thinking about cancelling...

By the way, if some of you want to cancel your trip due to the posted Magic Kingdom park hours, then go ahead and do it.

BrianD that really is not nice of you to say. I think everyone is just getting A LITTLE WORRIED. Numerous families plan vacations
months and sometimes years in advance spending a fair amount of money with the hopes to have a memorable family vacation. Vacationers are now looking at the park hours for June and thinking "How are we going to see and do the things we have planned for sooo long in a crowded park with early closing times?" Lets all just try to relax and not condem those who are venting. With hopes, the hours will indeed change. Until then lets all be thankfull that we are even able to plan a trip to such a wonderful place such as DW. ;)

Please do not cancel your trip.they will lengthen the hours when it gets closer to time.it is better to start out with shorter hours and then add to them, than to post longer hours and have to cut back.
if you feel the hours are not appropriate please email Disney with your concerns.there were alot of us that did that about the May hours and were pleasantly surprised.

When I have been to Disney, the actual hours have been extended when the parks got busy. Hope this helps.

Have fun :)

I won't be cancelling my trip to WDW because the hours at the Magic Kingdom are posted as being shorter than I might wish.

On the other hand, I have 3 trips planned for this year, so far, and I'm trying to convince my husband that I really truly should see what October in WDW is like :)

Everyone's situation is different. I can understand someone being leery of spending a lot of money for a trip to WDW. If the hours aren't what they want they should cancel.

It's just a personal decision. I think most of our veterans have had the experience that the park closes later than the times posted on the Disney website. While that is a comfort to know, it isn't a guarantee.

How upset will you be if you count on the hours being extended but it doesn't happen? Will it ruin your entire trip? Will you come home feeling like you were cheated out of the magic?

If the hours of operation are extremely important to you, if the park isn't open as long as you think it should be and that is going to ruin the entire experience for you--then I would cancel.

Life is too short to go all the way to Florida to WDW and then have your entire trip ruined because the park wasn't open as long as you wanted it to be. Wait until you like the hours posted on the official site and go then.

I think you need to just decide how important the hours are to the trip you are planning. If the number of hours that a park is open is the number one priority to you, then cancel.

If you can open your heart to the magic even though the parks close earlier than you hoped, then you should not cancel your trip.

Good luck with making this decision.

Just a quick reminder to everyone that a discussion just like this one deteriorated into an argument, yesterday. It was locked. Please keep the discussion to the topic and do not concern yourself with other poster's responses. You don't have to agree on this. You were asked for your opinion, isn't it great that everyone has one?

If you disagree with another poster's words, please use the private message function or email to discuss this. Do not post about this on the board. I think we can cut down on some of the recent unpleasantness, that way.

We go to Disney about once every 3 to 4 years, for about the last 20 years. Yes the shorter hours do dissappoint me and will affect our touring plans. We go in the summer for the longer hours, nightly parades and fireworks. We will have a great time this year in spite of Disney's lack of concern for their customer's satisfaction. That being said I do opperate by the motto "Cheat me once ,shame on you. Cheat me twice, shame on me" So if hours and extras stay as limited as they are posted, this will be our last trip to Disney. It is not worth the 8 to 10 thousand dollars we typicallly spend there. I hope people who castigate those who feel like I do would realize that for many the option to return in 3 months or even a year is not viable so there is a marked decrease in our vacation options, and yes it does make me feel cheated especially compared to hours and crowd levels 3 years ago, 10 years ago, even 20 years ago. OK off my soapbox.

I tried to read all the posts and forgive me if this has already been said -- (;) my "sometimes I don't read very thouroughly disclaimer)

May hours seemed quite dismal when they were first posted - they improved alot a few weeks ago. I think it is true that they base the hours on how many people they figure will be there. More people will no doubt book for June and I bet they add hours. Hope so, any way....have fun!

I guess I just don't understand because we are talking about the hours of one of four theme parks. Even though MK may be closing early a couple of times during the week, that doesn't mean you are left to go sit in your hotel room & watch TV. Epcot & MGM are open until 9:00PM every night, plus there's DTD & the Boardwalk.

Also, I do agree that these hours will most certainly change, especially with this new incredible package that Disney has come out with.

I am dissapponinted to by these hours. I t seems a shame to spend so much money and not be able to tour the parks that you want for as long as you want. WIth 2 small children, MK is by far our favorite park. That being said, I won't cancel my trip for the first week in June. I am going to go and have a blast!!! I won't let shorter hours effect my stay. E-ride nights and EE, here we come!! Besides, I can do some shopping at DD at night if I fell like I have to go some where or just check out the beautiful WL resort pool.
