Yes. It's true. And I'm not gonna lie. New Moon is my least favorite book in the saga because of that. :sad1: It's still good, and it's a vital part of building the whole story... but I found myself skimming the pages before I would read them to see if Edwards name was there. And then I would *sigh* and then read and do it to the next page.

He is only in the about 1/4 of the whole book. :guilty:

But, I also have to say that you still have to read it if you are going to read all 4. And sometimes New Moon makes people switch over to 'Team Jacob' so we'll see what you think afterward. :goodvibes

And No - I haven't read any of the Janet Evanovich books. I hear from everyone that they are really good! Maybe I'll pick them up. :goodvibes I think I was just nervous about them because my Gram was the 1st one to tell me how funny they were and I was like 'Yeah, OK Gram'

:rotfl:

Afternoon, kiddos!

Rf- I love your TR!!!! Maybe you could switch the title and see if that gets people more interested? I think a lot of times people read other peoples TR's if they know the writer- and that's how it gets so long.

Shelly--- :rotfl2: I'm one of the TMI writers, I know. :goodvibes I am such a detail oriented person. I'm the type person that could meet someone on the street, talk to them for two minutes, not see them again for five years and still tell someone the color of that person's eyes. :confused3 Plus- I have the whole writer-thingy going on inside of my head so that doubles my problem. Therefore- if it pertains to my thoughts or trip, it's goin into the TR.:rotfl:

HI KB! Oh your poor baby so long ago looking for the bus.:guilty: I'm glad he outgrew it. Sounds like it didn't scar him any, LOL. Hope things with your Mom calm down a bit and you get her straight as can be.

:laughing:Trix......:cheer2: Tebow! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 I showed Mark that pic and he said "I don't like that- he looks like a Chippendale dancer.":rotfl: um, Chippendale dancers can only wish.

Hi Sea!! I loved the lady with the shower cap on!!!!!!! That is so dang funny! Glad you guys are doing okay out there.

Drew did much better yesterday-- the busses weren't bad as the day before. He'll get into it- it just takes him forever. Thanks everyone for asking about him.

I've been out shopping today- we're having friends over for dinner tomorrow night.

NC--- why oh why did you have to share your migraine with me? Excedrin and coke- my two best friends all day long.:headache:
I love ya honey, but please- let's us MAYers not share EVERYTHING.:snooty:(Hope your headache is better today.)

Okay- gotta get the kids.

Later peeps! Have a great weekend!

Jo

PS......

I LOOOOOVE Jacob!:lovestruc New Moon was my fave in the series.:rolleyes1

Wow! I jumped on here and thought I was on Oprah's book club. You guys are so intellectual in a cool pop culture sort of way. I have the hardest time reading books, I think I have book ADHD. In fact, maybe I just have ADHD!

Jo - I am so sorry. I didn't know the headache was contagious. Drug up! Today is the first day I have woke up without my head pound and thinking I needed IV drugs as I didn't want to raise my head up out of bed to swallow the pills I laid on the night stand the night before. I think it has been this stinking weather and front that came thru the state.

I hope Drew's bus anxiety gets better. My Chris gets anxious if I am late to pick him up. Once when he was 4, I was in a bad car accident and I was late to pick him up. So he had waited, then my mom picked him and brought him to the scene of the accident with the police cars, fire engines, etc. So he ALWAYS freaks out if I am late. In fact, one of the reasons we got him a cell phone in either 6th or 7th grade was so I could call or text him. In fact, Thursday, Chloe had drums until 4:30 and Chris had football until 4:30, well traffic at that time of day is terrible. So I sent him a text before leaving drums, that I would be late. Well, at 4:45 he was calling me. Where are you? Are you OK? You should be here by now? :sad2:

Well, today is Sunday School teacher training and tomorrow is promotion day.

Have a great weekend MAYers!!!

Happy Saturday MAYers! :goodvibes

What a beautiful day we are having here today! And I mean that this time!! Right now it is sunny skies and about 65 degrees and LOW humidity. Supposed to be around 75 when all is said and done! :cool1:

Nothing much going on here. The kids are watching Saturday morning cartoons. DH is at work. And we are anxiously awaiting the mail lady to get here with the kids teacher assignments. Then the phone will start ringing!

