This flips me out!!

and I didn't personally attack anyone, unlike "hugsquared"... maybe next time I'm walking down the hall, and the chambermaid is cleaning your room, and hasn't not yet gotten to your bathroom, I should stop in and use it, and say it's an 'emergency' and my room is too far away... hey, what can it hurt, she's going to clean it anyway as so many of you have said

....I'm sure no one would be thrilled about that!

but, whatever... that's what makes this world great... I can have my own opinion, and you all can let strangers use your bathroom!
Gee, did I mention you or post your name? There are a dozen or more replies on here stating practically the same position you had. And sweetheart, if you need to use my bathroom, I would more than gladly let you. If it meant the difference between you, or anyone else having an accident in their clothes, by all means, I don't think your behind is any better or worse than most peoples. Sorry you got your panties bunched up by my reply to almost 40 posts but believe me when I say, I did not single you out to pick on you. I barely notice who posts most threads, I just respong with MY opinion. And this is not sarcasm, its the truth. Someone, and this time I'll gladly comment that it's you, needs to take a deep breathe and relax a little. And thanks for letting me share my thoughts. :love2:

Sorry, if someone is so ill that they have to drop on the nearest potty, they shouldn't be at work. And I don't want anyone using my hotel room while I'm out. Cleaning it, fine, but not using it, and we've all read other posts on this thread about mousekeeping using the rooms for other things. I find it rude, vulgar, and totally unprofessional.

But how cool, my first total flame thread  !

Y'all are much better people than I, truly - I'd make a bigger stink that she did, and not think twice about it.

(the unrepentant) KC :sunny:
....This is totally not a flame, just saying....

Sometimes if you're sick, you still have to work. Disney isn't exactly the friendliest place to call in sick with.

And besides, how do you know the housekeeper just didn't reclean the bathroom when they were done?

God forbid anyone went to the bathroom the day before someone else stayed in the room.

And those employees bathrooms? Yeah. They're REALLY far away from the guest rooms, so it was probably a choice of going in her pants, or going in the bathroom where she was.

I'd bet she was really embarrassed, and I'd feel sorry for her rather than being angry at her daring to use a toilet she has to scrub daily. This is Much Ado About Nothing in my book.

OH MY GOD!!!!! I refuse to have this childish argument with you. I've got better things to do.

HOLY CRAP!!! :teeth:

How did a conversation about poop turn so ugly? :rotfl2:

I really don't see the big deal as long as she cleaned it afterward. I'm sure the mousekeeper was embarrassed. If I had walked in on her, I would have been shocked, but not angry. Many butts have been there before mine, I'm sure, so what's one more? :confused3

With an attitude like this, you really should change your screen name. ("poohlvr" - get it?!?) :rotfl2:

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

If this happened to me, I would expect a ZOO of towel animals after she left! And an apology. But, I don't think it's THAT big a deal. If she took a SHOWER, different story. Using the rest room, IMHO, while not the most ideal of circumstances, is one of the more minor inflagrations of the mousekeeping staff. I'd bet this happens all the time (maybe not #2, but #1 pretty frequently). They're in the room all by themselves - they COULD be rifling through your things, stealing your valuables, wearing your clothes, eating your food - those are major violations. Using the rest room, though... minor.

My sis in law had colon cancer at age 29 and as a result of the chemo and radiation she has frequent sudden bouts of uncontrollable diarrhea. Not a pleasant thing to have to live with, but fortunately a minor inconvenience in respect to her cancer having been cured. If she was employed as a mousekeeper I am sure there would be times when she would HAVE to use the nearest toilet immediately, and it usually DOES smell pretty bad (she's had to use the toilet at my house). Does this mean she should be barred from working as a mousekeeper just in case, God forbid, she had to use the toilet? I'm sure this wasn't a daily occurence for the mousekeeper in question. I just don't see where this is a big deal. It's not like others haven't used the toilet in question.

Shame on all of us!! Now quit it, and quit beating up on poohlvr, who by the way is a LOVELY person. Her I know as a real person, not as just a screen name, and I'm horrified at how nasty and smug you all are being. Yeah, you disagree, yeah, she's a little senstive, but lighten up, Frances.

If any maid, in any hotel, uses my room, for ANY reason, I'm sending a letter to have her reprimanded. It's a business, people. Disney magic notwithstanding. I'm paying for the use of the room. It's not about the 'ewww' factor, it's about RESPECTING the fact that I PAID for the room. Any hotel in American would come down on a maid who was reported using a guest room for their personal use like a box of rocks. And I called the hotel manager of the resort we'll be staying at in November, and asked them if it was OK for a maid to use my hotel room to potty while she was working, and he said absolutely not, the housekeeping managers have told their staffs this many times, and the staffs have scheduled breaks for this reason, and that any maid who was found to be using the TV or the bathroom in a guest room would be fired on the spot.

