Leave the G side alone...don't add anything to it. I still think the other decals will not look as big once they are actually on the wall. They look bigger right now because the paper they are on are taking up wall space. Once that is gone, I think they will be fine. Just my opinion. :)

image.jpeg The living room looks great! It is really coming together nicely. I don't think you need anything above the G frame but that is just me. The media cabinet looks fine unpainted. I think your walls look beautiful the way they are right now…you really don't need anything on the G side..it's such a nice focal point! As for the letters, I don't think they are too big…they look great!!You are doing a nice job!!

I love how it looks! I wouldn't add anything above the G frame--I think that might start to make things look too crowded. I really like how the decal/curtain rod/frames came together. I think adding more on the right side might take away from how perfect that looks already.

I agree with leaving the G as is for now too. I think a "wait and see" on the decal once it is off the paper is a good idea. I get what you are saying about there being two different heights but I think since there isn't a frame on the wording, it may look fine once the paper is off. If not, you could always just to a little decorative swirl above it (horizontally) and maybe match it style wise to a decal running vertical on the sides of the media area in a bigger size. It would draw the paisley into the rest of the room? Just an idea. Sometimes it takes living with something for a while to decide after the newness of a change wears off. have a great day

The walls looks great

I agree with Allison that you don't need anything on the wall where the TV is. I think it will just look cluttered with more on the walss where the TV is.

I hope you have a great day

Here it's summer now with 56ºF There are still no leafs on the trees and the lawns hasn't turned green, but I still call it summer since we have 56ºF outside. They say it will be 59ºF outside tomorrow. So I really need to find my summer shoes and change to summer socks and ditch the jacket I've been wearing outside.

Everything looks great. I love all the pictures and the decals. I agree maybe one small simple decal on the side of the wall with the "G" would make it even out a bit. But other then that - I love everything! The room looks so homey!

The room is coming together nicely. I would wait to see if you should add anything above the "G". Once you have the decal on the wall and step back you might look at things differently.

As for the fire here, this mornings report is that 1,900 acres are destroyed and the fire was 60% contained. The rain did not help the other day, as they only got a few drops of rain.
As for us and our home we are fine. The fire is about 20 minute drive up the mountain and it headed in the other direction. In the evening you can see the red amber glowing. It is so sad that this happened, but thankfully no one has lost their home and no injuries have been reported.

Hope you have a great day!

Everything is turning out great. Might have to still the way you did the G stuff. Just gotta get out of military housing first.

Well, I have it up... I still think the G side looks a bit low. I am going to leave it for a few days - but I think I may end up adding something to that side... Either a small decal or ribbon or something - just to make them look a little more even. Otherwise I love it though and I am very happy with how it looks over all. ::yes::

Thank you - I am super happy with how it's looking and coming together.

Hehehee... I love succulents too - I really want to get some and I would LOVE to do them in a pot like you have, to go under the TV on the media console. I've heard that succulents are pretty easy to keep alive - which is one of the main reasons why I've been considering them. :scratchin Good luck!! The best one is Allison's big camera - his name is Gregory... So, I always get weird looks when we are out, and I ask her "Are you sure you have Gregory in your backpack/bag?" :lmao:

it really is looking great! I'm terrible at interior decorating/design....I'm a Pinterest girl, too -- it's where I find most of my ideas!

Thanks - I am really quite shocked at how cozy it is in that room now... It's very comfortable and inviting... I really like that. LOL Yes - I think Pinterest needs more though... LOL I feel like I've seen the same things over and over.

It's looking so beautiful!

Thank you - I am so happy with it... And I am so proud that it's something we've completely done on our own AND finished. LOL Now - on this weekend's schedule... we are starting the kitchen... Well - after I go back and do the touch up paint that we need to do.

I think your walls look beautiful the way they are right now…you really don't need anything on the G side..it's such a nice focal point! As for the letters, I don't think they are too big…they look great!!You are doing a nice job!!

Thank you! :lovestruc I am still having a hard time with the fact that "Always Something" is so high on the wall compared to the G side... In the end - I think I may just put some small vinyl letters above the G, just to give it more height... But I am going to live with it for a few days first, and then decide. I'll post pictures below of how it all turned out.

I love how it looks! I wouldn't add anything above the G frame--I think that might start to make things look too crowded. I really like how the decal/curtain rod/frames came together. I think adding more on the right side might take away from how perfect that looks already.

