so are they're saying that these guys are "connected with" the shooting......I haven't heard anyone say (yet) that these guys are/were the sniper (but I'm praying that they got him)...their being taken for questioning.

I heard on the news that the older man (Mohammed) used to live in that house in Tacoma.... and they have linked a bullet fragment found in the stump they took to the weapon used in the shootings. Also that these 2 men were known to be "sympathetic" to the 9-11 hijackers...

Well, I said on another thread, its my gut feeling that these guys are the by-product, not the goal, of this investigation. I can only pray that my gut feeling is wrong.

They are in custody now Laurie.... arrested about 2 a.m. est. They have NOT arrested them for the sniper case yet- but a weapons charge I believe. They need to make sure they dot all their i's and cross all their t's.

I do wonder however about all of the "white van" witnesses...

I just thought of something.... the same gun was used to kill and shoot every victim.... soooooooooo..... if there were more shooters than they were all passing around the same gun. How likely is that? Hopefully they will find the gun in the car.

NBC reported this morning that authorities think those two are the ones and will charge them.

God knows what the truth is, but I hope this is it.

Okay, I stayed up most of the night watching the whole thing. It sounds like the Jamaican bank account tied the two men to the sniper shootings. They also left a trail of two shooting victims at the ABC store in Alabama, allegedly. They tried to use one victims credit card, in relation to the money that they wanted.

I feel like it's just them involved. They 'may' have been sympathetic to the terrorist cause, but are not linked with Al Queda. Thats what the news is saying so far.

I think they have just been charged with murder and the federal gun violation. It all sounds positive.

I've got a bad feeling about this

This went down way too easy. I don't think these men are the snipers. I do believe they "work" with the sniper but I don't think they are the ones doing the actual shooting.

The sniper has been so careful to not get caught, I doubt he would be so sloppy as to be traced this easily.

Plus the quote that chief Moose had to read on the air last night about catching the sniper like a duck in a noose. There is an old fable about a rabbit (I think) sneaking up on a duck to catch him, putting a noose around his neck, only to have the duck fly away and the rabbit lose him.

I would hate to think this is a group of people. I don't think it's AlQueada (sp?) particularly but maybe a group of people that sympathize with them? Maybe the role of these two people were to be sacrificed to lull the public into a false sense of security? I don't know. Hope I'm wrong and this is coming to a relatively easy ending.

I pray to god that it is over .... I wonder though if it is them...if the 17 year old might be charged as a juvenile because he is under 18.

Also a word of advice...stay off of AOL'S message board....It is very racist with the N word being used freely and there is also a lot of talk about lynchings...it is awful on there.

I think that's why they tried so hard to say these men were not the suspects they were looking for. They wanted to keep innocent people alive while they catch the right men.

I do hope these are the right ones.

I really hope that these are the guys . . .Would be nice to finally have them and end this nightmare!

Also, I'm hoping they have them because Halloween is just around the corner and I'm sure the kids are looking forward to their annual trick or treating.

(Rockville-AP) -- A law enforcement source close to the sniper investigation tells The Associated Press they are confident the two men arrested this morning at a Frederick County rest stop are the people sought in the killings.

The source says quote -- "the evidence is all there and because of things we've received in the communications, it fits together with evidence they've collected in the last couple days." end quote. The source spoke to the A-P on the condition of anonymity.

Police have not released the names of the two men taken into
custody this morning, however, broadcast reports say sources have identified them as 42-year-old John Allen Muhammad and 17-year-old John Lee Malvo. Police issued an arrest warrant for Muhammad last night on unrelated charges and have not publicly called the two suspects in the sniper slayings.

Sources say the two are being questioned now at an undisclosed location and that charges could officially be filed later today.
