This a bad way of buying in?

This was my plan also. I started with 50 points at VWL several years ago. Yesterday I found a 50 point contract at BWV that I liked so I jumped on it. I will continue to look for this size of contracts at a couple more locations and I think I'll be set. This will also give me the opportunity to give small contracts to each of the kids. It won't be too expensive for them to maintain the contracts yearly dues, but also give them a taste of ownership and then they can decide if the want to add on or get rid of them.

The initial buy in is no longer 160 you can buy 100pt contracts from WDW now. We are buying one to kind of get our feet wet at SSR.

We are too though we chose three 50 pt contracts at SSR (3 small kids and more flexibility if needed). Couldn't pass upthe drop in price, upfront points, and all closing costs paid by seller. That made it competitive with the resale market (maybe even cheaper). Also depending where you are if you finance through Disney the interest may be deductible (you will get a 1099) where resellers cannot do this ( I got this from Passporter guide for DVC).

Good luck, it has taken us years to pull the trigger.
