Thanks NC! :flower3: I love that little chandelier! I think it is soo cute. :goodvibes

It just hangs a wee bit too low. Bob is going to see if he can fix that - but even if he can't, it stays. I love it so much!

My TR is finally updated. :thumbsup2 Those things are a lot of work!

Hello MAYers!

We're back! We had a very nice and fun little trip. It was nice to get away and not worry about working on the house for once! Wish it could have been longer, but we do have a long trip coming up! It was just a lot of time in the car in 2 days. Four hours out on Saturday morning and four hours back today.

More details later tonight or tomorrow. Lots of pictures to share of course! :goodvibes

Awesome RF!

Well, it's not finished - but it's getting there! There is still a few more things that I need to hang up on the wall... But here it is! Almost finished!

I guess you probably have heard about the fires we have been having. Here is a couple of views from our sun deck of the smoke plumes. This is the Altadena / La Canada fire. Just heard a few minutes ago that the TV and Radio towers on Mt. Wilson that serve LA area are in danger now of being consumed by the fire.

This is about 25 miles from our home.

At night we can see the glow of the fires on the mountain sides. I have heard the flames have been up to 80 feet high. WOW!

We had a very nice memorial service yesterday for my wife's mom. Our friend, Cornelia, who took care of my MIL daily, made us this beautiful and amazing cake.

Everything is edible including the pot! It took her two days to make it. Inside was dark chocolate with raspberry filling. It was too gorgeous to eat.

My MIL loved to garden and flowers. So it was fitting to honor her this way!

My wife has officially adopted Cornelia as her sister! LOLOL!

BTW, if you want to see the slide show and tribute folio we made to my MIL, PM me and I will send you a link. - Tom

A new photo from just a few minutes ago (Sunday pm) ...this is just amazing to me. Those two towers on the left are the Century City towers, 44 stories tall. The mountains are the Hollywood Hills, and behind them are the mountains where the fire is.

BTW,the other two photos of the smoke were taken yesterday, Saturday afternoon.

RF- what is the colour called that you painted your scrap room. I love it. I've been looking for a perfect purplish colour for Emmy's room...and what you chose is beautiful.

Thanks Lake!!! It's called 'Weeping Wisteria' from Behr :goodvibes

I had the hardest stime deciding between that and 'One Enchanted Evening' from the Disney paints from Behr... They're pretty close - but the one that I bought isn't quite as bright. :thumbsup2

I am going to post the pic of my dining room after it was painted too. I kept forgetting about that! I was so excited for my scrapbook room. :wizard:

I was going for a moroccan-ish look.

I don't know if it worked, ut either way this color is growing on me :goodvibes

What a beautiful cake! I am so glad the service went well!

I think Conrelia maybe related to the Cake Boss! That cake is amazing!

Holy Smokes Sea! That is too close for comfort for me! Is the smoke smell unbarable?

I love it!

Hello to all the MAYers out there in MAYersville!

Busy week here! Tonight is High School parents night! Tomorrow is the High School football game which will be played in War Memorial stadium, which is a large stadium here in Little Rock where the Razorbacks play when they are in town. Wednesday night is church for DS and Thursday is our Jr. High football game. Saturday we will watch the Razorbacks at War Memorial. Good grief, 3 games in one week. Are you ready for some football?

Sea - that cake looks delish!!! I may have to borrow your new sister in law. ;)

:goodvibes

Stay safe from those fires...

Thanks guys...sheesh the fire has grown over night from 45,000 acres to over 85,000 - a 134 square miles! There is now a lot of ash in the air and I have decided to keep my son home the next few days because of the air quality. We don't need him to have an asthma attack.

I don't blame you! I can completely relate about the asthma situation!

They just put us back on allergy shots for twice a week to up our dose as we were not seeing any results at what should be our "maintenance" level.

I hope your son does well!

Here is our new dragon for Fantasmic! I think it looks awesome!

It was suppose to debut this summer, but because of technical setbacks it never was part of the show. It is suppose to perform tonight for the first time.
We shall see...I might have to make a trip down there this week...

Which chair do you like better for my dining room? I am going to paint the walls a deep gold color that is on the walls across the entry hall in the study.

Afternoon MAYers!

That dragon looks so cool Sea! Stay safe from those fires. That sure is scary.

Great pics RF.

Busy week here. Soccer Mon Wed and Fri, Open Houses Tues and Thurs. Plus an orientation on Thursday. Then back to school next Tuesday. :sad2:

Afternoon MAYers.

Busy, busy, everyone's busy.:goodvibes

Sea- first of all- stay safe. Second of all- glad the memorail went well. The cake is one of the coolest cakes I've ever seen. What a special person she is to have made that for you guys.:lovestruc
The dragon is cool! I can't believe it hasn't made it's debut yet.
Did you ever finalize plans for your Nov trip?

RF--- love the purple walls! And the chandelier is so precious! I forsee a baby girl in this room ..... in the future, of course.:goodvibes Your DR is nice- the Moroccan vibe is definitely there! Love the color.

NC- are we ready for football? ARE WE READY FOR FOOTBALL???????? Must you ask???????????:worship::worship::worship::worship::worship:
First game of the season- Thursday night- USC is playing.... and we'll be watching it from Charleston. Mom's throwing a pizza party for all the out of town folks at my Aunt's house! Woo hoo!!!
Hope your son's game is great.
Now- we need to discuss Mallett. I'm not so sure about him. What do you think? Petrino looks MUCH more relaxed this year than last. I think you guys will have a pretty good season. We were thinking about trying to get tix for the Ark/USC game that's here. Still haven't decided.
As far as the chairs- I LOVE the fabric backed one. But that's the kind of girl I am. Very formal, LOL. They both are beautiful and I love the painting of the fruit.

Shelly- we need a TR. I don't care if you're tired.:goodvibes:rotfl2:

This weekend went by too fast.
We had a company picnic on Saturday where I got to hold a newborn preciousness baby that's 10 weeks old. Didn't want to give him back. Sooo cute.

Yesterday, Belle had been bugging Mark to teach her to ride her bike w/o training wheels- so he took her down and tried twice to run behind her, holding onto the bike. She kept stomping on the brakes. So he said, "well, when you decide you're ready let me know, I'll run next to you."

Instead, she pushed off and started pedaling by herself. In about 3 minutes, she was standing up pedaling and turning around.
Took all of 10 minutes for her to learn. I was astounded.

When Drew learned, he did it in one run.:confused:

They certainly don't get their balance from me.:rolleyes1
MCat, however did. Took her two years to get it- AND she wiped out a mailbox and a man jogging before she learned how.:scared1:

:rotfl2:
They all come walking up to the house bloody.:rotfl2:

Ahhhh- the rites of passage of childhood.

Makes me sorta sad.

:guilty:

Check out this cool time-lapse video of the smoke plumes. This was shot from Playa Vista about 5 miles south of me. You can see the Hollywood sign at 45 seconds. Those satellite dishes on the bottom of screen are the west coast offices of DirecTV. The freeway is the 90 Marina Del Rey connection.
