You were right Ash...this IS a cute lil TRIP REPORT!! Very!!
ITA about CG. Honestly. If it were not for the CIF's I don't think it would be on my list of must do's
I am with He. I love me some Disney Buffets. But I digress. Ohana is family style and it is yummolicious. (dinner)
Can't wait for more!!
A real live CIF? Wow! And we write a cute trip report!
Happiness! We did Ohana but it was for breakfast so I don't think that really counts plus we had a major screw up there.... Ya you will have to wait to read about that.One of my CIF's sent me over here and I'm lovin' it!
AND - we were there from March 30 - April 6th too!!!!
I wonder if our paths crossed? I was the one carrying the red backpack
He - sounds just like my DH. DH felt the same about Cali. But DH would never write a TR with me. I don't even know if he knows what a TR is.
I felt the same as She about Cali. Our kids liked it - but they are a little bit older than Cat. 8 and 11 at the time.

First off Kronk is my favorite Disney Character! Ever. There is not enough Kronk stuff. It makes me all sad.
Where did you guys stay? And did you have on your LGMH? I swear I knew of a ton of Dis-ers going down and only ran into two. People need to be decked head to toe in Lime Green so I can akwardly say hello.
HE said he wouldn't write one but after the trip he said I was gonna screw it up and he wouldn't have that!

Yup all started! I have been reading your PTR still. I am so bad about commenting I totally meant to tell you that I am insanely jealous of your luggage tags. They are cooler than mine and that does not make for a happy Becca. LOL
Oh and since you are from the PTR I can finally add on something I have been wanting to say and that is that Miss Cat's dance team just came in 3rd at State! Woohoo Nationals here we come!

The Sounds of Splash
She Said- So when we last left you we were all sound asleep (it was until midnight but still). And I had the day before arranged for a cab to pick us up at 7:30. The phone rang at 6:30 but we only had music (we only had music the whole trip. I guess you are supposed to say Hello to get Mickey and Stitch. Seriously why didnt anyone tell me this?) I got up first and forced He out of bed to the sounds of Disneys Top Ten List blaring on the T.V. Seriously that girl gets very annoying very quickly.
He Said That Disney lady on tv was such a spaz! I thought She was bad
She Said- Last up was The Cat but I was in full ready mode, having her outfit (hair bows and all) picked out. It was a cute set with Alice on the front and since she was wearing her hair in pigtails I decided to match. I know pigtails are reserved for cute girls under 14 but I was at Disney and I figured that made me kid enough!
By 7:20 we were in the front of Pop and our cab was already there! Yea! We all piled in the backseat and the cab driver was very friendly. At 7:35 we were at the Grand Floridian and Matt forked over a twenty to cover the fare and tip. He thought it far too expensive and so it was the last of our cab adventures.
He Said Take how I felt about the California grill, and apply that to this situation liberally. I had never taken a ride in a cab, and if I can avoid it, I never will again. Holy freaking crap!
She Said- We headed to 1900 Park Fare. Side Note: The whole trip I kept calling it 900 Park Fare and was constantly corrected. I knew it was 1900 but my stupid mouth refused to say it! Darn it!
He Said Im not sure why she kept saying 900. Not that restaurants name made a ton of sense, but she just couldnt get past this very strange speech impediment.
She Said- Well the doors were closed and there were a few families (two) waiting in the cushy looking lounge chairs. We thought for a moment about joining them but decided against it. I had been on Dis long enough that occasionally good things happen if you are first. Well nothing magical happened but by 8:00 there was quite a long line behind us. We totally started a trend or something.
We are allowed in and sign in and we are taken straight to our table- the bestest table ever! #63 (yes I peeked to see the number- seriously that table rocked!) Why did our table rock so hard? Because it was caddy corner to the buffet and the very first table the characters visited! Yup, no waiting until they made the rounds. We were hit first!
We quickly loaded up on the good stuff. I quickly got The Cat settled with her cereal and fruit (if we hadnt been on the dining plan I might have fainted about the price we were paying for her to eat cereal and fruit). Then I headed to the omelet station. No wait. Everyone else was still trickling in. This was a good enough reason to get up early.
He Said This was trip 1 out of 2 to 1900 Park Fare. I really liked this place. Tons of yummy food, really good service, and being first to see the characters was awesome.
She Said- We start munching away when who should appear but the lovable old bear himself, Pooh! The Cat made sure to tell him that her brother loves him. Then his bouncy friend appeared, Tigger! When Tigger was taking pictures a little boy ran up and I thought Oh here we go. According to the Dis this happens almost all the time, kids not waiting, parents allowing it, all that. Well I dont think the parents realized (the kid was heading to the buffet) but Tigger was not having it. He pointed to the direction the boy came from and that was that. Tigger is a bad ***.
Then Mary Poppins appeared. Now I love Mary Poppins. This Mary was right down to business, signing Cats book and marveling at all the work. Actually this happened at lot, it was the total reaction I wanted. She wrote down her favorite word and then proceeded to say it backwards without any prompting. Once she finished she told The Cat to practice spelling it and The Cat said she would (Liar.)
Finally the best two, the whole reason I booked the meal, Alice and the Mad Hatter. They came out together and the Mad Hatter was hilarious. He and I were cracking up. Yes he is loud but I dont get all the buzz on Dis about him being scary. He was fantastic! They both commented on The Cats outfit (kudos to me!). The only problem was that He had now developed a big crush on cute lil British Alice. She is very pretty so I guess I cant say much.
He Said Ladies, hold on to your man. That Alice was something else. She didnt look anywhere close to 9-13 years old. I may have had a staring problem.
She Said- By some sort of miracle we were out the door and through the Magic Kingdom gates just before the rope drop at 9:00. Yea! We watched the tail end of the rope drop ceremony and we were off with one goal in mind: Splash Mountain. We hauled it, The Cat was great about keeping up, I even had to make her stop and Look at the Castle. Then we cut through Adventure land and ran straight to Splash. Second boat of the day!
He Said Sometimes magic is nice and wonderful. It brings flowers and singing birds and cupcakes and sunshine and stuff that makes me barfy. Magic can also be used for not-so-happy stuff. In this case, we were hit with the creepy type of magic. Put simply, we endured a completely silent ride on Splash Mountain. Obviously, not everything had been set up yet. We boarded the second car, and we were all excited about falls and splashes and such. Next thing you know, were floating by the woodland scenery in complete silence. Then, strange mechanical noises. The animatronics were still going. Animatronics are downright spooky without sound. Its just a repetitive whizz and whir of metal and plastic moving about awkwardly. At first we were amused, but after several drops and more scenery, we were ready to get out of there. Cat was already freaking out over the drops. We had to sing Zippadeedoah to try and cover for the unsettling experience. Completely weirded out, we left Splash Mountain, snatched up fastpasses for Big Thunder, and tried to shake off an oncoming phobia of robotic animals and people. By the way, Its a Small World horrified me, but enough for now!
On the next webisode of Mister Pig, Minnie has a Plumbing Problem!

