This flips me out!!

My husband has a completly different view, he feels, this is my home for the week, totally inappropriate. He would be disgusted. Hmm.

Sorry, if someone is so ill that they have to drop on the nearest potty, they shouldn't be at work. And I don't want anyone using my hotel room while I'm out. Cleaning it, fine, but not using it, and we've all read other posts on this thread about mousekeeping using the rooms for other things. I find it rude, vulgar, and totally unprofessional.

But how cool, my first total flame thread  !

Y'all are much better people than I, truly - I'd make a bigger stink that she did, and not think twice about it.

Who said anything about her being "ill'? Sometimes, when you gotta go, you GOTTA GO! I have been hit with sudden intestinal distress many times.

It was not the OP's house. It was a rented hotel room. I have been in many, many Disney hotels, and frankly, I do not see an abundance of employee restrooms around every corner. She is in a room with a toilet, and she needed to use it. What else should she have done, pooped her pants? Cripes.

Really? So because someone might have a chronicdisease -- like Krohn's Disease or IBS -- that is generally controllable, but ocassionally flares up unexpectedly, that person should never go to work because they might have a sudden need to use the very nearest toilet.

I was just about to say something along the same lines. I have Ulcerative Colitis (look it up at www.ccfa.org if you aren't sure what it or Chrohn's is) and although it's controlled by meds, there's still the occasional instance where I need to use the absolute nearest restroom and probably wouldn't make it to an "employee restroom".

:rotfl2: Sorry but this part of your post made me :rotfl: . You'd make a bigger stink than "she" did??? LOL The OP or the maid??? :teeth:

My parents used to own a motel. I don't think a maid ever used the restroom in a motel bathroom. However, I don't think it is the end of the world--embarrassing and icky but not the worst thing that could happen.

It would never even occur to me to get upset about this. Dh and I would definitely snicker about it though...."whoo hoo she stunk it up GOOD in there!"

Ok I admit it would of been uncomfortable and a bit of a reality blast (oh other people use this room also, not just me.) As others said "think of what happens in that room when you aren't staying there." Or better yet, don't think about it. :earseek:

When you got to go, you got to go. Would you rather she peed on your room floor? Or did a shotty job because she was in a hurry? Have you ever been newly pregnant. OMG you have to pee ever 10 min for no good reason. Hardly a reason not to work (and there are many more.)

I would rather not cacth my mouse keeper doing her that, but if you think about it, it is really that bad?

Some one else mentioned Mousekeeping forgetting and leaving there door open. I have a problem with that.

I would be upset, but only because I alway post "do not disturb". I've been robbed in a hotel before, and don't want anyone in my room if I am not there.

 What exactly do you say to the manager? "OMG, the maid pooped in my TOILET and it stunk and I am so violated?! :rotfl:

Do you who are opposed to people using *your* bathroom let guests in your home use that potty? The maid was supposed to be in the room, right? She had to go, saw a potty and did her business. It's embarrassing all around, but I'm sure she doesn't make a hobby of pooping in everyone's room. Wha an odd affliction this would be, although harmless in any case...unless she wanted to be caught..? :) It a toilet, it's what it is for. As long as it's clean when she's done, I don't have a problem. Omg, what if she needed a kleenex and took one of yours and then threw it in your trash can!! The horror! :teeth:

I agree with the OP. It would bother me that she was there using the bathroom. I am sure she felt the problem coming on and she should have left and went to the employee restroom. I have IBS and I know when it is time for me to go fine a restroom.

OT now, but it also bothers me when I have people doing work at my house and they ask to use the bathroom. I can't stand strangers using my bathroom. I do let them but clean it as soon as they leave.

but I must say that is had me :rotfl2: I guess I just have a sick sense of humor, but that would be a hilarious story to tell for many years to come. "How is the mousekeeping at WDW?" "Well, it STINKS, to say the least!" :rotfl:

In all honesty, I wouldn't be mad at all. I would be a little weirded out and embarassed at first, but hey, if I was the mousekeeper and I had to go, why run a mile to another one, when there is a perfectly good potty right there and I have all the stuff to clean it afterward.? :confused3
I agree with this completely. It would be akward, but it would be really funny and make for a great vacation story. That's better than the time we were driving home from WDW and a toilet in a rest area blew up on my sister. :rotfl2:

Well, just so y'all know, I asked my DH about this, and he sides with the majority - it's no big deal to him. I pointed out that I might have a different opinion because I seem to frequently find problems with housekeeping at different places we stay at. He pointed out, mildly, that perhaps I should take notice that *I* frequently found problems . . . . :crazy2: . . .

Could be that he has a point. I'd still find it gross, and would probably say something, but maybe it's time to get a little introspective here, about my 'standards' . . . .

It is disgusting, and I can't believe that people are OK with it.....they are there to clean the room, and not use the facilities that are YOURS for the time you rented it.

The posted who wrote that the original post was someone trying to get a 'rise' out of all of us, because it just seems to much of a coincidence that they just happened to have to go back to the room at the exact time the mousekeeper was in the middle of their business may have been on to something because look, now everyone has blown up into personal attacks against people with IBS (speculation the mousekeeper couldn't 'hold it' because she suffers from some gastro-intestinal problem).....

Regardless, I wouldn't want them sitting down to watch TV if their break came while in the middle of cleaning my room, I wouldn't want them to put their drink in my Fridge to keep it cool while they were working in my room, and I sure as heck wouldn't want them using the toilet in my room, regardless of wether it's before or after the cleaning. It's my paid room for the time I rent it, and that should be respected.

Many people have pottied there before, and many more will. I don't know if Disney is defferent than other chains, but the HSing staff usually gets paid by the room. If she had to go somewhere away from there, she could have lost a great deal of time. Then some other whiner would be complaining because it is 3:00 and no one has cleaned their room.

Sometimes you just have to realize that the world does not revolve around you.

eta: And you can pretty much guarantee they have the TV on while they are in there too!

I don't understand why it's "disgusting". Other people use the toilet and it gets cleaned. I'm sure she would have cleaned it afterwards. If this was a regular thing, then no that would not be OK. But, I'm willing to give this person the benefit of the doubt and assume it was an emergency. I'm sure she knew there was some possibility that the family would come back to the room. If she could have used an employee bathroom, I'm sure she would have. Have a little compassion. She's human.

And you can't compare it to watching TV in your room while on break. That is not a necessity.

Gee, I paid for tickets to get into the park. Maybe they should have a reserved bathroom for me inside each park since my delicate booty can't sit where another has sat that day. :snooty: I would have just been embarrassed at first then laughed my "booty" off when I told someone about it. Not a big issue in the whole scheme of life.

and I didn't personally attack anyone, unlike "hugsquared"... I hope you are proud of yourself at poking fun at me, and assuming that I think I'm too good to sit where someone else has sat... nothing further from the truth... your not too nice.... you should check your sarcasm before you question why I would find this practice by an employee of a hotel unacceptable!

maybe next time I'm walking down the hall, and the chambermaid is cleaning your room, and hasn't not yet gotten to your bathroom, I should stop in and use it, and say it's an 'emergency' and my room is too far away... hey, what can it hurt, she's going to clean it anyway as so many of you have said

....I'm sure no one would be thrilled about that!

but, whatever... that's what makes this world great... I can have my own opinion, and you all can let strangers use your bathroom!