Well JO maybe I can get you to write my PTR! :rotfl: I just can't imagine that anyone is interested in the minor details of my life! :confused3 Except for the MAYers of course. Well even if you guys aren't interested you always get to hear them!

Off to check airfare! :wizard:

Have a great weekend!

Shelly - Has the mail arrived? Is your phone ringing? Did the kids get the teacher they wanted?

The mail lady drove right by our house!

The phone started ringing a little bit later but we had no news. I'm guessing someone messed up our change of address and it went to the old house and will be forwarded here sometime next week. :sad2: But I will be calling the school first thing Monday morning to get things straightened out!

Stupid mail, stupid address changes. That stinks!

I hope your boys aren't too disappointed.

I don't know if I ever told everyone this or not, but we've decided to change the girls from their tiny private school to one of our public elementary schools.

The girls got their teacher letters on Saturday. We knew who DD9 was going to have based on our conversations with the principal (she thought DD9 would do better with one teacher due to DD9's anxiety issues) and DD7 got the teacher we didn't meet on one of our visits. She was really happy! I would have been fine with either choice, but something must have felt strange to DD7. :confused3

Our poor neighbor girl (who goes to a different elementary school~long story) was standing at her mailbox waiting for the mailman (he really is a man, I'm not being politically incorrect ;) ) to bring her letter after she saw that the girls got theirs...she was SO hoping to get a certain teacher...and she didn't. I forgot how big of a deal that whole teacher thing was because at our private school, there was only one teacher per grade!

My MIL has been VERY against us taking the girls out of the private school (she is a member at the church that sponsors the school) and I finally told her last night that we were going to the public school. She was not happy. At all. It was not pretty. But my FIL stuck up for me. :cheer2: She didn't know how to handle that! :upsidedow

Our plan was for DH to tell her, but of course, he was fishing yesterday and wasn't there when she asked. :headache:

I'm sure she's not done with me yet.

Morning!

Oh wow-- all the teachers letters. Shelly- I hope your boys get theirs today. That's so hard- waiting and waiting. I'm really surprised they don't post them online. That's how they do it here. Not names (for security reasons) but their school id # that you use for checking homework and grades during the year.

Trix,,, whoops. :headache: Your MIL-- was she really nasty? That's really too bad- it seems like she would want to support your decisions concerning the kids. My Mom is one of those Grandma's too... she tells me constantly what to do with the kids. It makes me giggle a bit. I always say "Okay" and then do what I want to.:upsidedow

How was everyone's weekend?

I got news.

Well, sort of. I need input from the MAYers.
Pro's and con's of each, please.:flower3:

WDW -- which would you choose, taking all of these things into consideration?

March 6-13th- (Sat- Sat-- the 7th is our Anniversary-:bride:) OR... MAY 1-8th? (Sat-Sat, again)

Keep in mind- of course, we hate crowds-- I hate cold weather-- do really well in hot temps-- the March date is Peak season as far as rates go, May is the regular rate-- but it looks like the difference is only about $400, I think.
Looking at staying either Poly, WL, or garden wing Contemp (my least fave idea) OR go cheap and stay at POFQ, which we love.

So-- with all of those factors-- what would you do?

oh yeah- we're doing Deluxe Dining plan too.

I'm completely on the fence with this one, don't know which to choose.:confused3

Thanks.

Jo

Okay- to confuse everyone a bit further... 'cause that's just how I roll...:)---
now I'm looking into the last week in April-- April 26- May 2. Easter is early April next year- and then the prices for resorts drop from peak to regular pricing after that.

Huuuuuum. I'm thinking I like the idea of late April....

Thoughts?

Sulley? Where are you? You're my Professional "Which week to choose" coach. :)

Jo

Heeey Jo!

I have no idea about weeks. :confused3 I'd say go when it's the least crowded.

Here is my favorite part of the Tebow article...paraphrasing, of course...

Tim Tebow is so well liked, he can get breakfast at McDonald's after 10:30 a.m.

:lmao:

If he can, I'm gonna hang around with him!

I  egg mc muffins!!!

Good morning MAYers!

