This board helped me win a DVC unbrella

Well, last week at OKW we attended the member's meeting. They didn't hand out tickets for the door prize, as usual, so this time the CM said there'd be a quiz, and first correct answer got the prize: a very nice DVC unbrella.

The question: What's the name of the pool at YC/BC?

My hand was up quicker than a wink. The answer of course is Stormalong Bay.

With all the pool-hopping questions and answers on this board over the past year, SAB became fully entrenched in this ole' grey brain of mine. I didn't even have to think about it for a millisecond.

So thanks everyone.

Maybe next time they'll ask for the name of the slide at BWV's.

Same thing happened to me but we won 2 drink holders a couple weeks ago. The question was, "What is the exact date that DVC ends?" Which of course is January 31, 2042. I had my hand up like a bullet too. Without this board I probably wouldn't have know the day only the year. As a matter of fact, I heard a number of people remark that they only knew it was 2042. I even heard someone say that they didn't even know that it expired. That person didn't seem too happy either. Congratulations on the umbrella. We love getting those little prizes. We now have 2 luggage tags, 2 drink holders, a number of DVC beach balls, and a DVC beach towel from those meetings. Free rolls and coffee doesn't hurt either!

I was at last week’s member meeting also. I wish I knew that there was another DIS at the meeting. Anyway, the first question was, "How much are the maintenance dues a BCV". I thought that he asked about Vero Beach. Since I had already won the deck of cards and he already called on me for the first question he didn't come back to me for the SAB question. Congratulations, it was fun.

DOTB: So that was you at the meeting? That's one of the problems, you never know when another DIS'er is there. If I recall you got the cards for being the 'oldest' member. You purchased in 1991? (If I recall).

I didn't mention that the first question was about the BCV dues since no one knew, and people were only guessing.

Almost, correct. Actualy I'm a new member (Sept 2001); my question was "What the date DVC ends". I knew the BCV question just didn't listen close enough.