Another great chapter, guys! I agree that Stacey is annoying. In fact, on our last visit (just a couple of weeks ago) I don't think we watched her at all, other than catching snippets while channel surfing.
I have heard fabulous things about 1900 Park Fare. My sister's family was there last week (for dinner) and got ALL kinds of magic. (Including the kids being ushered to their seats by Cinderella and Prince Charming!!!) Looks like you had a great time. And no matter what HE says, you totally made the right decision taking a cab. It would've taken you three times longer by bus, foot, and monorail.....

Really? Stacey sure goes on and on and on for there being only seven. It got to the opint that when I clicked on the TV I would immediatly hit the mute button because I knew what was to befall us. I started to think that someone had used all the good coffee at Disney to keep her so peppy, its the only logical reason for such bad coffee and a spastic girl. -Becca-

We stayed off site
But it was OK - We were at Downtown Disney - Buena Vista Palace. With a great view of Epcot and MK - double fireworks on the balcony each night!
And we had Stacey on the TV there too. All Stacey all the time!

I think it might have some music. I know the one at DL has it for sure. By the way going to DL too much as a child ruined some rides for me at WDW. Pirates, Space, and the Haunted Mansion being the big three. I just liked them so much more at DL.

We all got wet! And not even from the drop but from going in that circle in front of the drop when a boat goes down. We hoped we would miss it but no. Oh well. We dried.

She...very nice! I can imagine how freaky Splash is WITHOUT music, heck, its freaky enough WITH music when you really stop and think about it!!
He! ITA can you even IMAGINE IASW without the SONG??? (oh wait....people might actually enjoy it....) p.s. I tend to love IASW.
We also love 900 PF. (see thats the thing with freaky CIF's...we make mistakes and keep refering to them as correct even though we know we are totally wrong!! Welcome to the club!!) Example: Lala and her family call Epcot Epicot. And we all know what she means when she says it...and we say it too!! FUN STUFF eh??