End of discussion, one can only hope.

As the OP on this thread, I'm asking that this thread be closed, and that everyone get back to fun, happy discussions, darnit! And I'm not sending any stupid hugs to anyone, either - I'll hug poolvr when I see her in real life.

KC (not feeling very :sunny: today!)

I think she, the house keeper was doing an excellent job. She was stress testing the facilities. Ultimate in Customer Service. Toilet works well under exterme conditions, Check. Onto the bed and Spring testing, where is my partner. "Maybe I should wash my hands, before making some towel characters". Hey Maybe thats why some times you don't get towel people. Disney Housekeeping Manual " Rule number 1000-01. If you use the guests facilities for a Winnie the Pooh Break, Under no circumstances are you to make funny Characters with the Towels. Guests will assume you have no talent or were not tipping enough, But please don't forget to flush."

I might make jokes, I don't think I mind about someone using the bathroom, However I would be quite offended by catching them in the act. ,

I don't know. You started a thread to bash some poor Mousekeeper. I am quite certain she wouldn't have chosen to use the RR there. But she has a job to do. If she doesn't, she won't get paid. It is nice to see some with compassion.

Before this thread egts closed, I want to share what happened to us.

We were house hunting. We had found a house we wanted to put an offer on, but I wanted my BIL to check it out 1st. He's a builder. Our realtor could not make the appointemnt, but he sent his father (who works for him) to open the house up for us. Because it was an opportunity to see the house agai, I invited a close friend and my sister to check it out with us. So, we get there, and the father comes along and unlocks the house. While my BIL is doing his inspection with my DH tagging along, the women folk are exploring the "neat" things about the house. All of a sudden, we get near the downstairs bathroom, and the smeel was so horrendous, I seriously thought there was a problem with the septic. I mean, i was really going on and on about how gross it was, and we better check into it before we put an offer, my sister was worried right along with me. Mind you, I am mentioning all this to the realtor. Telling him to have his son look into it, ect. My friend was laughing and shaking her head, when my Dh and BIL came along, they got the smell, and horror struck my DH's face. Finally my friend said she saw the old man come out of the bathroom. He used it to go #2. Boy, did I feel bad, I probably embarrassed the heck out of him! My sister and my friend disagreed about feeling bad, they both thought it was extremely rude of him to do something like. I still felt bad for the guy, he obviously had to go.

I'm with the minority on this one...I would have been upset as well (and no...it wouldn't have ruined my vacation, as some here automatically assumed)!

The housekeepers are there to clean your room and get out ASAP. You are renting your resort room and for those few days, it is where you live. What would some of you say if, while renting an apartment, the property manager had to go really bad and stepped into your apartment and used your toilet because it was inconvienient for him make it back to his apartment/office? Just because you have the keys and access doesn't allow resort CMs to use your room as a public bathroom.

Disney management would have definitely heard from me on this one...extremely inappropriate and unprofessional!

Not the same thing. If the Mousekeeper was just "passing by" and popped in the room to use the toilet, then hell ya! There would be a reason to complain. She was IN THE ROOM doing her job. If the apartment super in your example was not "passing by" but was in the apartment fixing the plumbing and he had to go, wouldn't you give him the courtesy of using your toilet? Or would you make him run to his own?

The real question is, did she get a tip? :teeth:

I swear I'm not trying to start an argument but my assumption is, that it wasn't done for convience, but rather necessity. If someone knew an infraction was likely to cause them to get fired, I would think it would take extreme circumstances to make them do something like that. I guess in my line of work I see such amazingly gross things in the course of a day, that this really, really doesn't bother me. My feeble attempt at humor earlier in this post has caused me to now be labled as "mean" so I won't try to be funny. Again, I just feel like it was an EXTREME need, not just so she didn't have to go out of her way to walk someplace else. JMHO.

Yes, great, wonderful, the maid has a horrible medical condition, c'mon in and use the facilities, heck, bring the family, everything is fine, you're right, I'm wrong, what a bad person I am, how virtuous everyone else is, blah blah blah . . .

Would someone for the love of Pete PLEASE close this thread??

KC :confused3

I wouldnt' like it. It's probably happened- we just didn't know it. I guess as long as I don't know- it's okay.
