THEY'RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT! A tale from 2 cities!! THE END! pg 32

Thanks for the FB add!

I also wanted to add that I will be going to WDW in May with my brother who has a gluten allergy, so any tips would be great!

I am not too worried about our table service meals, but how hard was eating gluten free at quick service? Did you have to do much advance planning for those or did you wing it? My DH and I have our favorites, but I can see changing things up for my bro.

This trip is going to be a little different for us since we also will be going with my nephew who will be 7. We don't have kids so definitely a change in touring plans!!

NP!

A little bit of planning when it comes to quick service will be needed just because more places have more options than others. At the Magic Kingdom you should be fine as well as Animal Kingdom where they just opened an allergy kiosk that has tons of gluten free stuff. At DHS I would recommend Pizza Planet they have gluten free pizza and they have salads they can make gluten free. At Epcot Mexico is the only quick service where he will have a wide selection for him to choose from and not many of the countries will but the electric umbrella should also be good.

As long as you aren't planning on going to Tutto Italia or Via Napoli your table service options should be fine.

At every place quick service or table service make sure you mention the gluten allergy. They will send the chef out to speak with him and let him know his options.

BoG looks so beautiful. My daughter will LOVE it!

Glad to hear your mom's phone turned up. Our Disney trips wouldn't be complete if we didn't misplace something. Luckily we have always gotten our stuff back as well.

Disneyland SOON!

I LOVE the It's Not Bleedin' Chowder, and don't think that I have ever eaten anything else at Raglan Road...in fact, I go back just for that!:lmao:

And I have the same D&B Disney bag as you! I am currently using it and get so many compliments on it....now if I could only snag one of those Vera Bradley bags when they come out!?! :goodvibes

Pop Century looks so cute. I love the big Lady and the Tramp.
Glad Dawn got her phone back:goodvibes
Lapu Lapu! Yum!!! That is one strong drink;)
Disney Quest - we did it once but never felt the need to repeat it
Raglan Road - your seafood dish looked like something I would enjoy
Baby Cakes stuff looks pretty good!

Glad they had the Phone! :)

I haven't been to Disney Quest, like you I am not a big gamer but I would like to see it someday, maybe next trip. That Splittsville looks fun! :thumbsup2

Sorry your meal at Raglan Road wasn't great, I have heard mixed reviews on that place lately, mostly good, but a few not so goon thrown in.

Can't wait for the next update!

It is so much more than the pictures show! We also had awesome service so it definitely helped add to the magic!

We were too! We couldn't believe they found it!

I know!!!

It was fun but not something you need to spend a lot of time doing. It was!

Yeah it was more the service than anything else.

Coming soon!

Hi All! Caitin has been updating like crazy lately so I figured I should give her a break and do one myself :) As you can see by my ticker our DL adventure is just 5 days away! We're all super excited and can't wait to see Walt's park!
Anyway, back to May.....

We are now up to Thursday May 9th. We woke up early and had a quick breakfast in the room. Once we were ready for the day we headed to the bus stop.

We were there by 8:00 because "The Twist" came on and of course we had to dance! (if you've never stayed at Pop at 8am they play the Twist and you're supposed to dance. At dinnertime they play the Hustle) We were the only people dancing at the bus stop but who cares? Disney is for having fun!

The bus arrived soon after and we were on our way to the Animal Kingdom. We had two goals on this day. The first one was to meet "Dug". That adorable dog is one of my very favorite Disney characters! Our second goal was to just wander the trails.

Once we got in the park the first thing we did was grab a pic in front of the tree

Then when all the guests rushed off to the safari or Expedition Everest we headed to meet our favorite Wilderness Explorers.

We arrived before they did but their stuff was their waiting for them

Within a few minutes Dug arrived! Apparently Russell slept in :confused3

Isn't he just adorable?!

After we visited with Dug we decided to go see some Bugs. Of course Caitlin had to take pics as we walked through the tree area

The picture taking continued when we got inside because we were the only ones there!

By the time we were let in more people had arrived and they had with them lots and lots of small children. It was a bad move by those parents because by the end there were lots and lots of scared, screaming kids. (which were much scarier than those bugs :rotfl:)

After the scream filled Bug show we decided we needed a little peace and quiet so we headed over to the Maharajah trails.

**continued next post

We arrived just in time to see the bats being fed breakfast. EWWW!!

