Are the parks perfect they way they are and if they change the colour of a trash can it's the end of the world?
Looking back on the changes since I've been paying close attention, I'm actually pretty happy with the speed. I was not excited about Avatarland when it was first proposed, because I've never seen the movie and probably won't ever do so (plus I totally wanted a "beastly kingdom" with dragons and unicorns!), but I seem to have talked myself into thinking it might be cool. After all, most people have never seen
Song of the South, but they still love
Splash Mountain. For that matter, I suspect the most rabid
Tower of Terror fans have never seen an episode of the
Twilight Zone. True of the rabid fans I know, anyhow. I think
Hollywood Studios needs a serious revamp, but that seems to be in the works, and I'm guessing
EPCOT will be next.
I also think it's a good pace for the "casual" re-visitor (people who get back every few years/couple of times a decade), which I would guess is a fair percentage of visitors, and it's a great pace for those who do the "once with parents/once or twice as a single or on honeymoon/once with kids/once with grandkids" thing, which according a DVC salesguy is pretty standard for return visitors. So I'm good.
In the "end of the world" department, my family's still mourning the loss of the MK's rose garden pavilion.

That was our most favorite "place to hang out and review the day while the crowds disperse" in any Disney park -- or anywhere, really -- ever. We'll find somewhere else and be fine, I'm sure, but I also know the conversation will forever include, "remember the rose garden pavilion? Man, I wish they hadn't taken that out."
