This Disney trip is going to be the bomb diggity! Dec 2010

I have to tell you, I spent 4 hours last night reading your other trip report. I took so many notes! Thank you for passing on the link. DH was a smart man. Just like you, I know I will have a hard time leaving Disney this first time (and probably every time if we get to go again) so he planned a mini vacation on the way home. We are spending 4 more days in NC with the IL. It will be a good time too. We are up to 10 days in WDW...wondering if I can get any more added on but I think DH will put his foot down.

Did you ever figure out what happened when you bent over the last day?

I like the idea of MK and drinks on the Poly beach, too! Hopefully it won't be too cold for you! That's great you were able to add Crystal Palace? Have you considered upgrading your free QS dining to regular dining? You would just pay the difference between the two plans. It might save you some money on the OOP TS meals. :confused3

Yes, you can book ADRs even if you are not staying on property. :thumbsup2

Yes, they pipe the music in at the beach at the Poly, and there is nothing wrong with copping a squat on the beach to watch the water parade or the fireworks, and in Dec their was noone in our pool at the Wilderness Lodge so pool hopping wouldnt' even have been noticed. We are gonna have to try breakfast at Ak but this trip in May we are club level and they have a breakfast sunrise safari for club levels we are doing on my bday so that will be my AK breakfast. Haven't decided on Dining plan or not yet since as dvcers no chance of free dining. It's all good tho, I can't wait to get up in the morning and step out on my balcony and spend the morning with the giraffe. I love me some animals.:lovestruc:lovestruc
Safari breakfast on your birthday? That sounds amazing. I get chills thinking of you being able to step out on your balcony and see the giraffes. I can see why you are so excited. I'm excited for you.

I'm glad you liked my other TR, I read it last night and it's obvious it was written by somebody who went for the first time, all my other TR's (all of the 2 others :lmao:) lack that feeling of magic and excitement.

Your DH is smart. a mini vacation will help with the Disney withdrawls. I hate nothing more then to lave Disney and be dumped right back into my normal daily routine. I usually take an extra day off work, just so I have time to unwind, unpack and get back to reality.

10 days in WDW is a great first time, I had 6 days, well actually 5 since my last day blew up in my face. BUt anyway, I really hope you write a trip report when you get back, no pressure, but it does help keep the Disney mojo alive a little longer.;)

OMG! I hope it's not as cold as it was last year. I need to remember to bring a jacket, it was warm my first day at MK, but that night the temp dropped quickly.
Lo and I have talked about upgrading to full service, that's what I did last year, I think it was only $130 extra, it is worth it I agree, but we don't want to be tied down with too many ADR's. We also think that if for some reason we need to cancel an ADR, it wouldn't feel wasteful, we would actually save the money. That's why I only have 3 booked, and CRT is already paid for. I still haven't ok'd Crystal Palace with Lo, I will call her tomorrow and see if she wants to keep it or not. I'm sure she will be fine with it.

As much as I love all the TS meals, and all the great retaraunts they offer, I am looking forward to just QS meals, fast and easy, :lmao: I almost said that's what Lo and I are, :lmao: but I meant we want no muss no fuss, just feed us and let us go.

I love the idea of drinks on the beach! Sounds so perfect to me!!!

OK, drinks on the beach it is. Of course I have to sell Lo on the idea, but I am sure she will be all for it.

It just sounds like the perfect way to start a vacation right? A small taste of the park, and then a relaxing evening watching the fireworks, on a beach no less. I can't wait.

We're definitely doing drinks on the beach at the Poly- I'm picking up some sushi at the Kona cart, and we plan to head down just in time to catch the EWP!! It simply sounds like heave to me!!

Ty, have you thought more about the meet on August 29th?? Denise and her girls are coming too! It would be really fun to meet up with you there in Bethesda! :goodvibes

Your mind is already made, but I too vote drinks on the beach at Poly!

I am really looking forward to the QS plan this time around too! In Dec we did DxDDP and we just felt tied down to ressies. We actually skipped out on two of them. It's just Madi & I this time around (although SOMEBODY is finally realizing that maybe Madi is going to be much older and more in to things than they thought she would be... another story for another day!) and we've got two ressies: 1900 PF Dinner with Cinderella & her entourage - on our first night (a BBB appt is scheduled for before dinner and I bought her a OOAK Cindy dress on etst.com); and Akershus with the Princesses on Halloween night (our last night :sad2: ) --- I hate thinking about your last day when you haven't even left for your trip yet!

Please don't let DH hear you say he is smart! He'll never let me live it down! :rotfl: I am going to do a TR for sure! I had kicked around the thought of a PTR but didn't think anyone would follow a PTR for someone who has never been to WDW. I would never be passing along info like others who have been there.