It did not take long before looking at these gross creatures started freaking me out a bit...

Look at those wings! EEK!!

And that was enough I had to get the heck out of there!

Next up the far less scary tiger!

These paths are just so pretty and well themed!

It is so peaceful and lovely you can almost forget you are in a busy theme park!

When we finished the trail it was time for some more tree pics

With both of our goals achieved by 10am we decided it was time for a little snack break so we headed over to Africa in search of something to eat. Along the way we passed this beautiful sight

DeVine!

So lovely and graceful!

We then found a snack and a table to eat at

Then this little thing appeared

and this little one too

We were trying not to feed them but if a piece fell they would fight each other for it and the way they stared at us while we ate it reminded us of our dogs begging for food.

While we ate we developed our plans for the rest of the day. I'll let Cait tell you about that next time. Thanks for reading!

We just  Pop! It's such a fun resort and feels like "Disney home" for sure!

Such a good idea to go meet Dug first thing in the morning! I'll have to remember that one.

Outside of the deluxe resorts Pop is my favorite. It does feel like home and it really has the best customer service of any of the mods or values.

Thanks. We saw him first thing and even when we were done there still wasn't anyone else there.

Thanks for the info. I had read about the new allergy kiosk...can't wait to check it out.

We love La Hacienda and I know it will be a good choice. I am just bummed about Via Napoli. I knew it would be a no go and I LOVE the pizza there...and the cute waiters. We have gone with someone with a peanut allergy, so I know to note the gluten allergy on our ADR's.

It's a good thing my brother is very laid back and go with the flow.

Thanks again!!

NP! I am so excited about it we will definitely be stopping by in November!

I was upset about Via Napoli too we had been there on a prior trip but I guess restaurants not owned by Disney aren't too accommodating with allergies.

Hi Dawn! Welcome back
Love your Monsters shirt and bag!!
Dug is so cute - I am going to have to make my hubby get a pic with him (Dug and Doug);)
We have only been in Bug's Life once. Once was enough for my 3 big, strong guys all of whom are deathly afraid of spiders.:rotfl:
LOVE the theming in Asia. Those paths are so pretty!
Divine is awesome. I just read somewhere where they are supposed to be adding a bamboo person. Can't wait to see it.

Hi Dawn! Welcome back

Hi! Thank you :)

Love your Monsters shirt and bag!!
Thank you. I had those for our fall 2012 WDW visit :)

Dug is so cute - I am going to have to make my hubby get a pic with him (Dug and Doug);)
Cute! We try and get our Dale with Chip and Dale

We have only been in Bug's Life once. Once was enough for my 3 big, strong guys all of whom are deathly afraid of spiders.:rotfl:

:rotfl: That show is pretty creepy for people who are afraid of bugs! Rodents scare me more than bugs do.

Yes they are.

Divine is awesome. I just read somewhere where they are supposed to be adding a bamboo person. Can't wait to see it.

I heard about that too. We'll be looking for her next time we're at AK

Does Dug say anything? Seems like they could easily make some pre-recorded lines come out of the speaker in his collar, like "I have just met you and I love you".

No he doesn't say anything but oh my goodness that would be awesome if they made him talk! :thumbsup2

Okay, so I read the title update, and was all “AHH I WAS THERE ON THE 9TH!” Seriously…Then I scroll down and am all “WHAT?! I WAS AT ANIMAL KINGDOM!”

…small world…

Love Caitlin’s tank top…I think I’ve said that nearly every update, she’s got some good style! Haha. Awe. Too bad that Russell slept in, but at least you got Dug! Haven’t done the Bug show yet, and probably won’t, I would be like one of those small children, very very scared!

Amazing AK pics, they really sum up the detail and the feel of the park that most people miss! Good updates! I’m curious to see where you went later that day and the next to see if we maybe crossed paths somewhere in there! Who knows!?

That would be so cool!!
-------

I love Dug! So is he there regularly then? I hope he stays for a while, I would love to meet him but we aren't going back until next year :sad1:

Nice pics of the tigers, I like watching them, they are so beautiful! I love the rest of Maharajah trek but those bats creep me out! :scared1:

Great pics of the animal carvings on the TOL, the It's Tough To Be a Bug show is fun, I hate bugs of all kinds but animated ones I can handle! LOL
