They'd Better Get Ready on the East Coast!! May 2009 **TR started on TR boards!!**

Posting here to join in and now going back to read it all!

Nice question today! I would like to see a Villians themed park with roller coasters and dark rides. I know it's been discussed here on the DIS before, I think it would be fun!

For a resort, I, too, would like to see a World Showcase resort. I'd love to stay in a flat in the center of Paris or a Tuscan villa (DVC) in Italy!

Oooh, I am loving the Villains theme park idea. How cool would that be!?

I don't necessarily have a theme but I would love to see rides and attractions based on more of the Disney movies. There are a lot of movies out there that don't have influence in the parks.

Hiya!:flower3: My photos aren't nearly as beautiful/cute as yours, but I try! LOL

Oooh, a Villain themed parks would be awesome! I would love one with huge coasters.

I totally agree with that. That's part of why I think an animated park would be neat, to give more exposure to the tons of Disney movies that don't include Cinderella... but are still great!!

Later tonight I'm going to sit down and write my own WDW Top 10 List (idea borrowed from Enchanted's PTR!:goodvibes ) but for now I'm going to have a nap, take some advil and try to get down some soup. Or maybe pasta.

Also, this is kind of random... but I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all you guys reading and posting along with me. I was so nervous I would just be talking to myself on here and now I've reached 13 pages and I feel like a little kid, but it makes me so happy! I love being able to come on here and share my planning and little bits of my life. There's such a great feeling of community here. So thank you to each and every one of you who takes the time to be a part of my journey!:wizard: I love being a part of yours too!

Aw you are so sweet. I'm glad we met!

I know I need to say thanks, too~ I was so glad to realize I am not the only disney crazed person out there. My DH thinks I am nuts, how can you spend 2 years planning a vacation? Well this is how. He asked me last night if I would be off the computer when we get home from our trip. Are you kidding then I have to do our post trip and show all my photos. Especially of the food, he wants to hide under the table. So thanks again! I don't know where I would be without you all!:flower3:

Bleghhh I am totally sick today (ahem... Enchanted... perhaps I caught it from you?:rotfl: )...
:rotfl: Oh NO! I've infected you with my yicky, icky germs! Gives a whole new meaning to the term "computer virus," doesn't it? :lmao:

But seriously, I'm sorry you're feeling so yucky. Feel better soon, girl!

If you could choose the theme of the next park or resort to be built, what would it be?
I LOVE the idea of a World Showcase resort. That would be SO. TOTALLY. WICKED. As for another theme park, I think they should have used the idea for Pop Century as a park. Each land could have been a different decade, and had rides themed to both the Disney movies of that time as well as other pop culture symbols. Whatever the theme of a fifth park, though, I definitely want a Bedknobs and Broomsticks ride thrown in somewhere. It was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid, and it's just screaming for a ride treatment where you ride along on a bed. :goodvibes
Later tonight I'm going to sit down and write my own WDW Top 10 List (idea borrowed from Enchanted's PTR!:goodvibes )
I can't wait to hear about your Top 10!!! :cool1: I feel so honored that you liked my idea enough to use it in your PTR. Seriously, I'm blushing. Hahaha!

And I feel the same way about talking to people on their TRs. Like, I've only known you for a few days, but I already feel like we're buddies! Like Tink said, I'm so glad to have met you!

Looking forward to your next update!

Ugh. I didn't get to my Top 10 last night because I am still feeling awful...

I was up until 5 in the morning because I couldn't sleep, swallowing was too painful. I can't even swallow food... right now I'm subsisting on Powerade.

I'm off to the doctor now, I called TeleHealth Ontario last night and they said to go to the doctor since it sounds like a strep infection. Yuck.

Anyways, I'll be back later with my list and some replies... for now I just want to show up at the doctor and ask her to put me out of my misery.:rotfl:

Sending out healthy vibes for all of you!!!:grouphug:

Oh, no! I'm so sorry you are sick. I've been down with the flu & it's been just miserable. DD has gotten Strep a number of times & it is painful. She always gets the shot & is better within like 10 hours afterwards. I hope you can get the same relief!

Sending you get healthy vibes right back!

Your trip plans & ADRs sound great so far! I was sorry to hear about the DL trip being postponed. I hope they reschedule where you can go. Her's some pixiedust: to help it along!

I love your What If game. For the last question, I'd love to see a park based on all the Disney Movies, too. I'd love to see some rides/attractions based on the lesser touted films. Much as I love Pixar & the 1990's to 2000's movies, I have a soft spot for the films from the earlier generations.

Wouldn't it be fun to have some rides/attractions based on animated films like Bambi (ride similar to Pooh/Peter Pan, where you ride through the storyline), Brother Bear (a water ride with some twists & turns through a forest with animatronic bears, moose, etc), 101 Dalmations (an immersion ride where you help find all 101 dalmations hidden along the ride - like Buzz Lightyear & TSM, but you aim a "net" for the puppies), Jungle Book (don't know what kind of ride/attraction, but I just love Baloo & friends), The Rescuers (again - not sure what kind of ride - but one of my favs). My DD votes for an adventure ride to help get the Aristocats back home (her fav Disney movie).

I'd love to see something for some live action films, also. Like Escape to Witch Mountain (another Mountain ride perhaps? with the new movie sequel, this would be timely as well), the Herbie movies (a "crazy" car ride), Mary Poppins (there is so much you could do for this one!), and maybe something for the current tween set like "Sing Along with Hannah Montana" - though I think that would need to get changed out as the popular stars change through time.

I could go on for ages, but I won't bore everyone any more. :p

Back to your regularly scheduled PTR. :flower3:

I totally agree... without this board I would be driving my family absolutely crazy! After our trip this year we might not be going back until 2011 or 2012... but you can bet I will be planning that whole time!:rotfl:

I'm glad to have met you too! It's so easy to make friends on the DIS because it the people here are the only ones who understand the conundrum that comes with deciding which type of bag to carry into the parks... which codes to use... how to plan the perfect itinerary... figuring out park hours... everything like that. Hopefully I'll get my Top 10 done tonight, I think it's such a fun idea! Thanks for letting me borrow it!:wizard: And a Pop Century park would be so neat... I can't wait to see what the next park Disney adds is!

I hope you feel better soon! :flower3:

Thank you!!!:flower3:

You should totally apply for a job in Imagineering! I love all your ideas!:thumbsup2 I'm sorry you've been sick as well. I hope you are on your way to feeling better!! And thanks for the pixie dust regarding the DL trip... I've got my fingers crossed!

So I just got back from the doctor and am waiting to hear from the lab results... I've been trying to get down some real food but am mostly sticking with sports drinks, milkshakes and soup. Hopefully I'll get the results of the throat swab tomorrow but the doctor guessed it was strep. She gave me a prescription for some sort of throat rinse which you gargle with and it numbs your throat. It has been a LIFESAVER. Oh my gosh, I can actually swallow now!

It's pretty grey here today, but at least it is warm! It's supposed to get cold again starting tomorrow, but it rained all today and yesterday and soooo much of the snow melted! I took this picture out of my bedroom window since no doubt it is going to snow again and be completely white out there within a week LOL. It looks kind of grey but it is so nice to be able to have my window open!

Looks like spring out there!!!

I'm sorry you're still feeling so bad! I've never had strep (Our family is supposedly "carriers," so we can give it to other people but not actually get sick ourselves. :confused3), but I know lots of people who have it right now. I've actually used that same throat rinse stuff at the dentist. I have a bad gag reflex :scared: so it helps when they're taking x-rays of my back teeth. Glad to hear it's helping!

It's so nice when the snow starts melting off, isn't it? We had a couple of days lately when the temperature was in the 50s. It was sooooo nice. I can't wait for spring! :yay:

Looking forward to the next update, but until then, feel better soon! :cheer2:

Sending you hugs  to get better real soon. I'm surprised it's taking a whole day to get your results back. That stinks.:headache: DD has had strep over 10 times (her best friend's family are carriers) over the years & they are able to test her throat swab while we wait (usually 10-15 minutes). Here's hoping they are able to diagnose & get you started on some antibiotics real soon. I'm glad to hear you can at least swallow with the throat rinse!

