There's a First Time for Everything! A Christmas In November TR

Wow.. what a wonderful idea with the pearls from Japan! .. I might just have to borrow your idea for a souvenir on my Disneymoon next year... :lovestruc !
Did the CM in Japan fit the pearls easily in to the carriage on the necklaces?

Really enjoying your updates... photos are great! :goodvibes

Thank you. Glad you are enjoying it. The pearls fit very easily. In fact, you don't have to get a CM to do it. You can do it yourself. It isn't mounted permanently. It just floats inside. I just realized that I had DD's necklace on backwards when I took that close-up picture, so I went back and took a few more.

This is the front.

This is how a cage pendant looks when opened.

This is the side. You can see how the top rings come together for the necklace to slip through. The necklace is what keeps it from opening.

Hope that makes more sense! Here's the link to the ebay ad if you are interested:

I've been reading your wonderful report over the last couple of days and right off the bat, I need to say :worship:. Wonderful job! Thank you for doing it! The info and the photos are amazing. My girls and I have had so much fun looking at it together.

I just showed DD8 your pendants and she wants one! She picked-a-pearl on our trip in January '09 and it's still in my purse.

We're looking at a couple of weeks for a trip in November or December of this year. So far, the week you went is looking really good! :thumbsup2 Were there any negatives to that timeframe?

Thanks again for all the work you put into your amazing report! :goodvibes

So glad I found your TR. I've read 1/2 of it so far. We did the same flight, SW from Raleigh is the way to go. They had a weekend sale and we got the flights for $50.00. I flown many, many times for work, but it was my kids first flight. We've always driven to disney. I loved it, with the credit from SW, I think my daughter and I are doing a girls trip in June.
Loved the pirate cruise, and don't you love those "Disney" moments.
I'll try to catch up, but have to say the last post caught my attention. My DD did the pick a pearl this trip and we have it waiting to mount. I love the carriage. I'll have to search ebay for that. It will make a great valentines gift.:)

Aww. What nice things for you to say. I am really having the best time doing this TR. It is a great way to pass these long winter days and I love reliving my trip again. I'm so glad that you are enjoying and thanks for coming out to post. I love chatting with other Disneyholics! :lmao:

I knew all the settings in Japan would be really expensive and I just didn't want to put a lot of money into the setting for a five year old. That's why I ordered the cage setting from ebay. Here's the link from the ad that I bought mine from.

The week we went was heavenly. The weather and the crowds were wonderful all week. It was even better than last year when we went the same exact week. The only thing I can think to tell you is to check to see when Jersey Week is. This year it was the first week of November so the weekend that we arrived was a little busier than the rest of the trip. Jersey week is when the schools are out in NJ for conferences and lots of families come to WDW. But, I personally have been there 2 years in a row during that time and I didn't think it was crowded at all. Another thing is that ALL the Christmas stuff won't be out until after Thanksgiving. You will see most of it, but some of the stuff at the resorts and things like the Candlelight Processional will not be going on. I was willing to sacrifice those few things in exchange for very low crowds. Free dining was also going on both years that we went and it still wasn't crowded!

Well hello! I read your TR last year and loved it! I was hoping you would do another one, but I haven't seen it in your signature! Welcome!!! So glad you are here!

$50 is a steal! It is hard to pass up prices like that, even for me and I hate flying! You get there so fast though and you have so much more time because of it.

Yes, those Disney moments are precious. I wouldn't trade them for anything! :lovestruc

That looks like so much fun! I love the pick a pearl, it might be a fun idea for us to do with DD in December. If I trust her with a nice necklace by then...we'll see.

What a great evening. I love the stting for the pearl-so cute! Illuminations looks so amazing-it is on our to do list for May.

The pick-a- pearl was a great idea to create a magical moment.

The pictures of Illuminations were wonderful, you really had a great spot.

What a wonderful ending to your Epcot day!!! I have never heard a whole lot about Biergarten, so I enjoyed seeing all of your pictures and reading your description. Good for you for winning over the grumpy lady!

I am in love with your Cinderella Coach necklaces with the pearls. My little head is spinning with ideas for Chelsea's birthday now. ;)

Awesome WS update! Loved every minute of it!:thumbsup2

Biergarten looks interesting. Did they have stuff for kids on the buffet? Too funny about the lady with the other group!

That is so sweet that you did PAP with your daughter:goodvibes My DD did it last June and we got a ring made for her. She used her souvie money-it was just a simple silver setting and didn't cost much. We let my DS pick one and had a necklace made for my mil. It's a really fun thing to do!

thanks so much for the link... I just looked at the size of my DD's pearl.
I remember you reading my last TR. I used most of my free space on photobucket and intended on finding a new freebie site and doing another TR, life just got busy. We actually just went Dec. 8-14. Love the world at Christmastime. We let the kids do the pirate's league this time. They loved it. Always something new or "firsts" as you're doing in your TR.
Thanks again for the link:hug:

Wow, that was great! I might reconsider eating at Biergarten. As a Minnesotan, I have to say that most of us are pretty nice (we're known for that), so I can see how that family would warm up and be friendly. :)

I love the plan you had for pick a pearl. I would love to do that with my girls. Is it inside the gift shop in Japan? I've never looked much there. This is why I need about 3 days in Epcot!! I miss too much.

Great day - you have really lucked out with the crowds!!!

I am still here and still reading along! As usual, your pictures are great. :thumbsup2 The pick a pearl necklaces turned out great, and I know your daughter just loves having a "grown up" necklace like her Mommy. :lovestruc

I think we'll skip Biergarten on this trip. There are so many places I'd like to eat in EPCOT, and since I am not a huge fan of German food I think it will have to wait. I do want to eventually try it though! We live right near Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA, so we eat at the Germany section of their park often in the summer. Of course, when we eat there we usually get pizza, or occasionally a turkey sandwich! :rotfl:

What an amazing update!! I just love how you did the Pick-a-Pearl with your DD!! And the carriage necklace is TDF!! I think I'm going to have to order 3--one for me and one for my 2 girls!! Thanks for the link!! Where did you get the silver chain? And what size chain did you get? Can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes

I just spent a couple hours enjoying your trip report. Can't wait for more!

I'm really enjoying your report!! Love the pick the pearl.. I didn't even know they did that! Awesome!
