There's no place like "home" for the holidays...*updated 3/18 p. 43 and 44*

69 DAYS!!!

As promised here's my next flashback picture. It's from one of our first visits to the Animal Kingdom when we went over our spring break in 1999. I was so excited when Disney World opened another theme park and some of my favorite attractions are now there, particularly Kilamanjaro Safaris and Dinosaur. I have to say that behind the Magic Kingdom, AK is my second favorite park. I just love the atmosphere and seeing all the animals:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

OK, random post but I also wanted to share some pictures from the Brewers game we went to on Saturday. It was the first time we got to experience a playoff game and it was so exciting! They won Saturday but sadly they lost on Sunday so now they are done. :sad2: But it was lots of fun to experience that kind of electric atmosphere. :goodvibes

The long line of cars trying to get into the parking lot (this was several blocks away from the stadium!)

Overall it was a great day...exhausting, but lots of fun and I know I'll never forget it. OK, back to Disney now! :teeth:

I love animal kingdom too! There is just something so relaxing about that park where you just need to take some time and explore it.

Glad you had fun at the game! Awesome you got to go. Looks like you had a blast! I would die if I could get my hands on some Sox tickets. Go Red sox! (sorry for my little plug) :rotfl:

Cute Animal Kingdom pic! :goodvibes I'm with you -- I love that AK atmoshere! Glad you had fun at the game, too!! :woohoo: (I should say, even more glad they won!)

I agree and there is so much to take in at AK. Love it!

Yeah, the Brewers are definitely not the Red Sox so we don't get very many opportunities for postseason baseball. :sad2: We had a 9-game package of tickets for this season so we were lucky to get to go without having to enter the ticket lottery. I just found out today that we also had tickets to the first home game of the NL Championship Series that we'll need to be reimbursed for. :sad2: But it was definitely an experience I won't forget. :)

TGIF! I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I was subbing all week. I'm so happy it's Friday...it was a crazy week. I may have some good news coming...I was talking to one of the teachers and apparently the lady I'm filling in for may end up needing surgery for her knee. She said that I could end up being there for the next 6 weeks. :) It was also sort of interesting because the principal called me and 2 of the other teachers to meet with one of the second grade teachers where we all help. We've been having some issues with what exactly the teacher expects of us when we're in there (let's just say she has a very challenging group of kids) so we got together to talk about it. I still have not heard anything for sure but doesn't that make it seem like I could be there a while?! I mean, why else would I have to go to this meeting? So I guess this could end up being kind of a long-term thing! :thumbsup2 We will see what happens!

Oh yes...did anybody else get the Sleeping Beauty DVD? We just watched it tonight. I seriously don't remember the last time I saw it. Now I have "Once Upon A Dream" stuck in my head. haha

67 days until Disney World!

Even if it doesn't end up being long-term (although it sounds like it will)....congrats! Sounds like you're having a good experience through all of it! :thumbsup2 I wish you luck!

I'm jealous you got that new DVD! ;) It's on my "Disney-classics-must-get" list, it's great!

Cute AK picture - can you believe that was almost 10 years ago!

Thanks for the baseball pictures - I'm not a huge baseball fan when it comes to watching on tv but I do love to go to the games - its been a while but seeing your pictures makes me want to go!

Congrats on the potential job! Hope it all works out for you! :goodvibes

Thanks. Obviously I'd rather be a classroom teacher but hey, anything to get experience, and as long as the principal likes me...LOL.

Sleeping Beauty was great.

Yeah, that is so crazy it was almost 10 years ago.

You're welcome for the pictures. That game was so much more exciting than any I've ever been to...everyone was just into every second of it!

Thanks, I'll keep everyone posted on what happens.

Happy Monday everyone!

There's no school today so I've got the day off. :cool1: No major updates on the trip yet, but I just talked to Dad and we're still wanting to eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe so we're going to talk about what we want to do each day. Then we'll try calling to see if there's anything available (I have a feeling there won't be, but you never know!). So stay tuned for our rough itinerary!

I also decided to order some of those custom maps (they are free, after all ;))off the Disney World site so those should be coming soon.

I've got some good news to share.

First, on the teaching front...I just got off the phone with the sub coordinator and she found out that the teacher I've been filling in for will be out for the next 2 weeks. So I'm set for atleast that long. Not good for her, but good news for me. YAY!!! :)

Second, Dad called to see if we could get a reservation for WCC and we were able to get one!  We decided to do it near the end of our trip after we had been to the parks. So we will be eating there on the 20th. :thumbsup2 Here's the updated itinerary (which I'm sure will be changing, especially with all the airline drama  ):

That's awesome about the teaching thing! :woohoo: Congrats!!

Yay for getting an ADR at Whispering Canyon! We had a blast when we went & I'm sure yall will, too! Remember to ask for ketchup! :thumbsup2

I haven't posted in here in a while. I can't believe how close your trip is getting. Hopefully the airline won't change the flights again. And yay for finally getting the reservation at WCC! That should be a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

That's cool about the subbing. Although it's not a full-time teaching job, at least you have the next 2 weeks figured out. Like you said, it's a good learning experience, and it seems like things are going really well there. :goodvibes

Oh by the way thanks for clearing the "What will you celebrate tour." I was thinking of driving to dallas (about 3 hours!) because I expected it to be some huge cool thing. :confused3 (Not really sure why.) Glad I didn't drive 3 hours now .. I would have been mad! :lmao:

I know, I'm excited that I'll have something that's more than one day long. LOL. I'm still not sure how long I'll be there after next week but it sounds like it could be a while.

I can't wait for WCC! hahaha, yeah, I am not a ketchup person but I am tempted to ask for it anyway. :lmao:

Yeah, I was wondering where you went. ;) I hope the airline doesn't change either. *crosses fingers*

Yup, I really like the school and the kids. :)
Yay for WCC! We will be there the day before! :goodvibes

Ohh cool! WCC will be fun.

Yeah, the tour is nothing special.

Your plans look great so far! We are eating at WCC for the first time the weekend before you! :goodvibes

Thanks! I hope you are having a great time on your trip now.

Congratulations about the subbing job!!! Thats so awesome.

Your plans look great! Ohhh and I love the last thing on Dec 21st! ;)

Wow you had a lot of reading for me to catch up on!
I have been singing the Sleeping Beauty song for a week now too. I am so glad they released it!
Oh, and if you do not want to ask for ketchup at WCC just ask where you can buy some chewing gum or wear a Sea World T-Shirt! I have heard both can get good reactions. Oh and there is something about complaining about your straw being short and they bring you a super long one You should do that to anyone who goes to the restroom. Stop the waiter and tell them that your dad/sister needed a new straw because theirs was too short. Then when they come back they will have a funny surprise!
I can't wait to see your pics since we are going to WCC in April.
Oh and by the way it is almost 60 days!!

I was so excited when I found out they were releasing Sleeping Beauty. The one for next fall is Snow White so I'm excited about that too (don't know when I last saw that either!).

I am going to have to remember those when we go to WCC. :rotfl:

It is 60 days today!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
