Hi - I think you and Josh might have some luck at Restore for countertops. They are in MN. Not sure if this is allowed but here is one of them.

Restore - Habitat for Humanity building goods. They have everything even solid wood cabinets if you catch it right.

What a wonderful thing both girls have college destinations set. What a relief and also so many more emotions in that. Congratulations!

My apologies, no replies this morning, as I am mobile.

I received a call from my dad yesterday morning, they were taking him by ambulance to the hospital for his leg. He could not wait for his regularily scheduled Dr. appt this morning.

I dropped everything and came to sit with him & to advocate for his care.

As most of you know, he's been fighting this leg issue for months. I've also noticed that he gets very tired, very quickly.

They ran several tests yesterday in the ER on his heart & they have not come back as anything conclusive, but they are different than the tests he had done a few years ago, which could indicate an issue.

Also, any time my dad does anything other than lay or sit down, his oxygen levels drop into the 60% range. Just getting up and walking 10 feet to the restroom does this to him.

Initially, they were thinking congestive heart failure, but for the amount of fluid he has on his legs, the fluid on his heart & lungs is "unimpressive".

But in order to rule all of this out, they have to run a million tests... Then they can move on to looking at other things.

One highly probable issue could be sleep apnea. But again, that can't be checked until all heart issues are ruled out.

So, i am with my dad for the duration. I may run home tonight, but i will come back tomorrow. It sounds like the earliest he will be released is Friday.

Josh & the girls are holding the fort down at home.

Sending prayers & pixie dust to all... I will try to keep you all updated as i can. :lovestruc

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Crossing my fingers that they figure it all out soon and that it's not too serious.

Sending many prayers and positive thoughts for you and your Dad....so glad you're able to be with him to advocate for his care!

It's wonderful you were able to be there with him--from seeing my Mom spend so much time dealing with doctors, etc. on behalf of my Grandma in her battle with Alzheimer's, I know how truly important it is to have someone there to be an advocate. Blessings on you and your Dad. Praying for answers soon.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. My dad is 86 and also has problems with fluid in his legs. He does not have diabetes though and they also ran tests for congestive heart failure, but his heart is good. They did increase the strength of his water pills and that seems to be helping. They did find out when his was in the hospital for pneumonia that he wasn't eating well and needed more protein. He still lives at home and was eating too much junk. They recommended protein drinks and I really think they have helped tremendously with his stamina and just getting out and doing more. Not sure if they would help your dad since he gets his meals made for him, but thought I would mention it.

Thanks you all for the get well wishes for my dad... I came home last night to repack, and sleep in my own bed. I plan to work out this morning, go up to my sewing room for just a few minutes to get last week's order out the door today, and then I am headed back to the hospital for the remainder of his stay... Unless he is there past Friday - then I will try to come home again for a night in there somewhere.

I don't have any updates, the Dr. has been calling me after morning rounds, if I am not there, but not after evening rounds. Hopefully I will know more before I get there today.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! :lovestruc

Will keep your dad and you in my thoughts and hope you get some answers soon!

Just wanted to pop in and say I'm sending prayers for your Dad.

Also congrats to V for art school. And your living room is looking fantastic!

I'm headed to WDW later this month, so if you have anything you need me to look for, I'll be glad to do it. I'll try and see what Evergreens has on the menu--we aren't staying there, but we will definitely be visiting to puchase goodies at the store since they have better prices on snack items, etc.

Thinking happy thoughts! Glad you were able to go back home for the night and recharge. Keep us posted!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Thinking of you and hoping the tests do not show anything serious.
