Welcome home!!!! Sorry I didn't get to send you a "happy trip send off msg". We lost power for 6 days in that huge ice storm last week. I'm so glad you had a fabulous time. Hopefully writing this TR will help you not fall too far into that Post Disney trip depression. Can't wait to read all about your trip!!!!

Hi Cheryl! I'm sorry to hear you lost power. That is no fun. The weather all over is just so bad (well, except in Florida, haha). I don't know how many times I heard people on their phones asking if it was snowing yet. I'm excited to relive our trip and share it all with you.

Glad you had such a great time! Can't wait to hear and see all about it! (And you're right, Beach Club is amazing!) Glad the crowds weren't terrible.

It was funny how people's opinions on the crowds were so different...we were talking to an older couple at one of the parks and they said they always come during the same week and they thought it was really crowded. Guess we're just so used to going during even busier times that it doesn't phase us?

I'm signing on, we're staying at BCV for the first time next October!

We did have a fun time. Ohhhh I would love for it to be in the teens here. With the wind chills we have below zero temperatures. Not fun. Though I am looking at the forecast and tomorrow it's supposed to be a high of 23!

Tuesday, December 16, 2008...part 1

The day for our trip had finally arrived! We woke up around 5:00 am for our flight at 9:30. Now normally I don't like getting up early but somehow going to Disney makes it much more bearable. Maybe because it's a lot more fun than going to work?! haha We left the house at 6:00 or so and we were on our way to the airport! Mom dropped us off, we said our good-byes and headed to the Midwest counter to check in. I was surprised at how dead the airport was. There was literally maybe 2 other people in line when we got there. When Dad tried checking in the computer said something about how it couldn't find our reservation. That was kind of strange but I guess it did that for the other people too. So we just talked to one of the employees and got everything straightened out. He noticed our Magical Express tags and asked if we were doing "the whole Disney thing." Of course we were! How can we not do the whole Disney thing?! Anyways, check-in went pretty fast and then we had to go through security. Again, not much of a problem there either. Even though it wasn't crowded it's still sort of stressful. Dad and I are always afraid we're going to leave something behind. Once we were all "recombobulated" (Dad calls security the discombobulation center) we found our gate. We had plenty of time to relax before our flight so I grabbed a bagel to eat and a bag of Cheese-Its for when we got to Orlando International. Ever since last year's events at the gate (if you read my last 2 TRs you might remember that our flight last Dec. got cancelled right as we were about to board the plane) I get really nervous waiting. It didn't help that our plane was coming from somewhere else and wasn't at the gate yet. And whenever they came on with an announcement I got a little jumpy. Fortunately, there were no problems and our flight left pretty much right on time. We were finally on our way!

The flight was pretty uneventful and we arrived at MCO around 1:00. I always love arriving in Orlando...it was so nice to actually see sunshine! And that blast of warm air stepping off the plane and into the jetway. Gotta love it! Since we hadn't really eaten much we decided to get some lunch at Chick-Fil-A. There are no Chick-Fil-As around here so that was a treat. Soooo good! Once we had our food we took it with us and made our way to the Magical Express Welcome Center. I couldn't believe our trip was about to begin.

Check-in didn't take too long at all. We only had to wait a few minutes before boarding our bus!

We actually got to ride in one of the Disney Cruise Line buses instead of the typical ME buses.

When we boarded the bus, Toy Story was playing.

Soon our bus driver David whisked us away to the place where dreams come true. YAY!!!! Dad called home to tell Mom and Claire that we made it. Turns out it was snowing at home. Poor them being stuck at home when we were in the beautiful warm weather. We enjoyed the ME video and before long we were approaching the Disney World gates! I was sitting in the front of the bus so I was ready to get a picture.

We were finally in Disney World!! It always brings a smile to my face seeing those familiar road signs, Disney transport buses and other landmarks. One of my favorite parts of the ME ride is stopping at other resorts even if it's just for a few seconds. Before heading to the Beach Club, we stopped at Caribbean Beach.

We didn't get a good look at it with all of the trees and other buses but it looked very colorful. Not to mention HUGE!

A few people got off at CBR and then we were moving again.

It was actually me, my dad, and my youngest sister on this trip.

Doesn't it just make you feel like you're back "home"? We always make a little game out of it and try to guess which color monorail we'll see first.

Hi! I totally agree about that and with all the flight changes we had to deal with before the trip that's what Dad kept saying...he wasn't going to be convinced we were going until we landed in Florida!

Yup, I figured it's better to start sooner than later (don't want to forget everything! haha).

Yeah it seemed so spread out...kind of like Saratoga Springs. They're just massive resorts!