EEP! Somehow I missed this comment. So sorry! Epicot! LOL. I like it!
It was very creepy. Your normally can't hear the noise from the figures but without the music all you hear is motors and metal. By the end I was singing Zip Dee Doo Dah and the top of my lungs (and I am NO singer!) just to drown out the sound. I wanted to take Cat back on it with the Music but between the creepy factor and the drops she was not having it. Of course the music started the SECOND we got to the platform to unload!
Grumble. Grumble.And top 7 is way strange. Its top 10, or 5, or 25 or some multiple of 5. Having a top 7 is like having a top 8. It just means you were too lazy (or out of ideas) to get to ten.

Minnie Has A Plumbing Problem
He Said – As I said at the end of the last webisode, we is smart people. Maybe I didn’t say that particular phrase, but grabbing fast passes to Big Thunder was a smart move. It was time to ride some carpet! Not that exciting, really. We rode with Aladdin and friends 3 freaking times. For whatever reason, The Cat could not get enough of this crap (she doubled that ride count on Triceratopspin or whatever it’s called). Luckily, there was no wait, same with Jungle Cruise! We jumped right onto our dinghy and were sputtering towards slow speed adventure and puns galore. We had a pleasant tour guide, and the ride was rather comical, I admit. After the jungle cruise The Cat was getting grumpy and She went to get Fastpasses for Peter Pan.
She Said – Funnel Cake! …Funnel Cake! Make sure you get funnel cake! Best use of snack credits, ever. We stopped at a snack shop in the Liberty area and waited for the Industrial Revolution to come and pass before we got our funnel cake. Still, well worth the 200 year wait. I went to grab the fastpasses and he had to sit with a grumpy The Cat, and they got the side view of that Mickey show in front of Castle.
He Said – What a spoiler! Maleficient doesn’t disappear in that smoke! She simply walks away backstage! My magic is ruined! I’m rather certain The Cat had no idea what was going on since we caught the tail end of the show. More amusing were these little birds that seemed to live on funnel cake. They were completely comfortable with taking crumbs off the table we were sitting at. I probably shouldn’t have fed that obviously growing problem.
She came back (finally), and it was time for BTMR. Oh no! Acronyms!
She Said – I totally turned him into a Disboarder. I had to calm him down when he realized he was being sucked into a ‘bottomless pit.’
He Said – A bottomless pit! We’ve been back for nearly a month and she’s on Disboards every day! ***?
Anyway, at some point we had decided that The Cat didn’t have to ride Big Thunder. That was mostly due to how scared she was after Splash Mountain. Unfortunately for The Cat, we totally reneged that call. See how promising can ruin things? We made no promises. We are awful. We ill prepared The Cat for Big Thunder. After several lies about how the ride wasn’t scary and was slower than Splash Mountain, she gave little trouble through the lines. We may have used a bribe or two. Actually, a pretty big bribe in the form of a $13 Enchanted trading pin. She may have doubts, but I think it was totally worth it. Nothing quenches my dark side more than crying children.
She Said – The Cat was relatively good in line, and the fastpasses gave her little time to think about her doom. Still, she absolutely screamed her head off on the ride and shook a good bit afterwards. Somehow I doubt she’ll be a coaster addict, and this saddens me more than you ever know.
He Said – I beg to differ. I wasn’t a coaster fanatic until I was at least 12 years old. Takes a while to realize you’re more likely to fall down the stairs outside of your house than to get hurt on a coaster.
Fortunately, The Cat had plenty of time to recover, for we were off to see Mickey’s Philharmagic! What a nice attraction, we all had a wonderful time. The 3-D effects are friendly for kids and adults, and it is one of the best attractions available for all audiences. Disney really has it out for Donald Duck. Poor guy gets blasted of a cannon.
Now then, off to Peter Pan! It was nice and air conditioned and child friendly. What wasn’t child friendly was the 90 minute standby line.
She Said – What are people thinking? Waiting 90 minutes for a 90 second ride? Luckily we had our handy dandy Fastpasses!
He Said – The Cat must have been quite tired. Grumpy again. Ice cream to the rescue! Other than funnel cake, ice cream is a great use of snack credits. Who could resist the magical flavors of Mickey’s head covered with chocolate, or Mickey’s head ice cream sandwich? My personal favorite was the orange ice pop. Too bad it was kind of rare. We were happily munching on our ice creams as we strolled through Toontown. We unhappily munched on our ice cream when we saw the line of people trying to get inside Minnie’s “Mansion.” She said that we HAD to see it, explaining to me for the 4000th time that it was going to be closed from the next day forward for renovations.
She Said – Not my fault Disney scheduled their stupid refurbs when they did. It wasn’t even 11:30, and I wasn’t expecting it to be that crowded. (Stupid morning people)
He Said – I was looking for a robed man performing miracles. Crowds don’t gather like that over just anything. Generally there’s bread and fish at these events.
She Said – As we drew closer, it became clear why Minnie’s house needed some work. It wasn’t to paint the walls, or redo the trim, or to plant some more plastic flowers. Nope. The problem was obvious to anyone with a nose. Minnie was having plumbing issues.
