Thanks guys! :goodvibes It's perfect for us now. I am painting my Mickey kitchen Behr's Disney paint in 'Main Street Lights' whenever we start painting again... Other than that. Not sure what to do from there.

Lake - My scrapbook room will probably be bare for a while. :sad2: But once winter hits - I'm sure I'll want to do a lot more in there :thumbsup2

Hmmm, you guys should bring your scrapbooks on Saturday. I would love to see them!
************

Ummm, :scared: no plans on any wee ones yet. I do have some imaginary names picked out though.... :rolleyes1 I do that when I am in a baby mood. :cloud9: So, maybe sometime soon. :wizard:

I think I am just scared. I don't think we can afford kids. I know everyone says that you'll find a way.... But, daycare alone is almost as much money as my mortgage. :scared1:

My scrapbook is rather large and heavy on that particular subject...it may be hard to tote around with me.... I'll think about it. If you were both going to.. it would make me think harder about it. Just let me know.

We went twice in November. The last time (which was last November) it was snowing outside and 84 degrees in the waterpark. Very cool to see!

It is pricey, I agree with that. But you can get good deals, you just have to watch for them. I kind of like that fact that it's pricey because we went to a waterpark in a hotel where you didn't have to stay in the hotel to use the waterpark and the clientele was WAY different. And not different in a good way. :snooty:

I hear what your saying! And I must admit, I admit I do prefer a little high end clientele myself!

We had a great time all three times we went. The girls were pretty little when we went the first time, like 3 and 5 maybe, so we spent most of our time doing the little stuff (which you wouldn't need to do). The next time was with the Girl Scouts (who ranged from 3rd grade to 6th grade). They did all the big stuff. And always wanted me to go with them. I can't tell you how many times I heard "Mrs. [insert last name here], will you come on the big slide with me?" Which is wonderful, and I did everytime I was asked. But that big slide is high, so there are a ton of steps going up to it. I WAS TIRED when we got home. Like unbelievably, couldn't function tired! The third time we went was last November, so the the girls were 6 and 9, and by that time, it was all big stuff all the way. And the big stuff is BIG. Probably not Disney waterpark big, but certainly big enough.

There weren't long lines for things. You did have to wait for the big slides a little because the workers tell you when you can go for safety purposes. But we never waited long and it never bothered us.

Good to know.

I would say that there's not much need to stay for more than one night because you can go to the park the day you arrive and the day you check out (which is what we did). By that second day, you're ready to leave.

At first, I was planning for two night, but at over $500 a night, I think we can splep down to the Emabassy Suites a couple of blocks away for the 2nd night at only $149 a night. It will be roughing it I'm sure, but I think we can handle it.

We were really disappointed in the Quest. Your 14 year old would think it was lame. It was also very expensive! I wouldn't recommend it.

Excellent information. We may still get suckered in, but I'll try to avoid it!

The arcade was good, the restaurants are good, they have a spa (we didn't do it at all but wished we had~they even have a kids' spa that your DD may enjoy).

My dd loves to get her nails done, I can only imagine what will happen if I introduce her to the spa!

With all that being said, I don't feel a huge desire to go back for awhile. DD9 and I were there twice in a year and that was too much! But I think it is a nice overnight getaway, especially in the winter. Oh, you wanted to go to Texas...nevermind.

We want to escape from the summer heat, although it has been nice here this week.

If you want some pictures to see what DS would think, I have a ton that I could PM to you. Let me know. I feel like all my answers didn't help much at all! :confused3

Excellent answers. Thank you!

Nothing is ever too detailed for us, remember? ;)

Even stuff like clean restrooms and what time we took the Metro?

Yeah, what she said! :thumbsup2

Jo

OK, I now have 16 pages on word and I am only at the end of our 2nd full day. :sad2:

I haven't asked yet, but was wondering if you could spare a prayer for my cousin, Rebecca?

In late May, she and my other cousin took a trip to Egypt for fun- Rebecca is getting married Labor day w'kend- in CHS, she lives in Puerto Rico.
ANyway, the last three days of their trip, Rebecca got really sick with what they thought was food poisoning.

It's now almost August and she is still sick. She has been to specialist after specialist and no one can find out what she has.
They were thinking she picked up a parasite, but all the tests (hundreds of different types- things you've never heard of before-) keep coming back negative.

In all of this, she has lost 25 pounds and is down to below 100 pounds. It's now affected her heart, and she spends all day in bed b/c when she gets up, her heart goes into an abnormal rhythm, which they are trying to get under control thru meds.

