Yes - that's what I mean. They gather up the peppers or lemons or onions or whatever that I have placed on the belt and put them into bags from the produce section before they weigh and check them and then put those bags in the actual grocery bag. It seems especially absurd as I generally only ever buy one or two of these items at a time. If I'm picking up 3lbs. of apples or a dozen oranges, of course I've already put them in a produce bag. Sometimes it gets comical like when the cashier asked me to "hold one side" of the produce bag for her while she tried to stuff a large cantaloupe in...just stop already!!Do the checkouts have rolls of clear plastic bags, or are the cashiers separating your produce into regular grocery bags before putting them into another bag?
I notice that some cashiers will take it upon themselves to double bag chicken or other meats, but never saw it with produce.