Thank you... I have not decided yet - but I am still considering adding some vinyl letters above the G area... I found a cute small phrase I like on Etsy... I'll live with it for a few days/weeks and see how I feel about it after we do the kitchen. Thank you for your honest opinion though - I appreciate that a lot! :lovestruc

Hi Heidi! :) I do plan to leave it for a few days/weeks to see how I feel about it... I did get the vinyl done last night - so I' have photos below. ::yes::

That is a good idea!!! :scratchin I will see what I can find! :lovestruc

Thanks for all of the ideas!!! :)

Thanks Lillian!

I am still not sure about the TV area... I took a better picture yesterday so you all can see what I mean.

Yay for summer being there - I hope you are able to get out and enjoy it. :lovestruc

Thanks! I love how comfortable and inviting it feels right now... It's a bit strange to love any room in my house, well, except for my sewing room - I've loved that for years. :) Yes - that is all I am thinking I need there now... Something small, right on top of the frame... It doesn't need to be any more than about 3" high, and I really think that would even everything out. I am going to live with it for a few days/weeks and see how I feel after we finish the kitchen. :lovestruc

Thanks - I am really happy with it so far.... I still need to find some frames to put 2 pictures up on the right side of the bay window... And I need to decide if I should do anything on the walls beside the media console... Oh and order curtains - or figure out some different ones... Otherwise - that room is done. Gosh it feels good! :lovestruc

That is so sad about the fire... I sure hope they are able to get it 100% contained soon. I am also thankful that no homes have been destroyed... Hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks - same to you!

Everything is turning out great. Might have to still the way you did the G stuff. Just gotta get out of military housing first.

Thank you! LOL - steal away, I am flattered that you like it that much. Believe it or not - that is my own idea... LOL Well, it's a mish-mash of a few different things I found on Etsy anyways. ::yes:: And as I was trying to design it - laying it out on the floor - the girls really thought I was nuts... but now that it's up on the walls, they really like it a lot - so do I. :lovestruc

*************************************************************************************************

So - I didn't walk at all yesterday... Grrrr... So disappointed in myself this week... Eating has been terrible... Exercise has been sporadic... Yah... But in my defiense - it was pouring rain the only time I was available to walk... So....

I took Victoria to her appointment - afterwards, I dropped my entire vehicle of stuff off at Goodwill... It feels great to have it empty again - as I barely had room for a 3rd passenger. ::yes::

V and I stopped at Aldi's and grabbed a few groceries... Then we stopped at Chipotle for an early lunch before I dropped her off at school.

I came home and worked upstairs the remainder of the day.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: V received a letter yesterday - she was accepted into art school when she graduates high school!!! :woohoo: We are all so happy and proud of her!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Last night... I tried to talk Josh into moving the curtain rod (that the frames are hanging on) down about 3"... But he wouldn't do it. :( I debated on taking matters into my own hands, and I guess, in a way - I did. I decided to give the "illusion" that the rod was lower, by making the ribbons the frames are hanging on longer... It sort of worked. And then I got the guts to actually hang the vinyl letters... Suzi had the idea to take off "There is" and not have it up there, so I did that, and it looks a bit more even. I am going to live with all of it for a few days/weeks and see how I feel... I still may add this over the top of the G frame to make it all more even: https://www.etsy.com/listing/289387193/grateful-thankful-blessed-dining-room

Anyways - here's how it turned out... Overall, I am very happy with it!!!

20160428_212641.jpg

You can still kind of see where it's off though... :scratchin

20160428_210039.jpg

So... Now I need to figure out if I need to put anything on the walls at all on either side of the media console?? If I do - it will be something (I think) tall and narrow and symmetrical. I tried to get a picture with the entire wall... please forgive the corner of stuff we still have out for working in there... I still feel as if it's *OK* with out anything there, but it's a wide wall and I feel like it's a little bare with only the TV/media console there. :scratchin

20160428_163944.jpg

And that's all I did last night.

Today... Well, the girls and I were able to carry the chest from the office to upstairs... Which means I finally have my office back to work out in... And since I missed a few days of working out this week - I will be working out every morning through the weekend. ::yes:: I may even go for a walk later too - as penance.