It was a beautiful weekend here! RF - thanks for chewing Mother Nature out the other day because I sure am enjoying these beautiful pleasant sunny low humidity days!!!! :goodvibes

DH and the boys went fishing yesterday morning and I went to church all by myself. That was a new experience! I don't get to go too many places alone! :rotfl: Then we worked on the yard/landscaping and the finished up the kids sandbox we started building weeks ago. So all in all a very productive day!

I called the school this morning and got the scoop. Here they had changed our address - well the street address, but we actually have a different city in our address now (even though we only went 7 miles and are in the same school district :confused3), so that was the problem. They didn't change the city! Anyway, got their teacher's. I am pleased with DS7's assignment. Although this will be our first experience with a male teacher. I have worked with him in the past at the school and he seems really great. I don't know much about DS10's teacher. I actually just met her a couple of weeks ago because she is on the soccer board with me. I hadn't even heard of her before. She seems nice enough, I just know nothing about her teaching style. . . Neither of the boys have found anyone in their class yet. But they really haven't gotten ahold of too many friends yet.

Trixie - OMG!! :scared1: Well you knew this was coming with your MIL. It's just too bad your DH wasn't there for back-up. :sad2: Doesn't she know of all the issues you had at the other school? Or she just has a one-track mind and just doesn't care? I'm glad your FIL stuck up for you! Just remember that you know that you are doing what you think is best for your kids and it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks.

JO - Hmm. . . that's a tough one! Are the kids going? It would be fun to go on your anniversary, but I don't know about those March crowds. The cons to MAY, well that heat/humidity in MAY 2008, but that doesn't seem to bother you. Plus you would be going early early MAY, so maybe it wouldn't be 95 stinking degrees everyday. But you never know. . . I think March weather would be perfect. But again, the crowds! I don't know!! I suppose it's too early to see which one would have better airfare deals. . . maybe you could wait on that. . . As for the hotel - I agree, the CT would be my last choice of those. Unless you could get BLT - nice and new. :cloud9: IMHO - you should go in NOVEMBER!!! :rotfl:

Okay, so what exactly do you think would be the difference between the last week of April and the first week of May?

April more crowded, not as hot
May less crowded, hotter

:confused3

Thanks Shelly.

I think some brainwashing goes on at that church/school to make everyone think you're terrible if you don't go to Christian school. Which is silly, really, because most of the kids in the church DON'T go to that school!

That's part of the reason we need to get out. I don't want my kids growing up thinking that they're better than anyone else!

POFQ - First week of May.

Okay, so what exactly do you think would be the difference between the last week of April and the first week of May?

April more crowded, not as hot
May less crowded, hotter

:confused3

The year we went in toward the end of April, it was Spring Break in the Northeast. It was the largest crowds we have ever experienced and we went during our Arkansas Spring Break this year.

Trixie - Does your MIL's name start with a K?

I think we might be related.

:rolleyes1

Well everyone, I finished New Moon last night. Team Jacob? Team Edward? Whatever did I decide???

Team Edward all the way baby!

:lmao: Shelly- I told you that's how I roll...:lmao:

I hope your boys like their teachers. Anytime my kids have had male teachers they have LOVED them. It's something about a guy teacher --- IDK what it is-- usually their dry humor or something-- that makes the kids adore them. I hope the new teacher your other DS has is a good one. I am always so anxious over new teachers-- how the kids will adapt. And then they seem to do okay.
Drew isn't thrilled with his English teacher- (also homeroom teacher)-- but loves his math and science teacher. Hope you find soem other kids in their classes.
Hey- did your DS make the travelling soccer team? You never told us one way or another?

Trixie-- omg-- there are so many Tebow-isms that I love- but I can't seem to think of any off the top of my head right now. The McD's one is cute.

Okay- i'm thinking the last week of April is looking good for the WDW trip, according to reports from last year. Has anyone seen this? http://www.leaveittogenie.com/crowdreports.html
It's amazing to look at--
I'm thinking March crowds + peak season prices are going to cause me to forget that time frame.
The May week would work out for us but I worry about Mark's work-- that is the worst month for him. He always has his big sales mtg then.
Although April isn't any better, and may in fact, be worse.:confused3

IDK.
The kids won't be going. It will be our Anniversary trip. I *might* (BIG *Might*) see if I can take them myself for a few days in the summer next year. Can't take them out of school anymore for a trip.
It's too bad.
