We were without electricity from 1:30 am until nearly noon. Our phone doesn't work without electricity, so my DS wasn't able to call home and ask me to pick him up from school because the school was flooded. He spent most of the day in the auditorium, but I did pick him up early when I found out from a neighbor that the school had closed.

We took a quick drive through the center of town to see how flooded it was.... it was severe. The Brandywine river flows right through town and it was flooded over into fields on both sides. The park in town was a lake, as was the little league field.

It's still raining and is supposed to rain all week. Isabel should be here by this weekend.

And our basement has become an indoor swimming pool. :(

Anybody else out there waterlogged? How are you holding up?

We're on the western side of Pa., Laura, and it has rained ALL day here! We have had so much rain all spring/summer long, that the creeks have blown so many times I have lost track. The water levels were still high from last week's storms.

I was watching the news and saw all of the flooding up there. Right away I thought of you. Hope you dry out soon. We're starting to make a few plans ourselves. I hope Isabel changes her mind but it looks like we'll get something.

Yep... I'm in Montgomery County and our power went out sometime after 11:00 until 2:30am this morning. It looks like it will be a bad week!!!! DH works for the township so I'm sure he will be on call for downed trees :o . Oh well... more $$$ for our December Disney trip!!!

Laura, I assume you're in Downingtown, from what you're saying about the Brandywine. I've seen past storms, and indeed Kerr Park looks like a lake.:bounce: I shudder to think what this hurricane will do around here....I recall Floyd 4 years ago and it was a doozy. By the way, I live on a hill north of town.

Laura, I live not too far south of you in Maryland. I have heard about your flooding and we are in a flood watch here because your rain feeds our creeks. It has been pouring today.

Can't wait until Isabel when we get some real rain.

I may change my name to moldy_carol.

We're right in between all this rain. We had a sprinkle for about a half hour this morning and that was it.

I don't think it's going to last though. I just looked at the radar and I'll bet that within three hours, we'll be getting something.

I'd better go check out the latest on the HERricane.

Howdy, neighbor! Yep, I'm talking about D'town. We're actually in Guthriesville, but my kids go to the sr. high and middle schools on Rock Raymond Rd. (My parents used to live up Rock Raymond Rd. until 2 months ago.) The sr. high just opened up this year after a few years of renovation and it got flooded out. DS said the parking lot was a lake this morning and several classrooms were flooded.

There are a few flood pix on KYW's site... http://www2.kyw1060.com/news_story_detail.cfm?newsitemid=32066

Oh hang in there!! We have been through a major flood a few years ago and it is awful......I know what you are going through.

We are in the center of the state, close to Beast, and only had a shower around noon. I heard that some parts received over 7 inches of rain!

Keep us posted!!!!

Hi fellow PA people. I live on the Main Line. It isn't supposed to rain for the next two days so you should dry out. We only lost power for an hour tonight so I can't complain. We sure have gotten a lot of rain here huh? Hopefully we won't get the equivalent in snow!
