There's no place like "home" for the holidays...*updated 3/18 p. 43 and 44*

After stopping at Caribbean Beach it was time to go "home!" We were on our way to the Beach Club! I couldn't wait to arrive since I've been dreaming of staying there for so long...I couldn't believe we really were! Before long we saw the entrance to the resort. (sorry, the photos are less than spectacular).

We were there! Man, the Beach Club is so pretty. David let us off the bus and we were greeted by one of the cast members who took us right in to check in. There was no wait at all. While Dad was getting our room assignment Emma and I explored the lobby. It was all decked out for Christmas.

Here's the Beach Club tree. I love how all the resort trees are themed. This one had fish, turtles, and other beach-themed decor. So pretty.

And then of course there was the gingerbread carousel. Let me just say it was fun walking into the lobby every day to that smell. :goodvibes

Emma found this chair to relax on. I tried it out too and you just sort of sunk into it. Very comfortable.

Once Dad finished checking in we were off to find our room. Villa number 139!

We saw that wonderful sign that says "Welcome Home" and entered the lobby of the BCV. Again it was all decked out for Christmas (pictures to come later...;) I could tell right away that I was going to like it here. :goodvibes After meandering down a couple hallways we finally found our room. We were in one of the studios. The room was bright and cheerful. And the bedding was Little Mermaid themed. Very cute. We settled in for a little bit but who wants to sit around all day when you're in Disney World?! It was time to enjoy the sunshine and head to the Studios!

One day I will stay there, oh yes I will. Beach Club looks so pretty. I can't wait to see more of your pictures!

I love your picture from inside the bus as it's pulling right to the entrance with the YOAMD banners on either side! :goodvibes It's such a beautiful resort! I also loved seeing that beach-themed Christmas tree! How clever!

The Beach Club is awesome...hopefully you do get to stay there some day!

Thanks! The tree was adorable.

It really is a nice resort. Great theming, great location. :thumbsup2

Once we dropped off our stuff in the room we were ready to get out and have some fun. Since we arrived earlier than we thought, we decided to head over to Hollywood Studios (I have to admit I am starting to get used to saying that instead of MGM). We wanted to figure out the shortest way to the bus stops so we made our way toward the pool instead of the lobby. We found the quiet pool in case we wanted to swim without the excitement of Stormalong Bay.

n1605780003_30341842_7130.jpg

So we saw where the bus stops were and cut through the lobby to head down to the dock.

I just loved the atmosphere in the whole area. People coming from Epcot, people swimming at Stormalong Bay or playing ping pong by the pool...so much activity! My aunt and uncle always stay at the Yacht Club and I was beginning to see why! As we were waiting for the boat to come Emma and I took a bunch of pictures of the surroundings:

And just in case you didn't already feel as if you were there ;) I took this short video too...I think I sound sort of annoyed at the end for some reason so forgive me if I do. :confused3

After 15 minutes or so one of the Friendship boats came and we were on our way to the Swan and Dolphin and Hollywood Studios. If you have never taken one of the boats to DHS, I have to tell you that the view you get as you approach is probably one of the most fun views in all of Disney World. It's like you don't see anything and then all of a sudden you see the entrance, the sorcerer's hat, Tower of Terror, the billboards on Hollywood Boulevard, and the Christmas tree. So neat!

As we were entering the park, Block Party Bash was going on.

That kind of got me in the mood for the trip because it's so high-energy and everyone seemed like they were having so much fun. I should've joined in on the dancing! haha So like we usually do, our first stop was to check out the information board to see what the wait times were like. Overall they weren't bad...maybe half an hour at most. Of course Toy Story Mania was longer-that was listed as an hour. We decided to walk over towards Pixar Place since Emma wasn't with us on our May trip just to check it out. We knew we weren't going to get to ride it right away anyways but once we were there the wait was listed at 80 minutes (oh yes, and fastpasses were gone for the day too, surprise, surprise!). :scared1: So we backtracked over to Tower Of Terror.
n20305212_34373393_1865.jpg

I believe the wait time said 30 minutes, but we pretty much walked right into the library. We all get such a kick out of this ride. So much fun! Next up was Rock 'N Roller Coaster, one of Emma's favorites. It was actually kind of funny once we got into the recording studio. There was one guy who shouted out "how 'bout some backstage passes?" right before they mention something about backstage passes. Some people might have been annoyed by it but I had to laugh at that. Think he's been on one too many times. :rotfl: Once we were in our limo we were ready to rock. Though we did get "stuck" right before the launch. I think we went through 2 or 3 cycles of the sign before you take off. As if sitting there wasn't bad enough...it sure heightened the anticipation. I do have to say this ride is growing on me. It was nice to be able to get two of the biggest rides done right away and now when we came back to DHS in the morning we could do Toy Story Mania first thing.

Then we made our way to the Sorcerer's Hat to get ready for the High School Musical pep rally! (I am trying to figure out where this picture came from...I guess I turned around as we were walking to take this one! :confused3 )

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great New Year's Eve. We're spending the night at home (which doesn't exactly compare to being at Epcot last New Year's Eve. Oh well!)It's hard to believe 2008 is coming to an end. I just wanted to wish you all a

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I've enjoyed getting to know you all the past few months...I wish I could meet you all in person. ;) So here's to a new year of fun, DIS friends, and of course great trip reports. :teeth:

Happy New Year! :yay:
I love your Beach Club pictures. I've never taken the boat to MGM so I enjoyed hearing about it through your eyes. Sounds like you started on the perfect ride :woohoo:

Happy New Year!!!

Loving the TR so far! Y&BC looks so lovely!

We had a quiet Hogmany as well - we went to a friends house as they had no babysitters either, but it was good fun. We stayed later than we thought, well past the bells, but the kids were all playing and having fun! :goodvibes

You captured some great Beach Club shots! I am just counting the days until I can get back there!

Believe it or not, the whole time I was there I didn't do the boat over to HS, I always walked. I will have to take the boat next time!

I liked Block Party too -- very high energy and definitely gets you in the spirit!

It's looking like you had a great first day and it's not even over!

Happy New Year!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Hope you had a good first day of 2009. :)

It is such an awesome sight. Dad and I were talking and wondering if they planned it that way. :scratchin And it's even better at night when the lights are all on and the spotlights are going too. :goodvibes

Happy New Year!!! I'm so excited about staying at the BCV!!:thumbsup2

I don't blame you for being excited! I hope we get to go back there some day.

I'm glad you are enjoying it! The Y&BC is great. And it sounds like you had a fun evening as well.

Thanks. Some of the pictures are my sister's though...she gets some good ones.

Yeah, you definitely have to take the boat! I wish I would've taken a picture of it.

Sadly we didn't get a chance to see the whole Block Party Bash. :sad2: Though Dad and I did see it when we were in Disneyland a couple years ago.

haha, yeah the first day is just getting started!

Did you happen to get a refurbished villa? I'm trying to talk DH inot renting points for BCV for May. He loves the pics so far!

Happy New Year!!!:cool1:

Great photos of the Beach Club, it looks beautiful!!!
We own (well my Dad owns them, but he always says we can use them anytime) two time shares with RCI, so I need to look into the new RCI / DVC partnership.

The boat ride to DHS sounds neat! Will have to try that.
Glad you were able to get right on some rides!!!

Oh gosh, I'm not even sure if we got one of the refurbished rooms. Sorry I'm no help there. :guilty: But you should definitely try to convince him! ;)
