Could it be an error?
It was there for so long and now RDCT is off the calendar for the first week of June (it was there friday 5th, saturday 6th, sunday 7th and I think monday and tuesday as the last performance was suppose to be Tuesday.

What happened? Does anybody know if they are stopping it in May now? Could it be a glitch?

I read somewhere about them changing the fireworks show for the summer but can't remember the details. I think the new one was supposed to start June 12th or something. :confused3

The Disneyland Resort will be introducing a new Fireworks Spectacular Magical, for the Summer Nightastic! Special Event beginning 12 June 2009.

In preperation for this, the Disneyland Resort will unfortunately have no Fireworks presentations for a period before the introduction of the new show.

The Remember...Dreams Come True Fireworks Spectacular will be returning upon the completion of the Special Event on 23 August 2009.

Please note that all Disneyland Resort Entertainment Offerings are subject to change at any time without prior notice.

Wha?????

It was listed as happening on Fri, June 5 as late as this past Thursday - the last time I checked. Great. :sad2:

Yeah, that's it! What she said! :rotfl:

We had orginally tried to go the first week of June. I'm glad now we had to change it to the end of June.

I'm pretty sure that I read on Miceage that it was supposed to run through that weekend and the first few days of the week and the new fireworks were suppossed to start on june 12th. I guess DL changed their minds.

I just saw this on the calendar today and haven't yet told my family. :shakehead They are going to be very disappointed, as am I. It's ironic that we've always gone to DLR the off season, Feb or early March and have had fireworks and F! on the weekends. The one time we brave the summer, we're there June 3-9, we get neither :(

That's terrible, esp. for those you planning to go during that time. What a bummer. Well, I guess you can think of it this way, maybe it will be less crowded as other's moved the plans around the fireworks schedule. I don't know. I'm sorry, bummer...

I'm bummed too. We always go this time of year and they have fireworks on the weekends. We love the fireworks at DL! What is really sad is that my DD friend from school and her family are coming with us and its their first time and I've REALLY been hyping up the fireworks show - now I have to explain that its not happening...yikes! But...

there is plenty to do at DL and I'm sure all the girls will be just fine!

Oh no. We will be at DL June 4-7. I was so upset when I didn't think the fireworks would be shown, and then so excited when I talked to customer service and they told me the fireworks would be shown at the regular time (except for June 4 which is Grad Night), and then a few days later the fireworks were on the park hours schedule. And now they are taken off???? Maybe this is so they can test out the new fireworks the weekend before they officially debut? Has anyone called Disneyland about this? When I called before, I was told that the phone operators can see the park hours schedule even before it is updated online. I think they have better/more up-to-date information than is shown on the website.

What a crock of you know what! :mad:Disney wake up! :mad:I'm not even going during that time and I'm P/O'd for all of you! :mad:This sucks! :mad:What a customer service nightmare! What is it, that they'll save a few bucks by cutting it the last few days that people were so looking forward to? :mad:What a joke!

Is this really true???? Yikes! I JUST got through telling my kids 3 days ago and now this?! We are going to be there from June 6-10th! Have any of you called?
Ughh!

I think someone just needs to call.....hopefully it is just some update they are doing to the calendar or something :( I would call but I can't today (at work) but the last time I called, I spoke with a very helpful woman that told me the times of the fireworks before they even were showing on the website. I am really tired of this back and forth.

Yeah, we kind of noticed that. But especially since they haven't been updating their calendar further than 6 weeks out it's unacceptable. :sad2: Even 6 weeks out is not enough time to be able to cancel your airfare and start planning all over again for a better date when you find out that the DL vacation you dreamed about isn't showing important elements that you are used to seeing on a Disney vacay. :sad2: I think it's lame of them to change their calendar that they just recently posted. If you have any kind of authority, maybe you can pass that info along to your superiors. :idea:Maybe they are so out of touch with real families who travel there that they are completely unaware of the impact it has on people planning a trip out there...Or maybe they do and they just don't give a hoot.:sad2:

I just called guest services to ask about RDCT fireworks show. The CM I spoke with said that it still showed on her calendars that the fireworks are scheduled for Jun 5-9 and she hasn't been advised that they are removing them. I told her that the online calendar does not list the fireworks any longer and she said that I was the first person to mention that to her. She advised me to check back next week to see if anything had changed prior to my arrival.

Ooh I hope the CM's schedule is the correct one. I am already disappointed that the parks will be closing early for Grad Night on June 4 and that we won't get to see Fantasmic, the night parade, etc. so I don't think I can take any more disappointing news!

I would keep checking. The calendar just did that with the POTC short refurb, it was on the calendar for refurb, they took it off for a couple days and put it back on the refurb list.

They'll probably be doing a soft opening for the new show as that is what they did for Dreams. Since the new show will be opening on the 12th, they need about a week to test out the new show to make sure everything is in sync. The only thing is that they will not schedule the new show on the calendar so you will either have to check on the boards to see if it will be showing. If you call the park, they probably wont' tell you that there is a soft opening because they might decide to run it on certain nights before official opening. Try checking on mouseplanet or micechat since those 2 boards have a lot of SoCal locals and those boards primarily focus on Disneyland moreso than this one.

Disneyland has no excuses. Note how the closing of Astro Orbitor has never been listed on disneyland.com - now weeks after it shut down. People planning visits should be able to depend on the official information Disney puts out on its own web site. Disney is usually quite slow to update the site, which is frustrating itself, but once the schedule is put up, it ought to be solid. If there's any event that is tentatively scheduled, Disney ought not to publicize it in the first place.

Oh, yeah, here's another visitor that will now (apparently) not get to see any fireworks, in addition to missing Fantasmic! :sad2:
