I went to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios today. I only saw a few lovebugs. I saw a lot of bees at Epcot, but that is because of all the flowers. I think the lovebugs are all hanging out at my house!

My dad had his first experience of love bugs today! He drives truck and was in Alabama and talking to my mom on his cell phone and told her about how it seems that he was constantly hitting these bugs with the truck and they were making a mess on the windshield. He'd never heard of love bug until I told both of my parents about them last week so they could be prepared for our upcoming trip. He knows exactly what they are now!

Yep they are here in full force now. They are all over my backyard since last week. . Thank god they are here 2x a year - May and Sept. Last year we were lucky we didn't really have them due to the wildfires we had here in Central FL and Georgia. The smoke kept them away but they are back this year.

I noticed they are not really a nuisance in the parks though. I was at EPCOT last weekend and I saw nothing. So that will be a relief to some.

I've seen a total of 10 since I arrived late Thursday night. I've been to 2 parks in that time (full days) and they are actually kinda hard to find. They really aren't a problem any where that I have seen. I am going to Sea World tomorrow so it could be a different story since they seem to like areas with water.

Once they arrive, how long do they stay? Or, more particularly for me (because of course, it's all about me! ), do you think they'll still be there on May 23 when we arrive?

I'm at Saratoga Springs right now. Have been here since 5/1. have seen perhaps two (pair) per day. If I wasn't aware of love bugs I wouldn't have noticed them at all. Have been on boats, buses, pools, beaches, parks. No bugs, no problem.

Do they bite? And if so, how bad? I bruise awful to bug bites.

Last year we were there from May 24th - June 10. Although they were pretty bad on the roads, and there were a good few at the bus stops, they weren't too bad at the parks at all. This year we'll be there from Sept. 6-13. Should they be at about the same level, or worse?

I'm in Baton Rouge,LA and we are getting some.Its not a bunch of swarms yet but I do see some in my yard and on the roads. The other day I was driving and I drove through a large group of them flying around the road and I had to roll my windows up because they were getting in my car. My kids asked me why they were 'stuck together' and I told them they were siamese (sp) twins Hehehe no explaining the birds and the bee's yet.

Just got back from a week at WDW, 4/26 to 5/3. I think I saw maybe 4 or 5 pairs of love bugs during the whole week. Hardly noticeable. Of course, one pair was on a railing of the backlot tour tram at DHS, and our 5 yo DGD took great interest in them. She thought they were kissing. We confirmed that for her.

Maybe since they were early this year they will go away early also. (Wishful thinking, I know.) Last year was the first time I really noticed them that badly, and my trip is the same time of the year this year.
