :confused3

I hope you all made it up the next morning for AK. :goodvibes

BBQ on everything especially when you are expecting ketchup is horrible, we thought the food was bad, we never even considered that it could be the non ketchup.

I can't believe I didnt journal that night, it shows in this TR too.

Things are ok with Kent, thanks for offering your ear though.

It is so much fun, I try and do it a couple of times while I'm at DHS. It's the best free souvenir you can get.

Bored with a capitol B. I think we had so much down time because we didn't do the TSDP, I never realized how much time it takes to have a sit down meal. I'm still happy with how our trip went, but for my next trip since we are not doing the TSDP again we have really researched more things to do at the parks and resort to keep up busy.

I love to journal, especially on trips, I very seldom journal at home, sometimes if a fantastic thing happened or it were an extraordinary day I will write about it. But really it's only when I travel that I journal most, I like to think I have a good memory, I can memory the big things but sometimes it's the small things that need remembering too.
I hope you all made it up the next morning for AK. :goodvibes

No worries.

December 9th. My actual birthday. My cell phone rang very early that day, 4:00am. It was Kent, I knew by the ring tone. I hate getting calls that early in the morning, they are never good news. I thought for a second it might be something with his Grandma, she hadn't been doing too well before I left. (She was fine, still is)
I answered expecting bad news but instead he said he wanted to be the first to wish me a happy birthday. I thanked him and told him that was a great way to start my birthday, he didn't say anything more so I told him I loved him and hung up.

I went back to sleep with no worries about anything.

When our alarm went off I was up and in the shower immediatley, there would be no dilydalying around this morning. I got my shower and then called to Lo.
"Get up Lo, we need to make rope drop!"

"I'm up, I'm up." she sounded non too pleased, but she was up and walked groggily, looking like a drunken sailor into the shower.

I had major plans for this day, I was going to see Festival of the Lion King. I hadn't seen it on any of my prior trips, there would be no missing it this time.
And I was excited for Lo for this park, she had missed alot of it on her trip, she just wasn't aware of all it had to offer.

AK used to be my least favorite park, I would plan it for the beginning of the trip just to hurry up and get it over with, but I have really come to love this park now and can't wait to go back.

Since our park days had gotten switched around a couple of different times, the line up for my wardrobe had gotten switched around too, I had something more animal kingdomy to wear but I really loved the Mickey cowboy I had painted that I was going to wear to DHS on my real birthday along with my pink cowgirl hat with the tiara,

Lo and I had agreed we would wear tiaras on our birthdays, but I am not really a tiara kind of girl, I am a cowgirl hat or ball cap kind of girl, so this was perfect, I remember the day we went to Party city looking for party supplies for her halloween party and I saw this hat, it was perfect for me.

I ended up not wearingit to the park, I thought as cute as it was it would probably be more of a hinderance and I needed to focus on AK, not my hat. So I took a picture just for whatever reasons, just for ya'll readers.

The bus was full but not overly crowded. The drive there took forever, I was excited. We had made it there waaaaay before rope drop so we had plenty of time to take pictures around the entrance. I mostly took pictures with my phone and send it to my friend Brit who abosolutely loves giraffes.

We headed in for the rope drop show and had places up front, normally I am at the back of the crowd, I was a bit nervous thinking once it was time to head further into the park that I would be trampled by people, people want their expedition everest and their safari and sometimes they don't care who they knock down to get it. I had my first bad rope drop experience on my first trip to WDW in 06, it was just Reese and I at the park that day, the guys stayed at the resort. Once that rope dropped people actually put their hand on my back and pushed me forward, Reese and I got seperated. It all ended well and we managed to make a joke out of it later and had the best mother daughter day at AK.

So anyway to say I was nervous that morning would be an understatement.

Minnie and Mickey came out and went through the whole park touring musts.

After checking off on the list all the essentials we were released into the wild.

It was a calm wild. there wasn't any running or pushing to get ahead. We had a nice walk to Expedition Everest, we even stopped to take in the scenery. there were a ton of monkeys playing around and I wanted my picture with them in the back ground, as soon as I turned around and Lo got ready to take the picture, the monekys all ran away.

I guess they were camera shy.

The first thing we did was get FP's for Everest, we were sure we would be doing this ride again later, we could have then just moved onto something else, but I was told that the stand by line had a lot of neat things to look at, so we we decided to ride standby just for the line. It was a posted wait time of 15 minutes. At first we just kept walking and walking, I thought we were going to walk right up to the ride and miss everything cool in the line, but soon enough we hit the end of the line and just stopped, we waited and waited, but I was told correctly, there was a lot to look at and alot to read so the waiting wasn't bad at all.

When we finally made it to the CM who asks how many in your party I said 2 and then Lo asked if we could sit in the very back. He gave us the nod, even though we would have alittle bit longer of a wait now. I didn't mind waiting longer, but I wanted to be close to the front so I could see the broken tracks and the yeti. I figured on our next go round I could ask for the front.

It was chilly that morning, a great day to start out and expedition like this. I was getting a little nervous now. I didn't ride this one on my last visit, I like roller coasters, I hate the climb though, the clickety clack until youget to the top and then the pause before you are pushed over the hill. It's worse in the back, you kind of just wait for the front to go over, it's very slow and then all of a sudden you get the whip.

I had remembered this ride all wrong, and I kept saying to Lo once we were in our seats and headed to the mountain that I didn't remember any of this part. The major parts stand out, the climb, the broken tracks, the going bacwards and the yeti. These were all in my mind and they seemed pretty freaky, I was ready for the thrill, I was ready to be scared. I wanted my stomached to flip and I wanted the uncertainty of each next turn.

I got most of that, it was fun, but once the ride was over I looked at Lo, "When did this ride get lame? It felt like a kiddy coaster."
Yes, Expedtion Everest bored me, that was a first. I had loved this ride and deemed it Disneys Best on my other vacations, now it's just Meh.

We then headed to the Safari, I missed this on my last trip because it was cold and raining and I just didn't want to be at AK that day. Lo hadn't gone on it at all, so it was completely new for her and somewhat new for me.

We ran into this gal on the way to safari, she didn't have a line and looked bored, I didn't have my picture with her yet so I fixed that right away, I can't remember her name now, but I did back then. Help me out people.

I will be back later to post about the safari.
