LOL - I think that we might be a bit too old to do some of the stuff there, but we will see what we can getaway with. LOL!

I know you are going to "infinity and beyond" in Buzz's Giant Bouncehouse! LOL

It will be fun to see what they have to offer! Plus, I don't think you'll be too old for any of it. You may just exceed some of the height restrictions! :rotfl:

Morning all....

Sorry that I havent added to my TR... busy here between cleanin gup washing cloths and one of my distant cousins came to visit for 10 days so i have been taking her around... and finishing up the details for my mom's surprise 50th bday party. Oh and today I have a bday party and a babyshower to go to.... ugh... LONG day..... but when i get home tonight I will add another part of the TR.....

I hope everyone enjoys their day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a MAYerific Saturday! We're heading to see TS3 at 3:55 today! Jason had to work a half day so we're waiting for him to come home and go with us. To pass the time we went to the Disney Store for a TS3 scavenger hunt. I learned that Jessie has green eyes and that Woody has a bull on his belt buckle. It was such fun and the kids each got a puzzle for completing it!

Hey guys. :goodvibes Checking in!

I finally watched Mari and Sea's video's last night and they are all AWESOME! WOC looks amazing!

I'm really bummed that the MSEP and Nighttastic are going to be gone when I get there. :guilty: I hope that they go over really well and they keep them! I have only seen Spectro once, but I am getting kind of bored with Wishes. :confused3 I really hope they decide to keep Nightastic going until I can see it! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

So.... on a side note - I am a blonde now! I chopped off all my hair for summer :goodvibes Sometimes I just get really bored and need a change. I used to be a blonde all the time, probably until I graduated and then dyed my hair darker - but I wanted a change and also wanted to look nice for when I get to see my favorite Canadians this weekend!

Beth is doing OK. Thanks for thinking of her everyone. :grouphug: It's going to be a REALLY rough recovery for her, and they're still not done working on her - but it appears that she will pull through.
Congrats on the new do!
I'm glad Beth will be okay and I hope her recovery goes well. How scary!
I am sooo excited.

My wonderful hero of a miltary brother and his equally amazing miltary wife have been transfered from CFB (Canadian Forces Base) EDMONTON to CFB TORONTO.

So instead of a 4 day drive, they will only be a 4 hour drive away. My entire family will be back in Ontario by July 2. yes we will still be spread out, but this is so much better.

I will get to watch my niece and soon to be niece or nephew (due in august) grow up.

:yay::yay::yay:
So happy for you! There are days when I'd like to move far far away from my sister but then I know I would regret it. I had her kids over last night for a sleepover and my kids were so happy.
LOL - I think that we might be a bit too old to do some of the stuff there, but we will see what we can getaway with. LOL!
You need some younger kids Sea so you and Lena can get away with getting on the little kids stuff with them.

Hey all! Just wanted to check in and say that we made it home safely from Cedar Point! We had a fabulous time with Lake and her DH. We didn't take many pictures, we were too busy on the rides and left our cameras in lockers for most of the day - but I'll put some up within the next few days if I can! :goodvibes

Mari - Yes please, more TR!!!!

NC! I just saw that you are 3 weeks away!!!!

I'm right around 3 months out! Flights are booked, We booked an extra day! Casey is definitely coming! We decided that the first day that we are there with just Bob, myself and her will be AK. Life is good :cloud9:

Good MORNING....

Happy Father's Day to all Mayer Dad's.

I'm very pink, more than slightly over cooked form the sun. With the breeze off Lake Erie we didn't feel ourselves roasting, plus we were having too much fun on the water rides to notice. It was perfect weather for an amazing weekend with RF and Bob. SO MUCH FUN. Thanks friend.

Loving hearing all about your trip Mari.

Can't wait to hear about yours NC.

Lake & RF - So glad you guys had a safe and fun trip!

Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

We have 7 more days of school. The last day is next tuesday for Ethan and Monday for Emmy.. now it feels like summer is almost here.
I'm off to the school to help in Emily's room today, and wednesday I am going with Ethan on his field trp. Busy week, but I so love being able to be involved in their activities and sharing their adventures with them.

Have a great day. Catch up with you all soon.

Wow! I can't believe you guys are still in school! I am sure you are ready for summer break.

I am taking the kids to camp today. The temp is supposed to be over 100 with a heat index of who knows how high.

Have a great day!!!

1st day:

As we are on the bus I can see Marissa looking all over.... She was so excited to be in WDW.... I still had not told her where we were staying i don't think that really matters to her.... so our bus pulls in and i automatically see

IMG_0199.jpg

First thing we do is go check in. I did the online check in so i had to go to a seperate line. There was NO line at check in so that was great. By this time it was only 10:45, i was hoping our room was ready although i knew that was a long shot. So they just take my cell phone number and told me that they would text me once the room was ready. I was so excited. I checked my carryon luggage into luggage services and off we went.

First impression of the bus system at POP was NOT a positive one. We waited for about 30 min for a bus to EPCOT. I was so upset because 2 different buses for AK passed by  . But once the bus came we hopped on and were so happy. So we are off to EPCOT.... let me tell you guys it was SUPER hot. it honestly wasn't crowded though so that was a plus. I knew that day that we weren't really going to do anything. We basically went just to go to our ADR at LeCellier. But it was good cause we were able to explore for a lil bit. So we get to LeCellier a lil early but they sat us right away. I LOVE that it was only the 2 of us. We never really waited for our table. So we go in and I get the mixed green salad with pear, cheese and walnuts... it was so YUMMY ..... and then i had the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon .... it wasn't as great as i remembered. It was ok...

So we leave LeCellier and decide to go around World showcase just to explore. When 3pm rolls around I get the text that our room was ready. We got room 5112. So we start heading back to the entrance when we have to take a lil break Marissa was SO sweaty...

IMG_0081.jpg

I don't know if you can see in this pic how sweaty she was.....

So we had back to bus area and again we have to wait like 30 min for a bus to take us back to POP.

So we finally get back to POP and i go ask where our room was and they point me to the room.... as we walk by I notice the HUGE mowgli and Balloo , which by the way Marissa loved. We got a room on the the groud floor which i loved because the last thing I want after a long day at the park would be to wait for an elevator to get to our room. So we get to our room and start to unpack and i know Marissa is ready for a nap...

IMG_0085.jpg

But ready wasn't the word... I went into the bathroom to put our shower toilitires there and I come out and find this....

IMG_0088.jpg

She slept for about 3 hours. I took advantage and unpacked our stuff and just relaxed. We had a ADR at 1900 PF for 7:55 pm and it was rolling around to 6:30 and i started getting worried because Marissa was still deep in sleep. At 7pm I decided to just call dining services to see if I could get a later one.... turned out there were none for 1900 PF but there was a 9pm for Chef Mickey.... So I decided on that one.... So i start waking Marissa up and she is a little cranky but she wakes up and we get ready. Off we go to the bus again to get to MK.... I don't have to say it but again we waited so long.... So off we go to MK then off of to monorail to Contemporary.... we get there and there is NO one there.... woohoo... it won't be crowded...

IMG_0104.jpg

So we eat and Marissa is having the time of her life. So i knew that we had a long day the next day so I decided to just go back to POP and get to bed. As we hop back on the monorail to MK we see the fireworks from afar. They looked great. I couldn't wait to see it upfront and personal.

Once we get in the room i guess Marissa got homesick :confused3 and she started to cry because she wanted to go home to her daddy. So we had to call him and he was on the phone with her for about 30 min until she calmed down. My poor honey she missed him. But she eventually fell asleep. So i took that as a cue went to take a shower and went to bed.

Side note: it is true that you hear EVERYTHING going on outside of your room. But that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I didn't mind. I was just happy I was in WDW........

Next up: Marissa's Birthday.....

NC - almost time for you to be in WDW... so excited for you...

RF & Lake - i didn't know u guys were meeting up... i'm glad you guys had a great time more info please...

Sea - Monny - Hi....

we went to see TS3 yesterday and we LOVED it... Marissa wanted to go again today to watch it...

Shelly - Hi..... miss you...

Jo - hope you are feeling better..... miss you too.....

Yay! Thanks for the update Mari!!!!! Im glad you guys were able to get in to CM! I wouldn't have wanted to wake her either. So cute!

Sorry you had terrible bus service at Pop. :sad2: That stinks! Ugh, it reminds me of the ridiculously slow busses we had at POR 2 years ago. It does put a damper on your day.... especially in that heat! Yikes! I am really hoping it cools down before September! :scared1:

RF & Lake - i didn't know u guys were meeting up... i'm glad you guys had a great time more info please...

....

haha - Well I can give you a little TR from my point of view if you like.

Well after the 4 of us meeting last summer in PA, we have spent quite a bit of time chatting and communicating with each other since on facebook :surfweb:, and we found that the 4 of us had become quite good friends and thought it would be fun to get together again.
Finding time to get to Pittsburgh was hard, and having Heather and Bob get to Canada would be harder without them having passports.
As you know Jason and I love our little overnight getaways when we can get them, and since we hadn't had one in a while and knowing it would be a while till we could again we wanted a quick getaway and decided that maybe meeting half way...about 2 .5 or 3 hours each would be the best idea. So we put out the idea, and tried to make it happen, luckily it did.
So ...what is a fun thing to do half way between our two cities and that we would all like. CEDAR POINT.:goodvibes

So we made plans and all took Friday off of work and drove up to Sandusky OHIO in the morning.

