This freezing weather is crampin my style! A Dec 2010 TR

So that day was my fake birthday and so far it was starting out great, except for my hair, that was crappy.

I had on my birthday button, but nobody was wishing me a happy birthday, I wasn't getting any of that extra magic from CM's. It was like I was invisible, I started wondering if they somehow knew it was my fake birthday. An all points bulletin went out over the Disney waves, picture included. "This is Ty, she's wearing a birthday button, SHE IS A LIAR! Give her no magic whatsoever!"

The bus driver looked skeptical of me, he didn't wish me a happy birthday, but he did point out that I was wearing a button. "Oh your button says it's your birthday."

I smiled, "Sure does."

He just nodded.

Can you see how I would be thinking that they were on to me? Wouldn't you feel the same way?

The ride to MK was meh, nothing special, the walk to MK from the bus stop was just as meh.

The wait to go through the ticket line was busy and I went un-noticed. "There's Ty, meh."

Inside was packed and slow moving, we cut through the Emporium, it was in the store that I decided to buy a Minnie mouse santa hat, it was festive, it was warm and it would hide my bad hair day. Lo decided to get one too.

The CM was super slow ringing us up, I was gettting nervous, we were really cutting it close for our ADR at Crystal Palace. I hate feeling that rushed especially when there is nothing I can do about it. I can't make the CM move any faster but after a long checkout process Lo and I wore our hats out of the store and over to CP.

I gave them my name and they gave me a buzzer. It looked alot like Lo's phone. I turned to Lo, "Guess who I am?" I asked and started pretending to text and facebook and everything else she did with her dang phone. she uses the side of her pinky to type, it's actually quite dainty looking, I had it down pat. She swatted me on my arm and laughed, she knew I was mocking her, it was funny so I kept going.

" I wanna ask Desi wht she's wearing today." type type type,
" I wanna tell Ed I'm at MK." type type type
" I'm going to update my facebook and post that I am about to eat breakfast with winnine the pooh." type type type

Our buzzer went off before I could have too much fun. I was about to have a meltdown as to why my screen went blank. "I hate this stupid phone!"

We were taken in and I tried really hard to push my chest out and show that I was wearing a birthday button, but it both my button and chest were ignored.

We were given a tiny table for two, hardly big enough for both of us to put our elbows on. The CM explained the workings of CP for Lo and then took a drink order from us.
We ordered coffee and orange juice. Before I culd even take off my coat Eeyore showed up.

His ear was covering my face so I had to hold it back.
I had Lo snap off a picture. I have lots of pics of me witht he 100 acre wood characters so I didn't really need anymore, just one with Tigger is all I really needed.
I took off my coat and was happy that at least for the next 40 minutes my stuper cute TInk shirt I painted would be seen.

Lo was actually wearing a a zip up hoodie that she painted, she got compliments all day. I got nothing! not even a fake happy birthday.

Our coffee came out, I was super excited for a warm drink as it was super duper cold outside. The coffee was way to strong for me, I tried to cream it down and sugar it up but it still ended up tasting the way burnt rubber smells.


We headed to the buffet to get some great morning vittles, I got me lots of fresh fruit and yogurt and some bacon and some pancake type thing, no need for syrup, it was in the pancake, yummy.

We went back to the table and dug in. All of it was so good, I really like the CP breakfasts. Is it worth the money to pay OOP? no, but I would still do it, you are paying extra for the characters and fun.

Lo had finished her plate and was heading back for another, I saw Tigger comming so I told her to be back quickly so I could get my pic with him.
Well 15 minutes later Tigger had come and gone and Lo was still not back yet, she was in line waiting for eggs to be cooked to her satisfaction, or maybe she was waiting for more bacon or pancakes, I can't remember, bottom line is I was super bummed to have missed my photo opp with Tigger.

Lo was super apologetic and tried to come up with every solution she could to get my pic with Tigger, but I was just being difficult, it was my fake birthday and nobody wished me a fake happy birthday.
Piglet came through and Lo told him it was my birthday, and ya know what the little guy did? He turned my day around. He tapped out the song Happy Birthday with his foot. It was so neat and I loved it.

OK finally one birthday wish from Piglet, now I can say I had a Disney/MK birthday experience.