She has always been very healthy- runs 8 miles a day and works out religiously- so they are concerned this is going to affect the rest of her life.

She is in SC with my Mom and Aunt, seeing all kinds of Dr's- and can't go back to Puerto Rico to get ready for her wedding until she is able to fly.

Her Fiancee had to address and send out the invitations from their home. He is having to get everything together for the wedding without her there. At this point, we are all hoping that she has the strength to walk down the aisle without blacking out.

Anyway- if you could pray that the Dr's will find what is wrong and be able to treat her properly- she sees another one on Thursday-- I'd appreciate it.

Thanks MAYers.

Jo- I am so sorry... sending more than just a prayer, but many good thoughts:flower3: and get well wishes too and of course a BIG hug!:grouphug:

I will keep her and her fiance and their families in my thoughts and prayers, Jo. :grouphug: I'm also praying that Thursday will be the day for some answers.

Hi Mayers!

Jo - I will add Rebecca to our family's prayer list. I hope the doctor's find out what is causing these problems very soon and get her better before the wedding.

RF - What a beautiful home! The Mickey kitchen is awesome! Congratulations again!

I haven't had the chance to go over deals with my sister yet. Staying at the value resorts for $59 a night is a killer deal. I am thinking I would rather stay at one of the values than the moderates this time since we are going to make this into almost a three week vacation.

Sea

MP just got beat in a race!

He just took silver to Paul Biedermann of Germany in the 200 meter free. Blast those fully non-permeable buoyant wetsuits!!! Seriously, Biedermann improved by 4 seconds since Beijing. 4 seconds in a 200 meter race???

In the infamous words of Ryan Lochte...BRING BACK THE BANANA HAMMOCKS!!!

:rotfl2: :lmao::rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

My condolences to you Trixie on MP's loss.:rotfl:

Afternoon MAYers!

Eventful day here. . . We had a doggie birthday party for Charlie this morning. He is now 13. :scared: But still looking good! Then we headed up to my dad's to take my step-mom to lunch for her birthday, which was Saturday.

I doubt I will haul my huge scrapbooks to Pittsburgh Saturday. Although it would be fun to share! :confused3

So what did everyone think of the Bachelorette last night???

JO - I am so sorry about your cousin. That is terrible. I will keep her in my prayers. Hoping they will figure out what the problem is soon.

Hi Sea! You sure can't beat the $59 Value rooms for your trip! :thumbsup2 Will your boys be coming too?

Thanks, everyone for the prayers for Rebecca.

She is my Aunt's youngest daughter, and is only 28, so this is really bad.
I appreciate everyone's thoughts for her.:grouphug:

Shelly---Happy Birthday to Charlie !!!!!!!!!!! He's an old dog! Did he get a new bone?:yay:

Trix- sorry for the loss. Sniff sniff.

Sea- wow- that is a good deal for a value. How much for a mod?
DOn't let them all book up before you get yours set.

This morning I broke down and bought tix for me and MCat to go to Charleston for Labor Day w'kend--- for Rebecca's wedding. It's been floating around $500 p/p for over a month and this morning it dropped to $300 p/p on Delta. Still oh so high- over $600 for two.
Don't the airlines know we are in a recession? Oh how I wish SW flew into CHS.

How am I ever gonna get back to WDW having to do side trips???
I know her wedding is important, but dang.....

Jo

Shelly - Yes, my boys will be coming to WDW with me, Nov. 7th. My sister and BIL and her two kids are planning to come the same time.

I don't know if my wife is going to be able to though. She has parent/teacher conferences that week. She is trying to see if she can move it forward a week. She was planning to come to FL Thursday, Nov. 12th right now.

Thanks JO! Yep, he got lots of treats and a bone! :dogdance:

I have been stalking SW daily. Rates were lower when they first came out for November, but I wasn't ready to book then. Right now they are pretty crappy. $147 each way.:eek::eek: So I wait. . . . This makes me nervous, but hopefully they will drop a month or 2 before the trip! :wizard:

That's awesome that the boys are coming!! I'm sorry your wife may not be able to come for the entire trip. Our parent-teacher conferences are around that time too. Hopefully she can work something out.

Ooooh- waiting for flights is the worst. I woke up in a panic in the middle of the night last night, afraid I was going to pay over 1K for the flight in Sept. So when I saw it had dropped, I didn't want to pay that much, but any savings is better than none, so I caved.

SW might still drop for you- that's really high I think. how much of a credit do you have for them? $150?
