They're Back! RE: LoveBugs!

They have been pretty light this year.
Last year they were pretty bad.
I was at DHS on Sunday and only about 10 went splat on my SUV on my way there.
Last year there was so many that I got my truck washed at the Hess before returning home.

Overheard at DHS on 5-12-08: Woman yelling at her husband--"These bugs are attacking me and him(pointing to baby in stroller). Do something NOW or I am going to die." The husband just looked confused! :confused3 I was laughing my head off because there were VERY few lovebugs around. Guess she was not a Disser. :lmao:

Outside Epcot one day while we were there this month, a little boy saw one on a bench and said "See Dad!!! I told you they had two heads!!" :rotfl:

I told the dad they were called lovebugs and he looked at me sideways like he was trying to figure out if I was kidding him. :confused3

Just got back yesterday. Saw very few at the parks...mostly in ToonTown & Epcot (cause of all the flowers?). The car was covered with them, so they are around, but not really bothersome. Can't recall seeing more than a couple at the hotel (POP).

They are ugly little things but they really didn't bother us much. DH thought it was fun to try to separate them. Like there's not enough entertainment at DISNEY!! :rotfl2: :confused3

Okay you all will be happy to hear that I survived!!! We were there the 18th to 24th. For the most part they were very avoidable. Did see them here and there but nothing insane. I actually saw more cockroaches than I did lovebugs! With one minor exception. Our second day of the trip we had rain so the next morning when we were waiting for the bus to epcot they started off in small amounts but enough to make the girls jump around swating and screaming. Me... I just hid behind my dad! (He's a big guy) But then as they started to kind of swarm and we had quite a few of them my daughter decides to shove me right into the mix of them. I thought I was going to fall on the ground and die at that exact moment. Of course I survived, calmed down, got on the bus and hardly saw any the rest of the day.

Good to hear they are dying down. We leave on our second trip to Disney Saturday, the first trip was during the peak of Lovebug season in September..

We have great timing!

I got back today and was in WDW for a week, I saw probably 15 'sets' of love bugs over the whole week, but it was always just one 'set' not a swarm, or even a few. If you didnt know what it was, you wouldnt even notice it. :)