Oh, my! Living where it snows must be SO different! Spring has pretty much sprung here! I'll put in some cute smilies to help along your spring fever! :teeth:

For the last few weeks the highs have been in the 70's & sunny :sunny:. The grass is greening up, the fruit trees are blooming, flowers are sprouting up:flower2: , the clover is growing in the pastures:shamrock:, the butterflies are fluttering:butterfly - the whole shebang.

It's raining today:umbrella: , but the sun will come out tomorrow (now I've got that song in my head!). We'll probably have one more light freeze during the night before April, but that's all. I'll send some of our warm, spring-y weather your way!:thumbsup2

Eughh still feeling sick today. Another day in bed... and on the DIS. It's a beautiful, sunny, warm day here though. Only -1! Almost all of our snow is gone.

Oh, it's so nice for the snow to be melting! I'm not even going to look at the long range forecast because I'm afraid the snow might be making a return LOL. And that's interesting they use the same rinse in dentistry. It sure is effective, it makes my mouth completely numb!!

Oh I would looooove to get out of the snow. I am so NOT a winter person. It sounds absolutely gorgeous where you are! I dream of moving south someday. Love the cute spring smilies.:goodvibes I would love to have some of your weather... send it right on up here!

Aw hun, I hope you get to feeling better.

Thanks!

Oh, I hope it's not Strep! Get well soon!!! :goodvibes

Well, I'll know soon! I'm hoping it isn't strep because that means I won't be able to go into work for two weeks (because the kids are really susceptible to illness). I have my fingers crossed!

And FINALLY... Here is my Walt Disney World Top 10 List (credit goes to Enchanted!) for things I want to accomplish this trip:

1. Meet Belle! Belle is my favourite princess, but I only have one picture of me with her from years ago. I would love to get another one.

2. Visit both water parks. In all the times we've been to Disney, we've never been to one. Can't wait to see what they're all about!

3. Take the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Another thing we haven't done, and it will be cool to be able to see "backstage"

4. Eat at the Main Street Bakery. I've been inside, smelled it but... never actually eaten anything from there!:scared1:

5. Get a pair of Mickey ears. Another classic Disney thing I've never done! Well, I had a pair of Minnie ears when I was five, but they were a plastic headband and hurt my head so I never wore them.:rotfl:

6. Attend just ONE morning extra magic hour. We've done tons of PM ones but have never been up early enough in the morning!

7. Ride Dumbo! Perhaps I'm a DIS outcast... never eaten at the MS bakery, never worn Mickey ears, never ridden Dumbo. But I promise to fix this come May!

8. "Eat around the World" at the World Showcase and get something to eat from each country.

9. Get a Tinkerbell Slush at Sleepy Hollow in MK.

10. Try to catch a ride in the front of the monorail!

Now I'm off to go nap and watch some of the planning DVD on my laptop... later this afternoon I'll catch up on all the PTRs I've been slacking on!

Oh no! I almost forgot! The Disney "If" Question for today... :cheer2: :cheer2:

If you could have a permanent Fastpass to any ride in any park, which would it be? (You can choose one ride in each park if you want!)

In MK I would choose Space Mountain.
In Epcot I would choose Soarin'
In DHS I would choose Rockin Roller Coaster
In AK I would choose either Dinosaur or Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Oh, and at the resort... I would choose a FP to the front of the line for the shower every morning!!:lmao:

I hope you feel better soon!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hmmm...fast passes...

HS: TOT
AK: Everest
MK: SM
Epcot: Soarin'

The only good thing about a sick day is -- more time on DIS!! :thumbsup2

I love your top ten idea! Mmm...the Main Street Bakery is DH's favorite thing about MK - seriously. :rotfl2: He has a very severe weakness for pastries, and the cupcakes there are very yummy!! And you know, I had never had a real pair of mouse ears until we got a dream pair last year? I just never felt compelled to buy them, but since they were free...:thumbsup2 Make sure to have your name stitched on them.

Fast passes:

MK: Splash Mountain -- although Space Mountain is a close second.
AK: EE
DHS: ToT
Epcot: TT
