Anyone been to Pizzafari in AK?

I have. It was good. The pizza was the standard pizza that you get at any of the CS places... Bob had an Italian sandwich and my pizza came with a caesar salad that Bob ate and he liked. (The dressing was waaay too thick for me.)

But everything was pretty good.

Thanks RF! I'm leaning towards it for lunch on our AK day. I figured it was only pizza, but it looks like there are a few other choices too! And the kids can get pizza or spaghetti. So that will work too. I know most people like Flame Tree Barbecue, but the menu isn't all that appetizing to me plus the kids only choices are a baked chicken drumstick (which they wouldn't touch) and a hot dog, and they aren't much for WDW hot dogs.

hey all-

Sea- did you get a good deal on a WDW vacation?

Lake- how did you like GFOrce? We saw it Fri night and really didn't like it much. I was sad b/c we've been waiting forever for it to come out.

Shelly- isn't there a place in AK with standard McD's fare?? We ate at FTBbq once and it was okay. Just okay. I loved the area by the water, though.
As far as DHS goes, we walked into ABC Comm once and backed out of it. I've heard it's not so good. We always eat at the place next to the playground in the back, near the entrance to the backlot tours. Don't remember the name, but we like it okay.

Trixie-- are you the proud auntie to a Michael or Michaela???:rotfl:

NC- isn't there a GWL in Kansas city or somewhere up this way?

RF- how was your dinner party?
Jo

Have fun at the movies!

Looks like I may end up with 4 kids today too. DS7 is having a friend over and DS10 just took off down the street to invite one of the neighbor kids over!

Lake - do the kids know about the tentative Disney trip or are you going to surprise them?

Movie was fun...not one of my favorites, but the kids liked it.

As for saturday, dressy casual for us probably since we are travelling about. The kids will I guarantee join yours in the fountain... jason usually wears the golf shirt with shorts kind of thing, I may be in capris with a nice shirt...but nothing overly dressy. So don't feel you need to get all snazzy for us.

And as for our disney trip.. or the hopes of one...nope...kids don't have a clue. I hope to surprise them with it...just waiting for Jason's mom to pick when they are renting their time share in florida so we have a better idea when we will go down as well. We hope to spend 3 days with them and then 4 or 5 at disney.

Okay, less than 2 weeks until I can make my ADR's!! :cool1:

I am pretty set on them~
Sci-Fi Dine In
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Big River Grille
Boatwrights
Kona
LeCellier
Turf Club
Crystal Palace

I still need a CS place in DHS (that is not Toy Story Pizza Planet!) and one in AK. . . . . :confused3

You were right I would still recommend Flametree BBQ... We love it!!!! Mostly because it wasn't over crowded, it was by the water like Jo mentioned... and the portions were huge. The kids split on one, and it left us a counter service credit to use later which was cool.

Restaurantosauras used to serve McDonalds food but I don't think they do anymore. We did eat there once. It was burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, etc.

Is the place you eat at DHS the Backlot Express? I was looking at that menu too. It's too bad that DHS doesn't have any better CS choices.

My kids still split CS meals at WDW if they are too hot or just not very hungry. And we usually end up with several CS credits left at the end of the week. And if we can't use them on meals they let us get 4 snacks with 1 CS credit! We always come home with lots of bagged WDW treats! :cool1:

OK. I'll definitely be sure not to mention any upcoming WDW trips for anyone.

I have been thinking about that all week - I was sooo nervous that I would mention Shelly's Nov trip and spoil it for DS7.

My lips are zipped on Saturday. :cool2:

Alright guys! Here are some pictures of the house!

We're not quite finished yet - there's still some painting to do, but I didn't want to rush the colors. So we decided to move in forst and see how we feel about the house before we decided anything....

That's it! We have a patio outside, but the landscaping needs a lot of work - so I'll wait to post pics of the outside.

We also have a laundry room and garage - which I will NOT be posting pics of. It's not bad, but just not very pretty either.

RF- Your house is wonderful. Congratulations again on your beautiful new home. We all love the mickey kitchen!!! :)
So happy for you that you finally have your own place. I hope you and Bob are so very happy there together. Lots of love and laughter within those walls.

I'm still working on my scrapbook room as well. That will take some time.
Everything else always comes first doesn't it.

..... tickers moving right along........... see you soon! :)

Good morning MAYers!

Very cute house RF! :goodvibes Love it! Any plans to fill up those extra bedrooms anytime soon??? :yay: I'm a little nosey this morning!

Looks like it's going to be another hot day here. It's hot already and it's only 9:30!

Good thing you are thinking RF! I wasn't even giving DS's surprise much thought. (probably because it wasn't really intended to be a surprise) I just figured we would be mostly talking about Disney at dinner! I guess we'll just have to leave out the upcoming trip part. You'll have to get DS10 off to the side and talk about it. He loves knowing something that his brother doesn't know. :rotfl: Him and I talk about it everyday. DS7 just seems to ignore us. He seriously doesn't want to know. :confused3 I guess he loved being surprised. I'm just not sure when to tell him. He doesn't want to know until the day we are leaving. Which is nearly impossible because of school. We could tell him on his birthday which is a month before the trip. . .

Anyone been to Pizzafari in AK?

Yes. I think we eat here for lunch most every year now on our AK day. It is sort of near where we are at lunch time. I think we usually eat around 11:30 and can walk up to the counter. We get pizza. I do like the Caesar salad.

How about ABC Commissary at DHS?

Ate there once and it was terrible. Worst meal we ever had at WDW. Sorry. It was on our first trip there as a family, so maybe it has changed.

Agreed. :thumbsup2

Jo

IDK. Everyone around here heads to the one is Dallas. How far is KC from where you are?

Movie was fun...not one of my favorites, but the kids liked it.

That was kind of what I thought about the movie too. Chloe liked it and I didn't fall asleep.

Love your house! The Mickey kitchen is too cute. That tea pot is adorable.

Okay, so I think I'll try Pizzafari. But you guys have me scared about ABC Commissary! :scared:

Hope you get a neice or nephew today Trix! :cloud9:

STILL NO BABY! My SIL is going to the doctor today, so we'll see what happens later...we're all just going nuts around here waiting.

Maybe today will be the day! Or she just likes to arrive late to be socially fashionable!

hmm.... maybe we should have a meet there sometime!!!!

That would be fun..just not too soon...I'm not in swimsuit shape yet!!!

...we've talked about going one winter.

We went twice in November. The last time (which was last November) it was snowing outside and 84 degrees in the waterpark. Very cool to see!

What did you think?

I am guessing since you have been 3 times you like it! :thumbsup2

Tell me all about it.

My hubby is just not getting it. I need some help in convincing him.

It is fairly pricey as well.

Were there lines for things?

How was the quest?

My kids are 14 and 11. I feel certain 11 year will love it. 14 year old not so sure... He thought it looked like it was for little kids on the website, what do you think?

It is pricey, I agree with that. But you can get good deals, you just have to watch for them. I kind of like that fact that it's pricey because we went to a waterpark in a hotel where you didn't have to stay in the hotel to use the waterpark and the clientele was WAY different. And not different in a good way. :snooty:

We had a great time all three times we went. The girls were pretty little when we went the first time, like 3 and 5 maybe, so we spent most of our time doing the little stuff (which you wouldn't need to do). The next time was with the Girl Scouts (who ranged from 3rd grade to 6th grade). They did all the big stuff. And always wanted me to go with them. I can't tell you how many times I heard "Mrs. [insert last name here], will you come on the big slide with me?" Which is wonderful, and I did everytime I was asked. But that big slide is high, so there are a ton of steps going up to it. I WAS TIRED when we got home. Like unbelievably, couldn't function tired! The third time we went was last November, so the the girls were 6 and 9, and by that time, it was all big stuff all the way. And the big stuff is BIG. Probably not Disney waterpark big, but certainly big enough.

There weren't long lines for things. You did have to wait for the big slides a little because the workers tell you when you can go for safety purposes. But we never waited long and it never bothered us.

I would say that there's not much need to stay for more than one night because you can go to the park the day you arrive and the day you check out (which is what we did). By that second day, you're ready to leave.

We were really disappointed in the Quest. Your 14 year old would think it was lame. It was also very expensive! I wouldn't recommend it.

The arcade was good, the restaurants are good, they have a spa (we didn't do it at all but wished we had~they even have a kids' spa that your DD may enjoy).

With all that being said, I don't feel a huge desire to go back for awhile. DD9 and I were there twice in a year and that was too much! But I think it is a nice overnight getaway, especially in the winter. Oh, you wanted to go to Texas...nevermind.

If you want some pictures to see what DS would think, I have a ton that I could PM to you. Let me know. I feel like all my answers didn't help much at all! :confused3

I started writing a DC trip report this morning on my computer. I have arrival day finished. I think I am way too detailed. It is 3 pages long on Word, just my arrival day! Of course, it is typed in a 14 font so that I can ready it!

Nothing is ever too detailed for us, remember? ;)

Very cute house RF! :goodvibes Love it! Any plans to fill up those extra bedrooms anytime soon??? :yay: I'm a little nosey this morning!

Yeah, what she said! :thumbsup2