We didn't see much of our server that day, we actually had to ask the server from the table next to us for an OJ refill. And then we had to ask that same server for our check, our server was no where to be seen, she did bring out our check and a cupcake for me with a candle in it. Lo and I were full but we split the cupcake, I didn't want to be rude and leave it and it wasn't something I could take with me. I had to do that thing that kids do where you smash up the food and spread it around your plate to make it look like you ate something.

We paid the check, ouch! it really hurt my wallet. I knew it would be much, but still seeing it in print made it real. But like I said I would do it again.

We left CP and went back out into the cold, it was putting me in a bad mood, I can understand a few cold days here and there, but c'mon, it was everyday, I was so tired of being so cold all the time.

We had no game plan for the day, obviously. We just moved witht he crowd, it was a small crowd at that, the crowds had cleared out and it was smoothing sailing in the park that day.

We decided to head to toon town, we stopped and got our picture taken by the castle.

I;ve never had my picture taken in front of the castle from that angle, I think I like it better than the front of the castle picture, probably because there are no people walking behind me I guess. It looks like a clean shot.

I saw that the Tangled characters were going to have a meetngreet soon, actually like in 20 minutes, but it was too cold to stand still and wait for that, we needed to keep moving so the blood in our bodies wouldn't freeze. Even Lo complained of the cold and she never complains about that.

We found ourselves going into alot of shops just to escape the chilliness. I knew we would be making this a short day. I just wasn't feeling the magic at all.[/COLOR]

Lo and I wandered aimlessly. This is why people have touring plans, so you don't end up wandering aimlessly. We had done most everything that we had wanted to do, some of it we had done twice, even thrice. (I've always wanted to say thrice, another thing crossed off my list.)

We walked over to the speedway, the line was long and I just wasn't into riding in an open car with cold air blasting in my face, even if it was only at 5 MPH. I was walking slow that day just to keep the wind factor down.

We considered going on Stitch's great escape, but the best part of that whole ride is the exit, so we skipped it.

I wanted to go in the store where Lo had gotten her phone call from Goofy, I could have used a little goofy pick me up. I didn't tell Lo that that was the reason I wanted to go in there, I said I wanted to look at the thing I wanted for my car.

I walked by the CM at the desk, I angled myself just right so she could see my birthday button, she smiled and nodded at me, I smiled and nodded back, I raised my eyebrows at her in question, like Well? Isn't there somebody on the phone just dying to wish me a happy birthday? She didn't catch on, So I tried to draw attention to my birthday button but she looked away, drats, I was going to have to buy something to open up the conversation. So I picked out a keychain, I needed to get a few things for my friends at Bed, Bath and Beyond anyway. I placed my tiny purchase on the counter and she rang me up. I paid her, she handed me my bag and said Happy Birthday.

"Thank you," I said, probably with more excitement than she expected. I stood waiting for her to tell me that I had a phone call... nothing, so I walked away.

"Excuse me Ma'am."

"Yes?" I was ready to talk to Goofy, I'm sure that's why she called me back, but when I turned around she was holding my gloves, I had forgotten them.

Oh well, I guess it was stupid to think I would get any pixie dust on my fake birthday, I gave up trying.

We walked out of the store and nearly got hit by a trash can. He was talking.
in all my years of Disneying at Magic Kingdom I have never seen the talking trash can. Another first off the list. Lo had never even heard of the talking trash can, I told her that ever since I had read about it on the dis I was hoping to see it some day.

He said you look like like you've just seen a talking trash can. Lo and I were busting up laughing, we tried to find the guy working the thing but we couldn't. He was hidden well.

We hadn't done Toon town yet so we headed in that direction. I thought that Toon Town would have been torn down by the time our trip came around, I even told Lo that it probably wouldn't be there, so of course we were both happily surprised our first MK day that it was indeed still up.

We went straight to Minnies house. Lo fell in love with it right away, her and Minnie could be roomies she said, they both had "pink" taste.

It wasn't busy in there so we took our time taking pictures, Lo took a little nap on the couch. (That picture is on her phone) and then we went into Minnies craft room. I used the time to channel my creative side.

Of course you can't really tell from the picture but I was singing the song from the movie ghost. I like to think that Patrick Swayze was behind me helping me shape this great clay vase. The phone rang interupting my romantic ghost moment, I had to run and answer it, It could have been Goofy calling to wish me a happy birthday, I can't miss that call.

