Thinking Of Next Trip....

My family and I are tossin' around some ideas about our next trip 'home'. Not sure if we are going to go with OKW again (absolutely loved it, but want to spend time in all of them) or with another of the resorts.

That got me thinkin'....do most of the DIS'ers actually only stay at their 'home' resorts? Or, do they check them all out at least once? I know how Rich would answer this poll....but, interested in the majority of the folks out there and some comments as well, if you please.

We have stayed at OKW (Home 1) BWV (Home 2) and VWL (not our home) and have yet to stay at BCV (Home 3) and just to toss this out... we have stayed at HHI (not our home) also.

We like to mix it up and focus our trips around which DVC property we are staying at, for that trip.

As long as we are in a 2 bedroom (or GV) we dont care where we stay.

You should have an "I'll stay in any DVC" selection. I stay at my home resorts but since I have three (BWV, VWL and BCV) I'm not reflected in the poll. With four on-site resorts, the poll could have 24 possibilities.

Yes, I realized that I didn't get to the three-resort combinations a bit late. But, with only an opportunity for 12 spots on the poll, I still only would've been 1/2 way there.

I voted for my home resorts BWV and BCV. But we have also stayed at VWL in a studio and are trying OKW in January.

I have yet to stay at my home resort VB. I have stayed at OKW and loved it. That was my first time in DVC. I haved stayed at BWV but only for one night, that was alot of fun. It is surrounded by great places to go.
Our next trip planned is for VWL for our 21 anniversary. We are spending lots of points because it is FRI & SAT night. But it is a special occasion.
We also have a trip planned for our home resort VB in May. With us living in Florida VB was the ideal place to buy. So we are looking forward to our first trip to our home resort VB.
We have traded 134 points to stay at Limetree Resort at Sarasota Beach thru II for August. I'll let everyone know whether it was a good trade afterwards.

I own at VWL and BCV. We have stayed at all DVC resorts except HH. My kids don't care for VWL, but they love BCV. Next trip - OKW, cause at 2 months it was all that was available.

We'll get to all of them eventually, but mostly we stay at our home resorts BWL, and VWL. Since our purchase in 1999, the only non-home DVC resort we've stayed at is OKW. Also, we did CA resort at DL a couple of years ago... nice resort.

Next year, we're going to try a short VB trip.

You'll love VB. We bought two add-on's there - to guarantee that beautiful beach cottage! It's great to live so close, isn't it?!?

I'm looking forward to your report on the Limetree! I've walked around the Veranda on Longboat Key while staying over at Anna Maria - but we've yet to trade.

You say 134 points. Was that secured before they came out with the new point chart? (since 134 isn't one of the set amounts) Was that for a 1BR or 2BR - low or mid-season?

We've stayed at OKW, BCV, HH, and VWL. Bad experience at VWL and DH's love for OKW mean we won't go back to VWL anytime soon. DH would prefer to return to OKW every trip, but he'll reluctantly consider trying BCV or SSR. But BWV-he walked in there and said "Don't want to stay here-looks too busy!" Good thing I take solo trips-trying BWV myself in December! Anyways, if you loved OKW, you might like BCV or I always adhere to the "stick with what you love" idea of hotels. But if you ever get a chance off property, you've got to try HH!

Of the DVC Properties we have stayed at OKW, BCV, BWV, VB, HH,
and VWL. We only stayed at VWL once, I cracked my head open...and I mean OPEN...reaching for the phone which was placed under the dormer roof line by the balcony. The drapes were closed and it was very dark inside the room.

We really love all of the DVC Properties for different reasons. However, I remain AFRAID of the VWL!

I haven't stayed at my home resort yet (BWV), but have been to OKW and HHI. Our next trip is currently reserved at BWV, but I plan to change that ressie to BCV when the 7-month window opens. Hope to finally make it to my "home" for Food & Wine 2004!

We have stayed at four DVC resorts (BWV, OKW, VB, BCV) and intend to visit the rest over the next couple of years. But we have also stayed at every on property WDW resort except GF, YC Swan and Dolphin (althought they are technically not WDW resorts) and several off property resorts.

So far we've stayed at BWV, VWL & OKW. Going to try for SSR next summer.

Hi Beth,
Yes I love living in Florida. Being close to Disney & VB is great. And I've been told only 5 hours to HH.

About the trade the CM that was working in Reservations misquoted the points. DH got his name. We were only asking for a studio. Maybe that is why.
When I got home from work I made the call to confirm. They gave a different amount of points. I looked at Hubby and told him, he got on the phone and told him the other CM's name that we were looking for a studio. He told us he would have to call back. He did in 10 minutes and confirmed it for 134 points. One Bdr (no studio)
I have a DH that wants to buy there. Hope it is up to expectations.
