POFQ - First week of May.

The year we went in toward the end of April, it was Spring Break in the Northeast. It was the largest crowds we have ever experienced and we went during our Arkansas Spring Break this year.

So the end of April was more crowded than March?

Was it as bad as Christmas????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/

I don't know!?! According to all the reports on that website link I posted- the last week of April was amazing?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
First week of May.
Hum.

Trixie- well, you love the blood sucker.:rotfl:

Did you see the movie?
Has anyone else see the trailer for New Moon?

It looks like it is going to be MUCH better than Twilight.

Jo

Wow that's a neat site JO! I read all the threads for the week we are going in November and they all reported LOW crowds, SHORT wait times, and GREAT weather!!!! :cool1::woohoo::cool1::woohoo:

Trixie- well, you love the blood sucker.:rotfl:

I watched the movie this weekend. I thought it was absolutely terrible compared to the book. I said to myself at one point, "I would not understand this movie at all if I hadn't read the book!"

I found myself laughing in a lot of places that were supposed to be very serious. :rotfl2:

And Edward is sooooooo much more beautiful in my head than RPattz will ever be. Although I liked him when they were walking into the prom. :rolleyes1

I saw the trailer for New Moon...I hope it's better than Twilight. I'm not going to see it in the theater, I'll wait for the DVD.

Oh yeah, thank goodness Jacob's hair will be cut in New Moon, because his wig is the worst that I think I've ever seen!!!

Are you Team Jacob, Jo?

:goodvibesyay for low crowds, Shelly!!!!!:goodvibes I love that website! I just found it this weekend, after Mark told me to plan the trip. (LOL---- he bought himself wireless speakers to go outside on the deck and said "Sorry- I know they were expensive- and I said 'That's okay- I'll get you back- I'm going to plan us an anniversary trip to see the mouse' and he said 'That sounds great- go ahead and do it'.) It's all about timing, LOL!!!!

Trixie-- I thought Twilight the movie was horrific-- mostly b/c I thought RPattz is GROSS. He looks NOTHING like in my mind. I think Taylor Lautner is adorable and cute with short hair-- I agree the wig is hideous. And yep- I am Team Jacob. I think they would be good together. :) But you know what? Bella irritates the crap out of me most of the time- I think she's a very immature little brat that needs to be slapped. But that's just me.:rotfl:

Now... when Johnny Depp stars in the movie Dark Shadows... oh my. Captain jack as a Vampire. I can't wait for that.

I call RPattz "Gross Pattinson". Or GroPattz for short! :lmao:

Johnny Depp as a vampire. :faint:

Well at least you know this trip is coming and you have lots of time to plan. Not like the usual last minute WDW trips you guys plan! :scared1::rotfl:

That's funny. And very true. I thought in the movie he looked decent in the Italian restaurant. That was the only time. And they left so many important things out of the movie. It bothered me a lot. I will not go see New Moon for at least the forst month in the theaters. I told MCat she could go with her g'friends. I just can't handle the squeals of delight when each of the guys comes on screen. I just want to hear the dialouge, LOL.

I know, right? I just want to get a week planned and then book it, hoping and praying for a code.:wizard: I think I'm leaning May 1 at this point, but have to clear it with Mark and then, of course, my Mom who will have to be here for it to work.;)

Jo

Look at us on page 200 already!!! :woohoo:

JO - you are officially in charge of starting the new thread! We don't want any confusion next time!! ;)

Hey maybe I'll be in Florida then anyway!! :goodvibes Na, I'm sure we can blow through 50 more pages before then! :rotfl:

 Hey JO, maybe this is your chance for a split stay! It would be so easy since you won't have the kids with you. POLY/POFQ :cloud9: What do you think??? :yay:

Of course I will let you know how the whole split stay thing goes in November! :scared: :rotfl:

Hi guys. Today is craaaazy busy at work and I don't have my computer hooked up at home right now.

We painted the little scrapbook room and I am waiting for my new desk to be assembled before we put it back in so I figured I would pop in and say HI because I probably won't be on tonight.

Shelly - You're welcome. Mother nature just needed a little talking to  And YAAAAY! For 75 days!!!!! :woohoo::yay::banana:

Trix - How did you like New Moon? popcorn:: I can't believe you are going to wait for the DVD! I will be there opening weekend.... And then again in a few weeks so I can hear the dialogue. :rotfl: Eclipse is my FAVORITE book in the series. I like the bickering between Jacob and Edward. They make me laugh.

And I don't think Robert Pattinson is gross - but he wasn't nearly as amazing as I built Edward up in my head.

But really, who would be? I think he looks goooood in the restaurant scene too Jo....and when they're in his bedroom. he looks so shy and cute.

:lovestruc *sigh* I have learned to love him.

Jo - I vote 1st week in May POFQ. :thumbsup2 You like the weather, the crowds are managable - the prices are right. Also, I think that you said that for the price of the Poly - you could literally go to Hawaii  - and I just think you should save WL for Christmas time. :cloud9:

Just my .02 cents. :goodvibes

Hi NC and Sea and Lake when she returns!!

Are you there Mari? It's me Heather :lmao:

I have never been at Christmas, do I don't know. :confused3

Do you remember me telling you everyone there was from NY, NJ, CT, and a few other states that I thought were in New England but I was informed on the DISboard that they were from the Northeast? :confused3

Way more crowded.

