We were without electricity from 1:30 am until nearly noon. Our phone doesn't work without electricity, so my DS wasn't able to call home and ask me to pick him up from school because the school was flooded. He spent most of the day in the auditorium, but I did pick him up early when I found out from a neighbor that the school had closed.
We took a quick drive through the center of town to see how flooded it was.... it was severe. The Brandywine river flows right through town and it was flooded over into fields on both sides. The park in town was a lake, as was the little league field.
It's still raining and is supposed to rain all week. Isabel should be here by this weekend.
And our basement has become an indoor swimming pool.
Anybody else out there waterlogged? How are you holding up?

. Oh well... more $$$ for our December Disney trip!!!
I shudder to think what this hurricane will do around here....I recall Floyd 4 years ago and it was a doozy. By the way, I live on a hill north of town.
