Things I would never have done without the DIS

So very, very much, but I definitely would not have:

(1) Made it to rope drop -- I wouldn't have understood how much it helps out
(2) Gotten DD's hair cut at Main St. Barbershop and then have it decorated with gel & confetti
(3) Eaten a Dole Whip at MK OR a butterfinger cupcake at DHS -- so wanting both right now btw!
(5) Drank a Grand Marnier slushie at Epcot-France
(6) Found the "shortcuts" in the parks
(7) Figured out how to avoid the crowds over Thanksgiving week
(8) Known about Tour Guide Mike -- I absolutely love his site for best park days
(9) Known about all the little things to look for -- hidden Mickeys, interesting info on rides, behind-the-scenes trivia, etc
(10) Known the best places to see the fireworks or parades -- I'm sure I would've figured it out eventually over a few trips, but I didn't even have to try ... I just went and enjoyed (Robo's maps really help with Wishes)!

I would never had celebrated Jakob's 7th bday at the Coral Reef without the DIS! :lovestruc

Would not have known about the following:

- rope drop; gonna try it this year
- ADR's and the good restaurants
- Club Cool at Epcot, can't wait to taste the drinks this year
- Photopass deals
- The slushies in World Showcase
- the barbershop
- The Animal Kingdom passport (only knew of the Epcot one)
- most importantly, the rehabs of rides; its nice to know what is down ahead of time so there won't be any disappointment

That is awesome! How did you arrange that?

I called the manager at the Coral Reef months before our trip, gave her our ADR time/date and she arranged for the diver to swim up to the glass near our table and hold up Jake's Happy Birthday sign. :goodvibes

However, I believe this service was discontinued in 2009. :(

Please tell more - I have no idea what maps you are talking about.

Robo is one of the Mods here on the Dis boards.....he's AMAZING with maps (and information). If you need to find anything, anywhere, Robo has a map for it. He's an invaluable source of information. :goodvibes But if you need to know where to find something, he can surely help.

The TSM strategy

Segway tours, afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian, rope drop, the monorail crawl, Tonga Toast, Bistro de paris, etc.

1. Bagallini Cross-over body bag. It's light-weight and water resistant.
2. Ice cream cookie and Dole Whip at MK, Schoolbread in Norway and Grey Goose Slush in France at Epcot.
3. Using Fast Passes after time listed.
4. Offsite vs. Onsite accommodations (I've only stayed onsite so far!)
5. Free Dining and Pin Codes.
6. New and over-looked attractions at each of the parks.
7. How beautiful the Osborne Light Show is during the holidays and what time to be there to see the lights turn on all at once. (5:30pm to 6:00pm or just before dusk)
8. Watch the second parade of the night instead of the first if you can because it's less crowded. You can ride the rides while everyone else is watching.
9. Queen beds at Coronado Springs Resort.
10. Advanced dining reservations.
11. Making sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes with you on your trip. This is so important!!! When I was shopping for tennis shoes, the "expert" said to buy a half size or whole size larger than you normally wear because your feet expand and swell after you have walked all day. I bought a half size larger and he was right, they were more comfortable!

There are so many more but I would be here all day.

Sorry to be nieve but was does CS mean? x
Made ADR's at 90days

Request a "First Trip" button at check in for my 3 yr old grand daughter

upgrade our 5 day passes to 7 days after we use them once & they will only cost a few $$ more

have a list of recommended CS places at each park

eat at air conditioned CS restaurants in the September heat-I have a list!

tie a scarf around the handle of DGD stroller

order a large soda at CS, share with daughter and have her request a bottle of water with her meal for later

have directions on how to over ride the resort A/C if it goes off overnight

Use FP and understand how it works

have a Dole Whip

order bottle water/food/snacks from Garden Grocer

Free water available at CS places

there are so many more, but I can't remember them all now.

I haven't been to WDW since 1993, DIS has been invaluable in planning our vacation.

Things I have done because of DIS...

- stroller swap
- fridge swap
- booked ADR's 180 days out
- spend countless hrs on the DIS

I would have never checked out:

Turtle Talk
Behind the Scenes Tours
The Greenhouse Tour
The Flower festival

I would have been ignorant to:
fast passes
park hopping
the year of a million dreams.
How wet you get on Kali
The best rooms/buildings at Port Orleans
hidden mickeys
the awesomeness that is discovery cove

I would have bought the dining plan and then found out it was not for our family.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!! I have learned sooooooo much from the DIS We took my parents this year, and all week they kept asking "how do you know that...of course...DISboards! I'm still reading all the posts, so I'm not sure if this has been mentioned. My post could go on forever, but I thought this one was really cool.

Without the DIS...

I wouldn't have known to go to Starring Rolls and ask for grapefruit cake from The Brown Derby. I felt like a spy! I asked, and everyone at the counter started talking quietly among themselves, and then one CM went in the back and a few minutes later she came out with my cake. It was awesome, and I felt like I knew a super secret. (The cake was phenomenal by the way. )
