Shelly and Trixie are the kids ready for school?????

My girls are rather nervous about starting their new school, actually. :scared: We met with DD9's teachers and the resource room teacher (should she need to leave the classroom due to her anxiety/panic issues) and came up with a really good plan. She got to see her classrooms, the bathrooms, and found out which door she needs to be at in the morning.

DD7 was sick the day we went, so I'm calling in a few minutes to see if we can go there today to see her stuff. The teachers don't actually have to report today because of the holiday weekend, so I don't know if it's going to work out or not. I'm crossing my fingers.

Tuesday is going to be a really hard day for all of us.

Are your kids excited about the new school? They went in already and met their teachers and everything? Do they ride the bus or do you take them in? I'll be thinking of you Tuesday morning, too!

The kids seem really okay actually. Ethan admitted one day that he was a bit nervous and then a friend of mine cutely said to him...but Jedi don't get nervous. Which made him smile , and all has been well.

We went for a tour about a week ago. We saw Ethan's classroom, but didn't get to meet his teacher, she wasn't there. Emily's teacher was, and she spent quite a bit of time with us. So I feel confident about her.
They do ride the school bus, and because we live on a corner the bus stop is right out front of our house. :) On the first day though I will drive Ethan in, but will probably let him take the bus home. Emily doesn't start till the 14th for senior kindergarten.

New schools, new schedules... we can help each other through it.
I'm sure I'll be more nervous than either of them.

Dole Whip is a cure-all for everything and anything that ails ya. :thumbsup2 Do you have a recipe or did you find a place to buy a mix?

Sea gave me the info to buy the mix. :worship:

Here's the website that explains everything and gets you to the company that sells it. It's expensive but totally worth it!

http://www.distantcreations.com/**************/dolewhip/

I've tried to find somewhere cheaper to buy it (even if I had to buy it in really big bags), but no one will sell to me because I'm just a person, not a business.

Morning all :goodvibes

I am kinda bored. :bored:

I took today off to have a long weekend (since we have Mon off) and I am wandering around all by myself...

I think I will clean up the house and then organize my scrapbook stuff. Try to get ready for fall! That's my favorite time to scrapbook - when it's cool and breezy when I open the windows, get a hot cup of tea and a blanket. :cloud9: I love fall!

KB- I did see your ticker!!! I am so jealous! And excited for you!!! :woohoo: And yes - the DxDP was too much food - but since we are going with my family next time and they always get the DxDP - we wanted to be able to go to dinner with them. So, DxDP one more year! :goodvibes

Which is fine because I really want to go to some of the signature places with them for the 1st time. :goodvibes and take them to the HDDR! We'll just do what we did last year and only eat a CS for lunch and 1 big meal at night.

Lake - Have a fun weekend! That's cute about Ethan being a brave Jedi. :goodvibes I'll still be thinking about Malik and his family.

Trix - So, now that you're done - what did you think of the Twilight series?? And I'm glad that you know what I mean about the tent scene. I think it will be HILARIOUS. Also, that's the biggest reason I didn't want them to replace Jacob after Twilight. :guilty: I liked the tension that they built up between him and Edward in the few scenes that they had together. AND - I am pi**ed enough that they replaced Victoria. She was perfect. :sad1:

NC - How's the team doing? Did you make a decision about your chairs?

Sea - Are you staying smoke free? Are you and KB planning your next DL video installment for us???!! :yay:

Jo - Have a great weekend! I miss Charleston. I got RIPPED OFF when I went there. We barely got to see anything. Except my friend cleaning her dirty house while we sat around waiting to get shown around.

Shelly - Do you have any more TR for us? :yay:

Well, all I know is that my aunt wanted to go in Nov for the W&FF, but it ends in the 1st few days if November... So she decied that she wanted to push our trip up a week and we would go to MNSSHP again! :cool1:

We are thinking of staying at CSR and being on the DxDP again. :goodvibes

I'm confused! I thought you were going on your family's bounceback in August and getting free dining and staying at the WL!?

Shelly~love the Hershey TR! The boys crack me up. It's amazing to see how much they've changed since January!!!

Thanks Trix! :goodvibes

Shelly- loved the TR. I can't believe that we never made it there while we lived there. I think itlooks so fun.

Jo

I can't believe you didn't make it there either!

Sorry about all the wedding troubles. Hope things will turn around soon! :goodvibes

A Chocolate TR -- man, oh, man, I wish it was a scratch-'n-sniff TR... We used to take our kids to the Hershey factory down near Modesto, but it wasn't nearly as big or wonderful as this one in PA looks. Even so, I remember how great it smelled there.