It was a wrong number.

Lo and I poked around in the kitchen, it seems rude I know but we went through Minnies cuboards and refridgerator. There was a cake cooking in the oven so Lo and I took a seat at the table and sipped on some tea until the cake was done.

After Tea and cake we went to Mickeys house. We just did a quick walk through, his place was pretty crowded that day and it was hard to take a picture.

We contemplated riding Goofys barnstormer, but decided we could live without it.

We headed back to Fantasyland and didn't do much of anything, we did pose with Dumbo.

But we didn't actually ride dumbo, again it was just too cold.

I was bored. I know! how does that happen at Disney world? We needed to find something fun to do because I was ready to head back to the resort and it was barely lunch time. I knew if I got to the resort I would still be bored and I felt like it would be a waste of Disney time.

We passed Haunted Mansion I asked Lo if she wanted to go on that and she said no, so I was like alright what do you want to do?

"I don't care, it's your birthday, what do you want to do?"

"Ummm, the haunted mansion."

So we got in line. While in line Lo got a text from her friend in Ca. asking if Lo had mailed the sweater she wanted to borrow for a Christmas party, Lo had not, she forgot. So she had to get busy on her face book and ask her friend staying at the house to get the sweater out of the closet and mail it to her other friend in Ca.
This took a lot of time. We had gotten into our doom buggys and Lo was still on her phone facebooking.

"The light from your phone is kind of ruining the effect of the ride."

"I know, I'm sorry, I have to do this."

Lo finished up by the graveyard scene. but the light from her phone had kind of messed with certain effects by then, at times I could see my lit up reflection in the walls, especially at the ballroom scene. It was wierd. I wasn't mad, it's not like I had never been on this ride, or that it was my first time and it was forever ruined. It just made the ride different.

Lo asked me when we were off the ride if everything was ok. I told her I wasn't feeling Magic Kingdom that day, I wasn't feeling much of anything except being cold.

We went into the Christmas shoppe, it was sort of warm in there. Lo was looking for a hidden mickey ornament for her tree. She found a real pretty silver one, or maybe it was white I can't remember, I just know it was gorgeous. A CM came over and started petting my coat, "Oh this is so soft, and I bet it's really warm" then she called her coworker over to pet my coat as well. It was crowded in this little store and I was backed into a corner by two CM's stroking each of my arms and talking to eachother about how soft and comfortable this coat felt. I was sure at any moment they were going to start feeding me peanuts. I looked around for Lo and saw her also searching for me, we made eye contact and I am so happy she could read my mind. "Get me the heck out of here."

Lo came over and grabbed my arm, "We gotta go now if we plan to make our reservation on time."

We didn't have any reservations anywhere, but it was a good lie to get me out of there.

We walked down by the water and looked at the ducks, then we went into more shops. Lo had a leather bracelet engraved for one of her kids. I found a little lamp that would go awesome in my red room next to woodstove. It would be the perfect little hidden Mickey I needed. I didn't get it at that time. We had one more Magic Kingdom day left later in the week so I would pick it up then, cause by then I would also have a payday from work.

We left and back tracked so we could find a potty. After that business was done we crossed through and ended up in Adventureland. We figured we would keep going and take a ride on The jungle boat cruise. We hadn't gone on it yet. She said her and her family had missed that ride some how on their trip.

The line was nothing, we were on a boat in minutes. Our captain was a young lady who really played her part well, maybe too much even, her over acting was annoying but she still got alot of laughs.

I had heard it all before, the whole "Inspirtaton falls inspiring you to go.....further and further into the jungle." the back side of a waterfall is always funny.

We had finished our whole tour but we had to wait to dock, the boat in front of us was having issues. My phone rang at that point and the Capt turned to me.
"Are you getting a text message?"

"Yes"

"Because it's your birthday?"

It wasn't my birthday, I couldn't tell her that though and that the text message was from my DD complaining about her Chem teacher hating her.

"Yes." I lied

"Can I sing you happy birthday?"

"Sure go ahead."

So she said she would need some help, "Give me a beat." and she gets everybody clapping and sings Happy birthday to me."

"Did you like that?" she asked

"I loved it thank you."