Then I will be working upstairs all day long today... I am a smidge behind and I am hoping a good long dedicated day up there will catch me up. :thumbsup2

Finally - tonight - or before Josh comes home from work... I plan to take everything off the walls in the kitchen, and have everything ready for painting this weekend... Again - we also have a lot of trim work to do in this room... We have a closet to be trimmed and a front door interior to be trimmed, plus the window above the sink... These all have their extension jams done - so it's just a matter of adding trim... Should be fairly cut & dried. I am honestly hoping to have this entire room done over the weekend... Aside from the floor - that will be a next weekend job... You know - the part where Cooper ATE my floor... Yah... :scratchin

Once the red wall is painted behind the China cabinet (oh did I tell you all, for V's party - I plan to repaint the kitchen again - I want to do a turquoise... ::yes:: ) - then I can get my Grandmother's China off of my counter tops and back into the China cabinet - where it's safe.

And that's it = that's our plan for the weekend...

Once the kitchen is done - I am not sure of our next project... We have a laundry list that includes our main floor bathroom... Also - pulling the carpet off of the stairs and praying we have cute farmhouse stairs under the carpet... Then we will move on to the outdoors and start working on spring cleaning/yard work and setting up the front porch for spring and sitting... And the back deck for the same. So, a bit of a list - but the living room was the biggie. ::yes::

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend!!! :lovestruc

Congratulations to V getting accepted into art school. :woohoo:

The walls in your living room looks great. I still don't think you need anything on the walls where the media console is.

How great that you are done with the living room now and ready to move to the kitchen. I can't wait to see what you do with the kitchen.

Today Ulf is changing the tires on my car. Today Tromsø official don't have any snow on the ground. But people still have some snow in their gardens because they have used their garden as a depot when clearing the snow from their driveway. On 29th April 1997 Tromsø got it's snow record of 94,5 inch or 240 cm. On the same date this year (today) we got a heat record for April today with 60.8ºF. I don't like the heat so I'm already starting to look forward to fall. I really should emigrate to Longyearbyen on Spitsbergen during the summer. They have a summer temperature I like with a average of 50ºF. I like that temperature much better :)

A geocaching friends asked if Ulf and I wanted to come with them to find a geocache this weekend. The cache is located not far from here, but it's very tricky to get to the cache because it's under the pier. So we are going to try and get it when it's ebb. It's always more fun to geocache when we are more people. These geocaching friends we are geocaching with this weekend is the same friends we are going to St.Petersburg, Russia to geocache in late June early July. Last year we went with them to Harstad ( a town 5 hours drive from Tromsø) for a weekend and geocached there. We had so much fun. So before Christmas our friends said that they had so much fun that they would love to go with us on a new geocaching trip this summer. So we ended up going to Russia this summer.

On Wednesday next week Ulf and I are going to Helsinki, Finland to meet a lot of other geocaching friends. I'm really looking forward to the trip. When I'm back from that trip on Monday 9th May the garage is supposed to start to customize my new car. :woohoo:

Congratulations to V -- that's wonderful! What an accomplishment!

I think I'm with you....the G side could use something to add a bit more height to balance out the other side...

I love how the room is coming together!

CONGRATULATIONS TO V :yay:

Just a quick update, the fire is fully contained but unfortunately it has destroy 2,028 acres. I am thankful that no one was hurt and that no one lost their home.

Hope you get the kitchen area done this weekend.

My issue with adding anything to the G side will make it too close to the ceiling. That would bother me more than it not being symmetrical like my brain thinks things should be. The console side...I have to think about that. I don't know about putting something on the walls as much as putting tall skinny objects (think palm trees, lol) on either side. Or maybe tall lamp tables and put your tall lamps on them to balance it out. Maybe paint the lamps to stand out more. Look at me...I am so not a decorator, lol so you may just want to ignore me! ;)

V received a letter yesterday - she was accepted into art school when she graduates high school!!! :woohoo: We are all so happy and proud of her!!!!
This is fantastic! Congratulations to V! She must be so happy to have gotten an acceptance this early!:goodvibes
I LOVE how the wall turned out. It really looks great. I especially like the ribbon you used to hang the girls and the puppies silhouettes. very cool pattern!:thumbsup2

Congrats to V!!! She is an amazing artist. How exciting!!! Does she have Disney aspirations? With talent like that I'm sure there is something for her there. Good luck with the weekend projects. We're getting landscape rocks delivered for our flower beds outside. It is supposed to be in the 90's this weekend. My poor hubby :rotfl2:

Congratulations to V!!!!:yay: What a great accomplishment !pixiedust: I think your walls turned out great, I love them!!!!