I didn't realize there was another Hershey Factory somewhere else.

I guess they used to do the tour in the actual factory where they make the actual products. But now it is just a simulated thing. It still smells wonderful though! And you can drive by the real factory with your windows down and smell the real thing too! :cloud9:

Shelly - Do you have any more TR for us? :yay:

Oh yes, I have lots more!! :yay:

Shelly and Trixie are the kids ready for school?????

I think the boys are all ready. We met their teachers this week. Both seem great. DS got a male teacher, so that is a new experience for us. Neither of them have any of their best friends in their class, so that's kind of a bummer. But as you all know they are anything but shy, so I'm sure they will be fine!

Lake & Trix - I know it will be a rough day with your kids starting new schools. DS10 went through it when we moved here 3 years ago. I was a mess the entire day until he got off the bus! And he was just fine. Kids adjust so well, and the younger the better I think. Now he wouldn't want to do it again, but once was fine!

The MAYers will be here to help you get through the day! :snooty::grouphug:

Well, when they got home - my aunt said that she could NOT bear going in Aug again with the heat. :faint: And my cousin Mike said that he thinks that he got the deal confused and it was legit- but it was one of those 2 adults, 1 junior, 1 child deals...

So, we tossed Nov and Oct around again - with potential NO free dining. :guilty: So, as far as I know this is what she decided on. But, until it's booked and we have flights, anything can change - so I am just looking forward to our trip sometime next fall.
:confused3

Still super excited!

Those deals are usually for any size party, they just advertise the 2A, 1J, 1C I think because that's the typical family. But I don't blame you, I don't think I would ever go in August because of the heat :faint:, no matter how good the deal was. Well, never say never, right? :rotfl: I'd go if it was FREE!! :lmao:

I'll be sure to let you know what we think of November! :goodvibes

Hello Mayers! Still smokey out here, they have about 40% of the fire contained but it is hot and gross out here. We are expecting a marine layer to come through the next few days so it is suppose to get cooler this weekend...

Shelly - I woke up this morning thinking about those sandwiches! Dang!

Jo - You can't have a wedding without a bride! Where did you put the flowers? MCat broke the camera? Wow, this is like a movie!

KB - Yes, Stompy Jones is swing dance band. They are awesome!

RF - Yes, we will make a new "shout out" video for our Mayers!

Trix - I am sure your new school will be great! The first week will be the hardest but it will get easier really quick. Kids make friends fast and when they get down to work, all the drama about a new school is over. I hope you have a good year!

Lake - What will you be doing for Labour day this year? I heard a rumour that many of our neighbours from the North will be selecting a new colour to paint their parlours which is also their favorite flavour of ice cream. ;)

Okay, back to the story! We did the tour ride 3 times throughout the day and finally on the last ride we got a "bean" car to ourselves!

Not sure in what order we did everything else, but we shopped, we did the 3-D Show, the kids did the Factory Works experience, and we did the new Chocolate Tasting Tour!

Shopping!

Is it my imagination or does that shirt make me look pregnant???:lmao: I can guarantee you I am not pregnant! But I think I look like it in that picture! :rotfl: And that's one of my new shirts I got for Disney! I bought about 5 new lightweight short sleeved shirts for November (hoping that I don't need tank tops like in May and sweaters like in January!).

Great pictures Shelly! The boys' shirts are hilarious and those enormous chocolate bars and kisses give me a stomach ache just thinking about eating a whole one. Good times!

The 3D Show is awesome! Lots of special effects. Puts you very much in mind of Mickey's Philharmagic.

Of course we couldn't take pictures inside the show, so these are the only ones I got.

On the way out a man in the row in front of us said to his family - that was way better than the 3D Shows at Disney! :sad2: Then he said it is definitely better than ITTBAB and HISTA. Okay, I may have to agree with him on the ITTBAB, never seen HISTA. :confused3 But obviously this man hasn't seen Philharmagic! - Which BTW I am so excited to see, because it was closed for refurbishment in January!

:rotfl2: You need to get an early lunch today!

Thanks Sea!

People were buying those "World's Largest Hershey Bars" left and right! Hilarious! :lmao: And I think they are about $30 or $40. We just take a picture!

I would agree with the guy about HISTA, that show is a bit old and outdated now. But ITTBAB is very good and Mickey's Philharmagic is awesome. BTW, did you hear, DL is returning Captain EO in January!