"Would you like for me to sing it to you backwards now?"

"Yea, if you can."

"Sure I can." So she turns around so her back is to me and sings it again. she turned back around and asked me why I was laughing.

"Because of what you just did."

"What? I said I would sing it backwards....ooooohhhhh, you thought I was going to sing the words backwards? Yea, why would I learn how to do that? that's just stupid."

So the over acting boat Captain had just given me some Disney Magic, I was called out and noticed and sang to and I loved it. It made my whole fake birthday day.

We left and watched the pirate tutorial, I had seen it before and loved it, Lo hadn't seen it but she loved it and can't wait for Joey and the rest of her family to see it. The Captain Jack I had seen the first time was so much better than this one, this one was still good though, but the other was way better. I didn't tell Lo that, she was super into this one, why burst her bubble and tell her there's a better Jack out there.

We rode POC again. It was there and the line wasn't, so why not?

By then it was after lunch so we thought we would grab some food. Again we had trouble deciding where we wanted to eat. I wanted Columbia Harbour house so bad but I knew Lo wouldn't find anything in there that she liked. We were tired of burgers and chicken tenders, I think I have already hit on that subject more than once. then I rememebered that Pecos Bill has Taco salads. Lo was all about that. So that is where we headed.

We got our taco salads and drinks, I went for the chocolate cake this time instead of the carrot cake. I loaded my taco salad up with all kinds of stuff, And lo doesn't like sour cream, so I got extra sour cream on mine too. This fake birthday was really turning aorund now.

I dug into my salad and was just so happy it wasn't a burger. I ate it slowly and savored each non burger, non chicken tender bite. I went back for some extra salsa at one point.

halfway through the salad I started fearing that I wouldn't have room for my chocolate cake, so I did the smart and mature thing, I ate my cake. Yes I went out of food order, because when I finished my cake there was still room for more taco salad. I ate almost the whole danged thing. So did Lo. I am telling you if it were a burger I probably would have been able to eat only half and that was it.

We sipped our soda's and let our food settle. The place was kind of empty so we didn't feel like were taking up any seating that was needed. We stayed in there for almost an hour after we finished our meal. We talked about home and Disney and the rest of the week, would it play out like we had planned on paper? Cause so far we had made quite a few changes to our plans already and things still seemed to be working out ok.

I loved Pecos Bill's! We ate there for the first time last year on a whim, and couldn't believe how nice it was. Not very crowded and plenty of seating. Glad to hear that the birthday wishes started coming! You deserved a special fake birthday!

Hi friends.
I will be back to update next week. I leave for Michigan tomorrow. Today was super busy. Reese had her job shadow today at Empire Beauty school. She loved it, so I will be meeting with them in a few weeks to get more infor.

Reese also bought her first car today. she was so excited. It's a good first car, a Dodge Dynasty. It's older than dirt. '88. But it has a new engine, the body is in great shape and it runs and drives so smooth. It was owned by a grandma who only drove it to Wal Mart and church.

She's so danged little though that she had to pull the bench seat all the way up to reach the pedals which left me sitting with my knees in my arm pits. Picture the grinch on that tiny little car and that's me.

If I get a chance to check in from Michigan I will, just in case I still have a few readers out there...just in case

I loved the PTR title, read that one first and then came here. This is such a great report, I have sat here and read all 11 pages. We were there Nov. 29 - Dec. 13 and know what you are talking about when you talk about how cold it was. It is freaking Florida, it shouldn't be like that.

I love how you freaked out people with the fake baby, too funny.

The shirts you two made were amazing, such a shame people didn't really get to see them.

Lo's birthday sounded amazing. We have yet to eat at CRT, but are going to try it this December, yes we are crazy we are going back at the same time as last year, like you, your sister and your Mom. My birthday is Dec. 9th too and I am as crazy about WDW as you are.

Kent's message made me all teary eyed. I am so happy he left that message for you.

I know what you mean about the cold putting you in a bad mood, it did the same for me.

I am sorry Lo was facebooking on the ride, couldn't it have waited 10 minutes?? I can be on my phone a lot but it goes in my pocket when we are on rides, WDW is more important .

I would have been freaking out if people were petting my coat . I have to have my personal space, I would be headed toward a panic attack, thank goodness Lo helped you out.
