Since I keep hearing how horrible the Nescafe is, I am thinking of bringing our Keurig. We are driving so it really isn't an issue. But do you think it is a stupid idea?
I actually don't drink coffee, but DH is a die hard coffee drinker. We live in an area where Dunkin Donuts is literally on every corner, and DH buys coffee from them 3x + a day. He needs decent coffee.

It's never a stupid idea to have good coffee. I can sympathize with your husband because I enjoy my coffee. I usually pack pre measured coffee and filters and make my first pot in the room when I get up. There are very few places to get a decent cup of coffee in the World. If room isn't an issue, I say bring the Keurig.

I couldn't live without my Keurig at home, but I only have one cup per day and so I'm usually fine at Disney without any coffee. But your husband sounds like a pretty serious caffeine addict! So I say bring it. It's not really that much of a hassle since you're going by car. If you're staying in a mod or deluxe you should have plenty of room for it. And I'm sure your DH will be much happier without having to spend $4 a pop on crappy coffee! :goodvibes

Nah, if you're driving that's not a big deal. Bring it, and set it up in the room! Use only bottled water in it, though! The tap water WILL affect the taste. Big time. Some people will pack filters (the in-room brewers take a 4-cup size, flat bottom basket style) and their own coffee. I have a Keurig, and love it, but I don't think I have super picky taste in coffee. The in-room Cafe Valet made with bottled water is good enough for me, much better than the Nescafe at least.

I wish all hotels would replace those nasty coffeemakers that never quite look clean with Keurigs. Neat, clean and simple. They could put a few coffee and tea k-cups in each room, and sell more in the gift shop. Good for the hotels, good for Keurig, good for the guests.

We ended up bringing our own filters, own coffee and used bottled water in the coffeemaker at Boardwalk. :)

do you have a full size, or one of the minis? not sure I would bring my full size one, but we also have the mini without a reservoir and I would bring that one, just for size consideration.

and what they hey, go crazy.. bring Dunkin Donut K cups!

DH and I were just joking about buying the mini and taking it with us.

We've become diehard Keurig lovers in the almost 2 weeks we've had ours.

(I didn't even drink coffee before!)

DH is the coffee addict, being a sailor and all. so it was rather amusing that I was the first convert and purchaser while he was away

I only drink one cup a day, and I hated wasting a full pot each time.

about a week after I had it, I told he he better go and buy a mini because he needed one. BADLY. well he hemmed and hawed and said..nah I have my coffee pot in the BOQ and plenty at the office

yeah. he broke down after my incessant nagging and now 2/3 of my care packages to him are comprised of K cups. go figure...:confused3 :rotfl2:

Now THAT is a fantastic idea!! :thumbsup2

Has your husband tried starbucks VIA packets? I love my keurig but these packets were great when we went camping. All you need is hot water and sugar and cream!

I plan to use them at Disney too.

We brought our full-size coffeemaker a couple of years ago, the bell services CM said they see people bringing all kinds of things, no problem. Bring it and enjoy.

I heard that they are replacing at resorts with copy cat Cuisnart so maybe check ahead of time and just bring k-cups PS I can't live without mine either .Coffee is the juice of life.:goodvibes

My mom got me a Keurig that's actually meant for hotel rooms! I LOVE it! We will be driving down and I am so excited to bring it!

Be careful -- you might actually give them a good idea! Next thing you know, all the rooms will have K-cup machines in them...

We brought a coffee maker (not a Keurig) and used it during our stay at POP earlier this month. I also picked up a pack of disposable coffee cups with lids so we could take our Dunkin Donuts coffee with us to the bus stops. Worked out great! We used bottled water to make our coffee (we brought our own mini fridge too ;)).

LOL, I may just bring the Dunkin Kcups! Thanks for the idea ;)

My dh despises Starbucks. I'm not quite sure if he just has a ridiculously strong loyalty to Dunkin or what :lmao:

too funny!

We are staying in 2 rooms at POP, so no coffee machines. He was originally planning on just filling a refillable mug with coffee everyday, but nescafe won't cut it. I am thinking of buying a mini just to bring with us now! I can replace our old camping pot with it after we are back!

for plain, basic unadulterated coffee.. DD is hands down a bazillion times better than Starbucks. in fact when the DD K cups came out the FIRST thing DH did was beg me to send him some. Alas, they are only sold in DD shops and I do not drive so cannot get to one to do so. something tells me one of the first things we do once he returns is hit a DD and buy a case or 6....