Just check to see when their Spring Break is. ;)

I had under estimated the amount of people from the Northeast who vacation at WDW on their Spring Break!

Now that you talk about it I do remember you commenting on the April crowds last year NC.

Just got back from taking the boys to the dentist. :sad2: DS10 needs braces. He is freaking out about it. I am dreading the cost and him freaking out about it. Oh my! :scared1: We sort of knew this was coming, but just never really wanted to give it too much thought until the time came. This may be our last Disney trip for awhile. :guilty:

JO- when I was on the way to the dentist I remembered that DS10 has his first soccer practice tonight. Then I remembered that you asked if he made the team and I so rudely didn't answer you. . . Sorry! But yes, he made the team and we now have to travel to far off lands for soccer games. :sad2: Seriously, Lake Erie. Luckily there are only 4 away games. The worst part is that they are on the same days that DS7 has games and depending on the times I am going to have to miss some of DS7's games. :sad1: I have never missed a thing before. That will be hard to take!

Shelly - I want to encourage you to shop around for your DS's braces. I didn't and wish I had. Our orthodonist is great, I really like him, his kids go to our school. He has a great reputation and does a lot of good teeth.

That being said, I have now found out he probably charges about $1000 more than some other orthodonists in our town who do equally as good work.

Like I said, I like our orthodontist, but...

I like my money too!

So shop around.

Also, I am sure your orthodontist does this too, but ours offers interest free financing. :thumbsup2

Also, after we negotiated DD's Phase II braces price, (and were at our final price, school discount, sibling discount, etc.) I asked if there was a cash discount if I paid for her Phase II braces in cash, and they offered me 7% off. So I wrote a check, to get my discount for that. I actually think the school discount, sibling discount is a bunch of malarchy. I think they find the price they want and then up it, and THEN they discount it.

:confused3

I swear, I felt like I was buying a used car or something.

Shelly- well, congrats to your son!!:cool1: That is awesome- what an accomplishment! That will be so hard for you to miss some of your other sons games--- will you be having to spend the night? Lake Erie????? Wow- so far away.

I'm going to second NC's advice on the orthodontist thing. I see threads constantly people unhappy with their braces and fees. It seems that it has become "the thing" to do- put braces on kids even as yound as 7 yrs old- and more often than not- a lot of times, they have to have them re-done when they get older b/c they were done too early. Also- it is controversial to have the "Phases" done- some say they isn't any benefit to having them put on in phases versus the regular old way that we, as kids, had them done.
Most of the time, phases cost almost double.
Mcat had to have an expander (which is what the ortho's do in phase one tx-) as well as braces. Hers put both on at the same time and is only doing one phase. The whole Tx including spacers, expander, braces, films and retainers afterwards (a lot of Orthos charge extra for retainers) cost just a little over $4000. Insurances vary in what they pay- ours paid $1500.
Anyway- long story short- we have a very well known ortho here that totally gouges patients and keeps them in braces much longer than necessary.
Also- financing -- yep-- we pay $105 a month, no down payment and no interest. They will work with you.
Just shop around. A lot.

NC---- the April crowds scare me.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'm leaning towards May 1st. :rotfl:

RF-- hope your day goes good for the rest of the afternoon! And yep- I was looking at rack rate for the Poly -- $425 plus tax weekday, $445 weekend. --Ahem... we paid MUCH MUCH MUCH less than that-- corporate rate-- at the Grand Wailea in Hawaii. I think with taxes and everything, it was a bit over $300 a night. I can't remember what it was. I'm old. My mind ain't what it used to be, LOL!
ANyway-- I like the monorail as much as the next guy- but I don't think I'll get $1000 worth of riding in to make it worth it. I mean dang---- the view could be a parking lot for crying out crap!!!!!!:scared1: For THAT price!!

Jo

Thanks for all the braces advice guys. :grouphug: This is all new to me. I never had braces. DH never had braces. We know nothing.

DS is 10 as you know. The dentist seems to think that we need to get started now. He had warned me last year and the year before, so I knew it was coming. Plus I can tell just looking at DS that he needs them. He told me about the 2 phases. He said they charge just one price, no matter what he needs, or if he ends up needing one or two phases. But he is pretty sure he needs two. The price - $3500 :scared1:. But I actually think that is less than I have heard others say they have paid. And I went online to see what our insurance pays - $1000. So now we are down to our cost being $2500. Do you think I can do better? :confused3 I'm so confused!! They did mention free financing, but that the like 1/3 up front. I didn't think to ask if there was a discount for cash. . .

We go back Thursday for a full ortho evaluation - free of charge.

Well we can be to Erie in about an hour and a half. I am told that wherever this soccer field is is about 2 hours away - so it must be pretty far out there! Luckily we only go there once! He only has 4 away games. Another is about an hour away. And one is probably 45 minutes away. And the only other one is only 15 minutes away. So it shouldn't be too awful bad. DH is coaching DS7's team this year, so he will have to stay here with him on game day.

I know what you mean about the Poly. Even with the discount in November it would still be $304 a night. Yes, we could have afforded to stay there our last 2 nights instead of OKW, but I just couldn't justify it! Is it really that great??? :confused3 Maybe someday. I am thinking that I will save it for some huge special occasion, that way I will be able to justify it! :rotfl:
