Hello to my MAYer Peeps-

Just a quick hey-- I'm furiously trying to get everything together. Leaving tomorrow afternoon for Chs.

Pulled out my suitcase, only to remember that the one I wanted to use- the one I took to Hawaii-- United airlines so conveniently broke my handle on. I ran to the store to find a new one and couldn't find one I liked, so I'll use it with the broken handle. Maybe they'll find something else they can break on it, instead of a new one.:headache:

So-- now--doing laundry- getting things in the house straight- ran to Sephora-- I really shouldn't have-- guess who really wants a job there...:rolleyes1:rolleyes1-- went to the grocery store- and whew! Now I must eat lunch!

NC--- I have a gold wall in my DR sort of like an old European cracked wall look- I think the artist must have ragged and then feathered the wall-- anyway- I have fabric seated gold colored chairs that I got from Macy's in there- and even though they blend with the walls- I have enough color in the room with other things that it looks really good. At least, I think it does.:rotfl: I think the two chairs are a bit different in style- the fabric ones are a bit more formal while the whole leather are a little less. I think it's going to depend on what else you have in that room that will counterbalance the chairs and what kind of look you are going for. But they are both beautiful.

Sea-- try not to suffocate out there!

Hi KB! How's your Mom doing? Hope your trip to DL will be magical--- and Happy Birthday to your "Baby Boy".:)

Hi to Sulley! Hope you get some energy soon!

SHelly-- hey-- I know-- I need to do the rest of the TR's-- I never am in the mood!:rolleyes1:lmao: I'll read yours happily, though.

Hi to RF-- Hello to MAri-- Trixie- where are you????? Lake??? Same question.
:happytv:

Okay must go now.

Have a good afternoon- I'll be back later!

Jo

So has anyone here seen Bob Jackson perform at POFQ? We have some friends that go regularly to his show and want to take us while we are there in Nov. Our friends from TX saw him a few weeks ago and they said had a good time.

Is he is the one at POR- Riverside, not the French Quarter? The piano dude?? He's supposed to be wonderful.

At the Scat Cat club in POFQ- the entertainment is Eliot Dyson- if he's still there- and is really good. Fun night we had listening to him.

Jo

So we got up bright and early Saturday morning at 6:00am. Left the house around 7:15. We took I-80 out. We can either take I-80 across the middle of PA or we can go down by Pittsburgh and take I-76 - the turnpike. The turnpike is a straighter shot, but I-80 is slightly shorter (but has a lot of road changes). We decided to take I-80 out and the turnpike back. Ended up that the turnpike rate had gone up quite a bit since the last time we took it - $15.95 from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh :scared1: - we found that out on the way home Sunday.

The trip was pretty uneventful and pretty soon we were almost there!

Good job on the TR...more please!

Mmmmm....That menu looks awesome Shelly.

YUM! :goodvibes

I love pretzel bread. I want to try one of those sandwiches... More TR please. :thumbsup2

hi everyone!
Sorry I have been absent Jo. :)
Spent yesterday across the border finishing up some back to school shopping and clothing Ethan who had a huge growth spurt this summer. Then when we got home it was time to go to the hair dresser. Emmy got a trim, but Ethan was in desperate need of it. Now he looks like my boy again and is ready for school. Late last night I registered them online for all their fall activities. Indoor Soccer for Ethan and Gymnastics and Dance for Emmy.

Today I was up early and took the kids to my MIL's so that I could go to my doctor appointments. Now it's just a waiting game for results...AGAIN!! New prescription to try...we'll see how that goes. But I'm hopeful.
Glass alway half full right!

Jason should be home form Chicago tonight...I can't wait. I've really missed him this week.

I think it may be time for me to plan a vacation...:rotfl2: I need it. We haven't decided what to do or where to go for our annual birthday (no kids) trip yet, with only two months till then I guess I should work on that.

I can hardly believe its September now. Summer vacation I hardly knew ya...
One week till school starts.

So glad all is going well with everyone...

Sea- hang in there through those fires. I'm thinking about you all.
Shelly - TR is great. Amazing and fun lunch pics.

In my sporadic series of Disney license plates, here is a new one I saw today up in Beverly Hills.

I really like the headless decal person on the left side of the window. LOL!

Hi KB!!!

We definitely got you scheduled in for Cali-Mayer Meet-Up on the 19th at the big "C". Did we decided on a time??? DL opens at 8am, DCA opens at 10am. Stompy Jones and Scot Bruce (Elvis) are performing that day too. Good entertainment that day. Magical Fireworks and F! will be rocking the park too! You still have my cell phone number? PM if you lost it.

Sea

Sounds great...pretty sure I still have your # in my cellphone. where do Stompy and Scot perform? *IF* Mike and I don't sleep in (depends on how Friday night goes, LOL) then we will skip DL and meet you at the C at...maybe 9:30? Is that too early? 'Cause we could go straight to TSM -- they still don't have FP's, right? Then maybe Screamin' while we are over there... I know for sure Mike wants to ride ToT with you guys (I'll take the chicken exit, thank you very much), and we want to see Aladdin, and ride Soarin'! If it's hot, GRR would be fun (I'll try to remember our ponchos). If we head over to DL after DCA closes, what would you recommend for timing to try to catch BOTH F! and the fireworks? Sat might be our early entry day at DL, and if we do that then we'll go in early, hit Nemo and the Matterhorn (no SM :guilty:) and then still make it to the C by 9:30. I'm usually commando-style, but don't know how Mike will want to tour, so I'll try not to wear him out too bad :rotfl2: I think he'll be more likely to stay up late with me than get up early... :rolleyes1

Man o man, I really hope the fires calm down soon -- I have asthma, too, I know how awful it is when you can't breathe... :sad2:

KB - Happy Birthday to your DS!!! Those pics you posted are super cute, RF may be shopping in Morocco on her next trip! :rolleyes1 Are you excited about your trip? I would be! :yay:

Thanks! I loved the stores in Morocco, everything in there is so intricate and beautiful, all the tile mosaic work. Did you guys know that Morocco is the only country in Epcot that is sponsored by the actual country? That's why there is a sign there that says, "Kingdom of Morocco". They were very particular that the artwork and architecture be authentic, and that there would be nothing against their religion (like many Muslims believe the depiction of humans in their artwork is idolatry, like the Amish aren't allowed to put faces on their dolls.)

NC - I like the chair on the left. Both are nice though. You sound like me with my shutter dilemma!

Hi KB! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son!!

Today I would like to go through all the travel toiletries ziplock bags. See what all we need for the upcoming trip! Start to get them all in their proper bags - checked bags and carry-ons. Not that it matters, I STILL HAVE NO AIRFARE!!! It dropped from $147 to $139. Wow. I'm starting to freak out a little. Okay, maybe A LOT!! :scared1:

DS10's Open House is tonight. Hopefully he likes his teacher! :wizard: I can't believe he is in 5th grade. :sad1: Oh and get this - I got a letter in the mail the other day and guess who got put in advanced math again??? Can you believe it? Remember a few weeks ago I was secretly hoping he wouldn't? :guilty: I'm really dreading the 5th grade homework.

Thanks for the bday wishes for Erik :) Did you pick your shutter color yet? I know, I bought tix on Jet Blue, they were 125.00, then went up to 149.00 so I bought them quick! And I just checked last week and they are back down to 119.00, but non-refundable! :sad2: It's a gamble... And don't be afraid of 5th grade homework! I homeschooled my kids for 7 years...sometimes you just have to read ahead in their book so you know what's coming up :confused3:laughing:

Hi KB! How's your Mom doing? Hope your trip to DL will be magical--- and Happy Birthday to your "Baby Boy".:)

Mom is doing great, loving her new place, making friends, thrilled to be near family. I am soooooooo happy we moved her out here. Saturday night she rolled out of bed and couldn't get up off the floor for almost 30 minutes (she's 79). She finally was able to get back up, thank goodness. But even if she hadn't be able to, if she didn't show up for breakfast, they would have been at her apartment checking on her. And I realized that when she was in Idaho...NO ONE WOULD HAVE KNOWN  My BIL sometimes wouldn't even check on her once a week, and he went on a camping trip for two weeks without even checking on her before he left :scared1: And she didn't know her neighbors or anything.

My DL trip with my son is going to be so much fun! I can't wait...I love taking people to Disney for the first time -- he's been before, but only twice, when he was about 7, and when he was about 13. Now he's 23! And my "baby boy" that just had his bday...can't believe my "babies" all tower over me  Good thing I raised 'em up right to listen to me since they are a lot bigger than me now

Good Morning!!!

I'm a little late getting started this morning! And about to make some breakfast anyone want to join me???? I'm taking orders. :goodvibes

I also have a Malik update... the cancer has not spread, and he is back to London today to find out how the proceed from here. Chemo ect...

Morning everyone!

I am frantically running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

Er..... nice visual so early. Sorry- it's a phrase my Mom's always said- but to type it out sounds so much.............................
worse.

Anyway--
Lake-- keep us posted on your Dr visits. My prayers are with you.
And Malik too. Do they know what kind it is?
Prayers for them as well.
I think for a vacation, hum, let me think......
oooh- have you ever been to Asheville NC to the Biltmore House? It is beautiful.
What about Jekyll Island in Georgia?
What about...... Washington DC?
Williamsburg Va?

Oooh-- I know! Disney World!:lmao: Just don't tell the kids.

Shelly- nice TR! I love the bread!
Can't wait for more.

Sea- how are things this morning? I loved the headless Disney lover on that decal as well. It's the first thing I noticed, LOL.

Hey to everyone else. Sorry i have to run.

Gotta finish packing up and get to the airport this afternoon.

"Momma, I'm comin' home!"

I'll check in when I get there sometime in a few days.

Y'all be good and root for the Gators.:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

(PS-- NC-- Mom isn't able to go to the bar for Sat.'s game- she has to go to the rehearsal dinner. So instead, she's throwing the pizza party for South Carolina's opener on Thursday night. Gotta show the SEC that love, ya know. Any football is good for our extended family. As long as it's SEC ball.;))

Bye guys!

Jo

Wishing you a wonderful trip home Jo. Please eat a Praline for me. :lmao:

Thanks for the vacation ideas. I'm online browsing right now actually.
I've been to DC, and drove through Asheville on the way to Charleston. Beautiful area.
I'll check out your other suggestions too.

Thanks for all the prayers.:grouphug:much appreciated.:flower3:

Good job on the TR...more please!

Thanks Sea!

It is called rainbow bread. It's a kids meal - build your own pb&j & marshmallow sandwich. Well you guys all know DS7's food issues and how he basically hates everything that is food! :sad2: But he does love bread. And him eating colored bread is something that he wouldn't have done a few years ago. Big accomplishment. (JO - I know you know exactly what I mean ) So he ate the bread - plain, no pb&j and then ate the marshmallows separately. But anyway, they do sell the bread in a tiny loaf for $4. I was going to get one to take home since it looked so neat, so I tasted DS's bread. Tasted like bread. Must have just been food coloring. :confused3 Didn't buy any!

Mmmmm....That menu looks awesome Shelly.

YUM! :goodvibes

I love pretzel bread. I want to try one of those sandwiches... More TR please. :thumbsup2

I always get the twisted chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken on pretzel bread. So good! :cloud9: I wish they had Isaac's in Pittsburgh!

Shelly - TR is great. Amazing and fun lunch pics.

Thanks Lake! :goodvibes

Nope, still debating on the shutter color. :confused3

Airfare is still so high! :sad2: Not sure what to do at this point. I've never waited this long. I didn't want to buy too early and end up with another credit (like last time that has to be used within a certain amount of time or you lose it), since they won't refund you. But now I am nearly 2 months out! :scared1: We can not drive. Four hours to Hershey and I was so bored I said to DH - I don't know how people drive from PA to WDW!

We met DS10's 5th grade teacher last night. Seems very nice. She said that if they use their time wisely they shouldn't have too awful much homework! :woohoo: Here's to hoping DS uses his time wisely!! :wizard:

Shelly- nice TR! I love the bread!
Can't wait for more.

Bye guys!

Jo

Thanks JO. I'll post some more in a little bit.

Have a safe and fun trip home! :goodvibes