:lmao: My 87 year old grandfather, who has a 90 year old girlfriend...:rolleyes1...jokes that he likes his coffee like his women--hot and strong! :rotfl2:

Oh, Ty, pleeeeeeaaase say you'll come! (insert begging smilie here) I so want to meet you in real life!!! :rotfl:

It does sound like heaven, I am going to let Lo know she doesn't have a choice on this matter, we're are doing drinks on the beach, I doubt she'll argue with me over that.;)

I have thought about the dismeet and was going to take that day off work, but then I remembered that Lo and I have our yard sale the last weekend in August. (disney fundage) so I already have taken the 26th, 27th and 28th off from work, I can't afford to take more. But Depending on what my hours are on the 29th, I might be able to do the dinner plans one, Kent said it would be fine with him, he would drive me down and love to meet my Dis buddies.

Would you be able to PM me the info for where ya'll are meeting for dinner.

Thanks, Ty

I'm already dreaming about drinks on the beach.

SO when you say Madi will be more into things, did you mean more into the Disney attractions or more into things like she is going to be a handful.

I would love to see a pic of Madi in her dress.

I know the feeling about thinking of the last day at Disney before the trip even starts. I try not to, but then in my mind I am always telling myself, "this time make it a huge last night, this time make it count."

Hopefully I will have time to do somethin gon my last day and not just be stuck waiting for a bus back to the airport.

Yay! a trip report to look forward to. I would totally read your PTR, it doesn't have to be about inromation being passed on, really it's just a way to talk about what your plans are and post about your excitement and what you are doing to get ready. I think your PTR would be fun.

:lmao: My 87 year old grandfather, who has a 90 year old girlfriend...:rolleyes1...jokes that he likes his coffee like his women--hot and strong! :rotfl2:

YOur 90 year old grandfather sounds like a real character.:lmao:

Yes, I do really want to meet ya'll in in Bethseda, where is Bethseda, I can't find it on the map. Is it in Md. or closer to D.C? I will need directions and hopefully I will get off work at a decent time, if I clos that night I won't get off work till 7, that would be too late, but lately I have been opening on Sundays and out of there by 3 or 4.

I'm already dreaming about drinks on the beach.

SO when you say Madi will be more into things, did you mean more into the Disney attractions or more into things like she is going to be a handful.

Shamus had thought originally that we needed to wait 2 years instead of the one. He argued that she wouldn't get a true experience from this trip... blah blah blah - I told him that every trip is a new and exciting adventure... he thought I was drunk on Disney - now he's seeing how much Madi has grown since Dec and he realizes that indeed this is a new and exciting adventure...

I would love to see a pic of Madi in her dress.

When the Cinderella one comes in I will post a pic of it - until then, here's this:

This is the dress she'll wear to the Halloween Party!

I know the feeling about thinking of the last day at Disney before the trip even starts. I try not to, but then in my mind I am always telling myself, "this time make it a huge last night, this time make it count."

Hopefully I will have time to do something on my last day and not just be stuck waiting for a bus back to the airport.

Our flight leaves at 7:00PM! WOOHOO, that's like a whole extra park day!!!

You are going to LOVE December!!! I went last year (Dec 6-11), stayed at CBR with my fiance and our then 2 year old. We had a blast! We did the Christmas Party, which was great; the Wishes Dessert party, which was 'eh'; the Santa at Epcot, near the America Experience (or whatever it's called) in world showcase is AMAZING!!! Miracle on 34th Street AMAZING!!! I did a PTR, but never followed through with a TR - but Ty has one, did you read that?

See Ty, now you gotta keep it going!
Hey there- miss you guys from last year's PTR!! glad to see you here!

okay, i have to vote on the early night at MK and drinks at Poly. We love getting a frozen drink at the lounge, enjoying the atmosphere and heading down to the beach. The electrical water pageant does come around there, about 9pm each night. They have some great hammocks down there too. I've also watched WISHES from the beach, however the music is very low, i could barely hear it. but it is a great view! I think they also serve dole whips now from the quick service location there too! Heck, when you are done there, why not take the monorail to the other mono resorts and do a drink there too? ;):wizard:

i won't get in on the pool hopping debate, i know it is just as hot around here as refillable mugs, parking at a resort to visit a park, taking your kids out of school or saying your kid is 3 when they are really 3 years, 1 month. anyhow- the weather can be unpredictable in December and we had it down right cold a few nights, years ago (talking 30s). So you can't count on a nice swim anyhow, especially in the evening- so i totally vote on the visit to the poly for fireworks/drinks! you will have a ball!!!!!!

i do hope to pool hop this trip, but i am DVC now, so it is officially one of our 'perks' as DVC. HOwever, even then, they do limit us and we can't use the pool at the yacht/beach club (they DO ID you there due to its popularity) and a few others (BLT, AKV I think). Hoping the pool at BLT is great and should be fine for us! if the weather will cooperate!