We met up just after lunch, checked into the Cedar Point Castaway Bay waterpark and hotel, did a little shopping together at Target (picked up some bottles of water and stuff), then headed to Cedar Point for Twilight Nights. We had heard that there was a chance of thunderstorms for Saturday:sad1:so we thought going Friday night as well was a good idea in case it did storm the next day.

From 5- 11 pm you can use the park for a reduced rate. It was so great, the longest we waited in line that night was 20 minutes. Most rides were 5 or 10 if that. It was so much fun, and was somehow talked into doing rides I never thought I would but knew my limitations on others.:scared1: I would admit the rides I loved the most were those with water involved. The log rides, and the river rapid ones. We were WET!, and very happy about it. We had a blast, and then when we felt we were done at the park we headed back to the hotel and used the water park (since we were wet already) that was there before it closed for the night. It was so much fun, refreshing and made me feel like a kid again.

Once we were done at the water park... we went to our rooms got dressed and headed out for a late dinner... since it was almost 11 pm our options were slim so we headed to Cracker Barrell and just simple devoured our meals.... by this time we were all starving. It was us and only one other family there. When we got back to the hotel we were exhausted so we called it a night.

Saturday morning we got up, and checked out of our hotel and headed to the park. Because we were staying at a Cedar Point property we got in an hour before regular park time. So we hopped on a couple rides quickly before the crowds kicked in... and those crowds by the way never really kicked in... I would say we had less than a half hour to wait for anything our entire trip.

We spent the morning getting to all the rides we wanted to try that we didn't the night before, and some of those we wanted to try again. Then finally took a break to grab some food. Skipping on breakfast wasn't so hard considering the large meal we had eaten at 11 pm the night before.

The weather was absolutely perfect, no sight of a thunderstorm anywhere at all, though humid and hot, the breeze off Lake Erie made it very bearable. When it started to get really warm at mid day...we headed back to the water rides to cool off.

We put our belongings in a locker and purposely went to get drenched. The log ride is so much fun, because not only do you get soaked on it, but the wake you create flies so high that your boat catches up to it and then it comes down and hits ...or rather pounds you with it a second time. When you get off the ride you have to walk across a bridge across where the boats get splashed below, and if you time it right you can get drowned by the wake again. It's hilarious.

After doing the water rides a few times, and having gotten into the parks early to do everything else we wanted to try, we were starting to get a little tired, a little sunburned and would rather drive home in the light than in the dark. So around 2:30 we exited the gates...headed up to the McDonald's at the entrance to change into dry clothes for the ride home, and to say our goodbyes.

We had a wonderful time together and a wonderful little getaway for us all as couples as well.

Our ride home was good, though Bob and Heather finally found that called for thunderstorm. They drove through it on the way home. And thankfully arrived home safe and sound as well. It turns out that the storm had come through Detroit and our hometown on Friday night, before rolling over the lake and to PA, though it had missed us in Sandusky entirely.

I will say though. We may have been at Cedar Point, but there was a lot of talk of Disney. Both of us talked about our upcoming trips, and we did a lot of comparing of what we saw there to what we do and see at WDW, and who would like what. SO NONE OF YOU WERE FAR FROM THOUGHT. :)

- This is where I will make a little side note about chcolate...yummmmy! Last summer we had talked about the things that you can buy in Canada but not in the US and vice versa. Some how we got on the topic of Candy Bars. So after our visit last summer to Pittsburgh we sent by mail to Bob and Heather two kinds of chocolate bars called O'Henry's and COFFEE CRISP that can only be purchased here. They loved them. So on this visit we planned for what we call the GREAT INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE BAR SWAP. We provided the O'Henry's and Coffee Crisp and they brought us Clark'S Bar's a Pittsburgh treat. -

Thank you Mari! I am loving your TR! I am so sorry the busses were so bad for you at Pop! I will tell my kids because that is the main reason they wanted to go back to Pop! We hardly ever waited for busses. DTD bus was always slow. We had terrible bus service when we stayed at the CR and GF. Very long waits. I am so sorry that happened to you.

Marissa looked so hot bless her heart. I kept looking at my weather app and the heat was terrible at WDW during your week.

I can't wait to read more!!!

Wow! At the end of the this week, my kids will have been out of school 4 weeks. But I completely understand. Your seasons are more truly aligned with the calendar than ours. It has felt like summer here for about 6 to 8 weeks. And this week, well, words just can't describe this weather.

Love the TR!!! :lovestruc Chris would love to visit his birthland in Ohio and go to Cedar Point. Maybe someday!