He Said – I wanted to jump on the next Barnstorming plane out of there. It didn’t take a sniffer like Goofy’s to realize something (or someone) number two’d in her fireplace. Perhaps Donald was still holding a grudge about that whole cannon thing. Anyway, it smelled awful in there. I’m not sure how all those people could just stand there in line, then it hit me. It was love. You see, children have broken noses. All of them. To them, something smells bad but for a moment, and then it’s gone. That’s why they are all so stinky. The parents in line were standing there out of love for their broken-nosed (and to quote Bill Cosby, “brain damaged”) children. We don’t love The Cat that much. Don’t judge, you would totally understand if you had but a whiff. We snapped a few quick pictures in the living room, and when we couldn’t hold our breath anymore, we left. To further continue our escape, we took the next train out of there.
She Said – Trains are great! Trains equal less walking. Less walking equals less whiny kids. Less whiny kids equals less publicly beaten children. The best part is that we left at noon. On our way out, we watched hundreds of lazy bums shuffle into the park, and we knew their fate. Whiny children and two hour waits. And maybe working sound on Splash Mountain.
He Said – We headed back to the hotel for much needed rest. After a wonderful recharge (they napped, I didn’t), we got dressed around 3, and by 3:30 we were on a bus back to MK. Apparently, getting dressed also means donning a Giselle tiara. Eww. We boarded a launch over to Ft. Wilderness. It was a very nice boat ride, very relaxing. We had heard good things about our next meal. In fact, it was a meal and a show. That’s right - we were heading to the awesome Hoop Dee Do Review.
She Said – The Cat didn’t much care about the wonderful Disboard Reviews. She didn’t care about how hard the tickets were to acquire. She didn’t care about much of anything because I woke her up from her nap. And that’s how we got glamour shots like these!
He Said – Hoop Dee Do totally rocked. The food was great, and entertainment was extremely amusing (not to mention exceptionally talented) and nothing beats a day at a loud theme park like the sound of three hundred washboards being rapped simultaneously.
She Said- Thought I would throw this picture in here though it is from the end of the show. Look how much happier she is!
He Said - The waiter was very nice. He brought our picky The Cat a grilled cheese and fries, and kept us refilled enough to hit 15/75 orange sodas consumed. She decided to have Sangria. She liked it, I thought it was nasty. She has no taste. She also didn’t care for the ribs, which were both delicious and never-ending. I ate like a pig! (Pumbaa, you are a pig.)
She Said – The chicken was good, the mashed potatoes were great, and the shortcake was to die for. Also, I thought I’d let you all know we had tier 3 seats. They were on the ground floor, about three quarters of the way back. That being said, our seats were great. The CM said there were no bad seats there, and she was absolutely right. Only bad part: the song sticks in your head. Like really sticks. Like I am still currently humming it!
He Said – I give the Hoop Dee Do review two sauce-covered thumbs up. I would definitely go again, and I highly suggest you bear the money for it! (Insert laugh here)
We hopped another launch to MK, and then the monorail to Epcot to watch Illuminations. I noticed that She was starting to transform into a monster. Big white itchy bumps, groaning, and a red tint gave her a frightening appearance.
She Said – I’m allergic to peanuts. I warned the ADR CM that I was deathly allergic to peanuts. Not one person at any restaurant asked about my allergies, and I didn’t think to ask about the ingredients in the food, I really didn’t want to be a pain and though since it was supposed to be noted that I was covered. Yeah I was covered all right- covered in hives. I was having an allergic reaction on the monorail, and reactions are an absolute misery to endure. Upon entering Epcot I made a bee line for the bathroom- the second sign of a reaction, there I was able to view my food twice. Lucky me. Happily I had in my bag a bunch of Benadryl which I downed as soon as my stomach would allow.
He Said – Out of curiosity, when did the Beach Boys become the official music of Epcot? God only knows I could have lived without it. Anyway, we waited three hours for her to get out of the bathroom. Maybe it was thirty minutes, but it felt like three hours with The Cat unknowingly imitating Mick Jagger’s dance moves. I wish I had been dancing in the highway. After She had recovered substantially from her hives (less blotchy), we found a photopass guy who snapped these wonderful photos!
He Said - We headed off to the World Showcase to nab a spot for Illuminations. Turns out, we didn’t go into the showcase at all. We grabbed a great spot that was on a slight incline, facing the lagoon.
She Said – These were excellent seats. In my bag I had brought The Cat’s glow toys and she happily wore down the batteries in them for about 45 minutes. Illuminations was a beautiful, moving show. All around a great end to the evening.
He Said – Guys like explosions and giant balls of fire. This show had both! We were several hundred feet away from the fiery platform and still felt quite a heat wave coming from it. I was impressed.
Just as Illuminations ended, we joined a massive crowd that was obviously running from bulls or something. We just barely squeezed onto a packed bus back to Pop and crashed the moment we hit our rooms.

He Said – As I said at the end of the last webisode, we is smart people. Maybe I didn’t say that particular phrase, but grabbing fast passes to Big Thunder was a smart move. It was time to ride some carpet! Not that exciting, really. We rode with Aladdin and friends 3 freaking times. For whatever reason, The Cat could not get enough of this crap (she doubled that ride count on Triceratopspin or whatever it’s called). Luckily, there was no wait, same with Jungle Cruise! We jumped right onto our dinghy and were sputtering towards slow speed adventure and puns galore. We had a pleasant tour guide, and the ride was rather comical, I admit. After the jungle cruise The Cat was getting grumpy and She went to get Fastpasses for Peter Pan.
She Said – Funnel Cake! …Funnel Cake! Make sure you get funnel cake! Best use of snack credits, ever. We stopped at a snack shop in the Liberty area and waited for the Industrial Revolution to come and pass before we got our funnel cake. Still, well worth the 200 year wait. I went to grab the fastpasses and he had to sit with a grumpy The Cat, and they got the side view of that Mickey show in front of Castle.
He Said – What a spoiler! Maleficient doesn’t disappear in that smoke! She simply walks away backstage! My magic is ruined! I’m rather certain The Cat had no idea what was going on since we caught the tail end of the show. More amusing were these little birds that seemed to live on funnel cake. They were completely comfortable with taking crumbs off the table we were sitting at. I probably shouldn’t have fed that obviously growing problem.
She came back (finally), and it was time for BTMR. Oh no! Acronyms!
She Said – I totally turned him into a Disboarder. I had to calm him down when he realized he was being sucked into a ‘bottomless pit.’
He Said – A bottomless pit! We’ve been back for nearly a month and she’s on Disboards every day! ***?
Anyway, at some point we had decided that The Cat didn’t have to ride Big Thunder. That was mostly due to how scared she was after Splash Mountain. Unfortunately for The Cat, we totally reneged that call. See how promising can ruin things? We made no promises. We are awful. We ill prepared The Cat for Big Thunder. After several lies about how the ride wasn’t scary and was slower than Splash Mountain, she gave little trouble through the lines. We may have used a bribe or two. Actually, a pretty big bribe in the form of a $13 Enchanted trading pin. She may have doubts, but I think it was totally worth it. Nothing quenches my dark side more than crying children.
She Said – The Cat was relatively good in line, and the fastpasses gave her little time to think about her doom. Still, she absolutely screamed her head off on the ride and shook a good bit afterwards. Somehow I doubt she’ll be a coaster addict, and this saddens me more than you ever know.
He Said – I beg to differ. I wasn’t a coaster fanatic until I was at least 12 years old. Takes a while to realize you’re more likely to fall down the stairs outside of your house than to get hurt on a coaster.
Fortunately, The Cat had plenty of time to recover, for we were off to see Mickey’s Philharmagic! What a nice attraction, we all had a wonderful time. Another wonderful and entaining webisode.... As many times as my DW and I have been to WDW, we have never made it to HDR. Sounds like we'll have to schedule a visit during either our Dec 08 or May 09 trip.
Sorry to hear about the allergic reaction. I'm sure you had breath mints along with the Benadryl in your bag, based on the pic of you had He kissing.