Oh ok. I thought you were referring to Madi being more into Disney since she's grown, but I wanted to make sure before I said anything. I think when you have a parent who loves Disney as much as you do, kids will have more of an understanding at a younger age because they see it more and hear it more. That's just my opnion though. I think Madi will have a great time, and so will you.

Love that dress, it's super cute and perfect for the Hallowwen party.

Yes, a late flight, Madi will probably sleep fo rmost of it yes? and you will get in some morning time at Disney before taking off, it's the worse feeling waking up and then going straight to the bus to leave, BLAH!

I would be totally up for making the resort loop on the monorail, I guess we'll have to see how we feel, we will have been up for quite some time by then. If I could pull it off I would never sleep while at Disney. I would go through the groggy stage, then hit the slap happy stage, (that stage is fun, it's like being drunk without drinking) but then the grumpy stage would set in, the infantile stage, then I would just pass out.

The pool hopping thing. I should have never even mentioned it, I knew better. I was thinking of Lo who wants to relax in a hot tub and Pop Century doesn't have any. Seriously a cool pool with a slide would be wasted on us, you can get away with going down the slides when you have kids with you, but 2 grown women by themselves, not so much. :lmao:

I was just htinking of something fun for Lo, but really it would be too much trouble without a vehicle of your own, and Lo would agree with me on that. We are all about fun...without exerting too much energy. She loves the drinks at the Poly idea.

Hopefully this year will be warmer then last year, I never got to hang by the pool and swim, it was either rainin gor chilly, and the few warm days we did get we took advantage of and stayed all day at the parks, I suppose we could have swam at night, I think I chose not though because at the end of the day my leg was so swollen and hideous looking, I didn't want to scare anybody.

Hey! I'm here! Can't believe I missed this till now! So glad you and Lo are getting your chance to go together. I remember when you were planning your first trip with her that didn't work out. So, now to go back through and catch up. I love living vicariously through you and your X-mas trips. We'll be there for our first halloween party this September. I think we might have to try for the X-mas season some time, but we're always so busy that time of year.

lol- hey, i am one of those grown women going down the slides! who cares what everyone thinks! lol :thumbsup2 the monorail loop drink athon is fun, and you don't have to make it a crazy get wasted thing- it can be a go slow, enjoy one drink at the GF louge, which has an awesome live jazz band often playing disney music most nights, then move on to the cali grill or the lounge for a drink there to enjoy the fabulous view, then onto the poly for the last stop. heck, it can even be a soda! just doing it is fun!

WOW! Have I missed a LOT! Your Michigan pics are awesome. Looks like you had a wonderful time. Again, so close! Maybe someday I will just take off, brave the mountains and come see you. My life has been a mess lately.

I'm not completely caught up yet, but I am voting for a drink on the poly beach too. What a nice relaxing way to end the day.

Seriously girl, you have got to get on facebook.

Yeah that's right, you were posting on my PTR for me and Lo's trip when it fell through. I really never thought her and I would get a chance to to do Disney together, but where there's a will there's a way. She's fun to travel with too, we have only done long weekend trips together, she's easy going and super fun so this will be a great trip.

Kent and I originally were supposed to be going this September, I really want to go to MNSSHP, we had plans for that too, but now we are thinking next year instead.

Disney at around Christmas time is so amazing, just enough Christmas festivities and lights without it being over kill. I hope you get your chance to go in December sometime.

For the most part I don't care what people think, but I seem to lose a little of my rebel attitude when I am in a bathing suit.:lmao:

I need to pitch your Monorail loop drinkathon idea to Lo, We would have to take it slow and easy, maybe some places just have a soda like you suggested. I'm a light weight and Lo has had to hold my hair back for me a few times. She said I'm a dainty puker though, but last place I want to toss my cookies is Disney.
I would love to kick back at the GF lounge and listen to some Jazz, that sounds like fun, I really want to do alot of things that I haven't done before.

Michigan was so much fun, and as I was exiting the Ohio turn pike to make the drive up to my folks I got to think about you, wondering what you were up to. Sorry to hear your life has been a mess lately. I do hope it gets better, and yes, you should brave the mountains and come see me sometime. I would love to have you.

I am on facebook, I will PM the info to ya, since I have my maiden and married name included in it.

I just finished reading your December trip report. We were there at the same time and I think I even saw you and your friend Marzi a couple of times.
