They had opened the seating already and despite being 30 minutes early, we werent early enough to get centerstage seating. Darn! I had a few picture opportunities that I wanted to try, but needed to be centered.
As we entertained the kids, I could see they were getting a bit restless. The sky also seemed to be getting dark that stormy grey, in the direction of AK if my bearings are correct. Uh oh! Would there be a storm?
Soon enough the car chase begun and before the end of the first act, both DS and DD were sound asleep. I felt so bad for DS, especially as he loves Vroom, Vrooms.
As the show went on, the sky cleared up, and I noticed this stunt guy who just sat here for the almost the entire show. I imagine he has a part, maybe they dont perform each show but are there for safety reasons, etc? The only time he moved from the seat was in the final scene with the person on fire, he walked onto the stage area and talked to someone during the sequence.
Why did I notice this? Not sure. Is this relevant to the story? Not really.
I missed out on the photo opportunities bc I was centered. This is what I got instead.
The show was over and I realized that Herbie didnt make an appearance. Now the last time I saw this show was in 2006 bc Im not a huge car fanatic so this isnt a must-see every trip for me. I asked a CM and she said he occasionally makes appearances.
We carried the kids out to the strollers and DD woke up as I tried to lay her in it. Darn! I have this rotten luck with her waking up when I try to move her as she sleeps. DS was still sleeping. I got a text message from DSis that they would meet us by TSM. We could use our fast passes! Woo Hoo!
Pixar Place was still crowded and congested. It seemed like and the Narnia exhibit just let out a group of people and the line for TSM was at 95 minutes. DSis and DBIL were waiting for us and we parked the stroller. Picking up DS I was starting to wake him up a bit. Now, I heard quite a bit about this ride and especially the queue. Unfortunately, there are no pictures bc I was carrying DS. We walked into the fast pass line and I was impressed by the props and décor. In the fast pass line, however, you skip a lot of it so I really only caught a glimpse of Mr. Potato Head.
We spent our waiting listening to DBIL rave about AI. It was awesome. Simon was spot on, etc He mentioned going to the finale later on. It was about 10 minutes before we boarded the ride. We gathered our 3-D glasses and I took DS with me, Pop Pop and DD rode together, and DBIL and DSis were in a separate car behind us.
I wasnt expecting it to move so quickly so with the first swing turn, poor DS slid in the car and bumped his head. He was fine, but then he didnt want to wear the glasses. I immediately had one arm around him and was trying to pull the string to hit the target. I wasnt even finished with the first game before I came to the conclusion that it is just a glorified video game made to look like youve been put in the middle of it. I was bored by it. Had I been by myself I would have stopped playing and just vegged for the remaining portions of the ride, but DS was trying his might to pull the string to play so being the good mommy that I am, I helped him hit as many targets as we could and the smile on his face was priceless when I told him he beat me. He is so cute! (Even now as he throws breaks his slices of cheese into little pieces and throws them across the floor.)
DBIL and DSis really enjoyed the ride. Pop Pop had the same thoughts as me and Im not really sure what DD thought of it. Pop Pop said she did wear the 3-D glasses for the ride, and tried to pull the string too.
My final thoughts on TSM: if you or your child enjoy video games, then it is a must do and loved by all. Honestly, I prefer Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin and would take that any day over TSM. Not being into videogames, I would only fast pass this attraction if I wasnt planning on getting a FP for ToT or RnR. For me, I wouldnt wait more than 10 minutes for this attraction. However, that being said Im sure that in a few weeks I will be on this attraction as exDH is big into video and carnival type games.
Shield up and helmet on to ward off the bushels of flying debris about to thrown at me.
DBIL and DSis decided to go on GMR and possibly another round on RnR. Pop Pop and I decided to take the kids across the way to meet Woody and Buzz. Pop Pop was excited to meet them too especially Buzz. The line was probably about 15 minutes long we guessed, but occupied the kids by taking pictures of them in the different areas.
We were heading into Woodys Roundup Corral area when Pop Pop realized that his sunglasses were missing. Prescription sunglasses. Uh oh! I know he had them on during the Motor stunt show and we figured that he lost them during TSM since he puts them on top of his head to wear the 3-D glasses.
We take the kids out of line and backtrack the line and through the people who had gotten in line after us. Pop Pop spoke with the CM outside the TSM entrance.
She told him to come back closer to 6pm when they would be able to check for him. Not being able to do anything more at the time, we got back online to meet Woody and Buzz.
Some of the people we walked by on our way out were leaving the line. Apparently, Woody and Buzz were taking a short play break with Andy and the rest of the toys. The family who was directly behind us spotted us back on line. There were 2 families in between us and them. Without our knowledge, she spoke to them and told them how we were online in front of them and needed to leave bc we lost something. The 2 families turned to us and told us to walk ahead. Pop Pop and I were dumbfounded! Then we saw the woman motioning us ahead yelling, I told them you were online and needed to leave. Take your spot back. We havent moved. First, we declined saying we would wait. What was another 5-8 minutes? When the families insisted, we graciously thanked them and moved back into our original spot. A little pixie dust from fellow guests!
Within 8 minutes we were getting ready to join Woody and Buzz in Andys room. DD and DS could not stop staring at them. They wouldnt look at the camera. I think it is bc Buzzs costume is especially intricate.
I commented to Buzz that I thought it was smart that he had a stamp made instead of signing his name all the time.
He gave me the thumbs up!
A few quick pictures and we waved goodbye to our new friends.
DD mentioned that she was thirsty, so I walked next door and purchased a drink and yup popcorn! In the words of Pop Pop, Whats a day in Disney without popcorn?
I get a text from DSis stating that she and DBIL were going to watch the AI finale at 6 - park closing. Since Pop Pop had to check back at TSM around then, we wondered around just a bit allowing the kids and Pop Pop to munch on their popcorn.
Around 5:55pm we went back to TSM and about 10 minutes later a CM walked out with Pop Pop's sunglasses. Whew! Crisis avoided.
Since the park was now closed, all we could do was wait for DSis and DBIL.
Coming up - Wait, Wait, Wait
